So they have, I wondered why my headache was slower to come along today.

Much better, I can nearly cope now lol

There's no way GR actually pull in £93M a year, that's based on membership figures and those include lapsed memberships and free accounts.

To be honest, I don't think we get a great deal for the £10, but I've made some great connections on here that have made it worthwhile...wouldn't pay anymore than that and I don't think we should have to put up with ads when we pay to use the site. So, I don't (I have firefox and adblock plus and have used it since the flashing ads that caused spyware/trojan probs early in the year).

I see people in this thread are still putting up with the adverts!

If you don't want to, you don't have to. Really.

Look here on the chat board:

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards.asp?wci=thread&tk=1110035

Unfortunately, the site owners have not seen fit to make any actual *improvements* to the way this site functions, like making it possible to make clickable links. So you'll have to copy and paste that into your address bar (or just change the numbers at the end to 1110035).

Get Firefox + Adblock.
Or install NoFlash if you want to keep using Internet Explorer.

Read the testimonials!

You'll wonder how you got along without them. :)

--- I've nudged that thread up again on Chat so it should stay on the first page for a bit, for anyone still not adept at copying and pasting the URL.

Wider message area maybe. But that flashing blue scottie is driving me crazy! Beam him into outer space Scottie, please ! Does any one take any notice of the ads, BTW? (If it was George Clooney's address then I may - LOL!) Have now got an "after-effect flashbulb image" of that ad in my left eye.

What does that work out at if 9,300,000 of them have left? LOL

Buggs, did you realise that if they really have 9,343,321members (which is what it says on the home page), then at c£10 each annual subscription, they are making over £93 MILLION each year from us...

LOL Buggs but it would be nice if it was free wouldn't it?

I can't see any difference in the colours... perhaps it's just that there is a smaller amount of white to hurt your eyes.

Yes the sizing is now a lot better.

I can read the messages without scrolling across constantly.

I just switched back to the GR colours and I think they are a little less glaring.
The background doesn't seem as bright or is that my imagination?
I like the fact that I can return to any choice of colour I prefer if my eyes get tired.

Looks even better viewing via Firefox with AdBlock!

I've just learned from another thread how to make the screen and text the colours I want. So I've changed mine to a pleasant cream background and black text using the Firefox tools.

Oh, so they have, it now takes up 75% of the width screen instead of about 60%.... much better I think...but could be better still me thinks.

the page is wider for the messages now and the advert bit smaller, when did they do that.
