Looking out my window............. .................. ....................... ................. .............. ............... ........... .................... ..................... ................. ....
Had fun with son earlier estimating how much each firework costs..."Thats a fiver gone up in smoke"..."well, thats a tenners worth they have had" :o))

Made me remember firework night as a child, bonfire & having fun making a guy, and every Catheribne wheel we ever had getting stuck & not turning right round :o))

The sitting on my window sill, looking out my bedroom window, much the same as now ..watching people burn their money

(oooo ! the family opposite have just had an impressive display, thats about a fifty quids box worth :o)))

There are hardly any going off around here, but two of the local towns - Lewes and Lindfield have their procession and marches tonight.
I expect a lot of people will go and watch those. The bonfires are always massive and the firework displays are huge and absolutely beautiful.

Bristol Zoo are doing a "noiseless" bonfire display. Now why cant all fireworks be noiseless I ask myself. No need for all this damn racket.

Incidentally my father attached a Catherine wheel to the shed door when I was younger and it spun off and chased me and my Nan around the blinky garden. Father was not too pleased we were stampeding all over his flowers! LOL

I only like sparklers - can you still get them I wonder?

"Light up the sky with Standard Fireworks" -gosh I have gone back 40 years pmsl

You'd hate Lewes procession then. The marching smugglers chuck handfuls of firecrackers at your feet. The pavements are so packed that there is nowhere to run. I spent half the time hidden inside my coat waiting for the things to go off!

I love fireworks. Unfortunately my home town no longer have a Bonfire Night display.
It was organised by the local council and fire station. Because of insurance problems and reduction of staffing at the fire station it has ceased

Here in Sussex/Kent each towns marching society fundraises all year round for their display. It would be a real shame if any of them had to cancel. The whole night is entertaining and there is a very sociable part of the calendar.

I've seen a few fireworks while on my rounds tonight but not many. There seems to be quite a lot of cloud cover.

Our big night is Saturday when the local Round Table put on the annual firework display in the park behind my house.

We get a free ringside seat. Thousands come along to watch it.

We had a family dinner for mum and dad's anniversary and brother's birthday. Then he let of a couple of boxes of fireworks on the green. I was surprised how many people were out walking their dogs while the fireworks were going off.

Also, the airforce did their low flying drills. I think they were getting in their practice with 'unexpected explosions'. The sonic boom is incredible from them.

As mum and dad live up on the hill and there's quite an open space (and most houses are bungalows) so we got a couple of free big displays too. The main event in town at the footie club, usually organised by the rotary club, had to be cancelled though when they were £5k short of the amount needed.
