Don't try this:

According to SC Johnson's Frequently Asked Questions page:

Can I boil in ZiplocĀ® Brand bags?

No. ZiplocĀ® Brand bags are not designed to withstand the extreme heat of boiling.

I didn't think Ziploc bags could stand extreme heat. I'd be worried the chemicals in the plastic would break down.

I would suggest that you make sure that there is no air in the bag.

Got this from a friend in Canada.
Beat 2 eggs put in ZIPLOC bag , add what you like -cheese , mushrooms , ham etc and boil for 13 minutes -omelette will come out perfect. You can make several at once -all different !
