Money spent is money redistributed.

Even if you don't approve of the project you might like to remember that jobs are created and all the money being spent on this must be moving on as it is paid out to everyone connected in any way then on to anyone they pass money on to.

Pure research is sometimes seen as wasting money but many worthwhile discoveries are found while doing Blue Sky Research.

i'm amazed at that running bear although i have noticed when you see them on t.v they are all hair and makeup

i must say not to get any backlash they are all probably all very nice ladies.

i have never worn makeup never felt the need for it much better to be natural

There are still things we dont understand about the universe and this scientific experiment will help us to further that knowledge. It may lead to the discovery of means of travelling to other parts of the universe, it may lead to time travel - who knows? It will certainly enable us to pin down the beginning of the universe into a definite scientific explanation and put to rest forever the various alternative theories about creation.

I can imagine some people somewhere at one time deriding people like Alexander Fleming, Marie Curie, Isaac Newton ever with the same vigour.

The cost is insignificant. Totally insignificant. If people who complain about the cost bore sway, then there would be no olympics, no world cup, no entertainment, arts - in fact nothing but the absolute essentials for life. How boring, tedious and how stultifying!

Well Ann, lovey
Its much easier to play nursery games
than work for a living, a bucket of sand and a little
plastic shovell isnt as difficult as a metal one.
Its called the kings new clothes, the Oggle Goggle
box syndrome.

Colin

Colin Report 10 Sep 2008 14:11

Well, lets hope the billions of pounds spent on the latest little
game, during scientists nursery play time, does some good
some where. Other than the pie in the sky machine they have
built, to prove genisis creation account correct .Perhaps we
might get some peacefull and much needed spin offs, say in
the medical field.
It is only such spin offs, what in my opinion justify, what i
otherwise concider a waste of time and money what, could be
better spent cleaning up the earth and or, feeding millions of
starving innocents.
Other than that, what purpose does it serve to go to the moon
the space race, or these machines as of todays experiment.
Unless the polititians and idle rich share a secret the rest of us dont know, the earth is what Captain Mannering DOOMED'
