We only had the one wreath on the coffin when my mother was cremated.

Because crematorium flowers are just dumped we took our wreath back to the village hall afterwards as a centre piece. When all the tea and sandwiches and stuff had been hoovered down we sent the old ladies on their way with a bunch of the flowers from the wreath and threw away the greenery.

I have often done it if I couldn't get to the cemetery at the appropriate time, also sometimes hold a couple of flowers back from those left to keep at home in a vase, as a sort of link.

you feel so awful when you can t make it helen dont you to leave some flowers,
im sure theyd see it if you did the same,
the flowers lift your spirits too

dad manages to put flowers for mam often,
id wondered what to do to mark the occasion,
as it was the weather sorted that out,

me and daughter popped up dads house yesterday with her little girl, so she gave him a chuckle,

i like the candle idea too donna
thats nice

Yes, I have always lit a candle and bought a bunch of flowers for my house whenever I have been unable to go to the Cemetery.

gave dad a white rose plant to keep, hes placed it in his kitchen window, i knew dad wouldnt forgot x
he told me to keep the bunch of roses and carnations i got for mam by her picture at home , so thats where they are , in the hall by a pic of their wedding day,
