Mo,

Do what the Mrs and I do.......a good doze of Lubricating Oil on all the joints.

Probably dosen't work but it's great fun rubbing it on. ROFL

Serously though. My wife and I also feel the old joints creak and groan and spend more time sitting down than actually walking but we enjoy it.

The thigh muscles in my left leg have some damage and I find my leg begins to drag a bit and feels heavy when I do strenuous walking.

When I go with my son when he's at home I have a fairly tough day out. Next day I know I've been exercising.

A far cry from the days when I ran up the hills with a heavy pack.on my back. I was even crazier then than I am now !!!!!!!!!

The W.D 40, doesn't work on us anymore. Roly takes the cod liver oil capsules, and the rubs don't work either, we tried, and never got out of the front door. LOL

Stephen2009 Report 6 Feb 2011 20:15

Mo,

You don't drink the WD 40 do you ?

The problem with an Oil Rub is that you start slipping all over the place.

Mo in Kent

Mo in Kent Report 6 Feb 2011 20:22

Oh no thats where we were going wrong then, I thought it was a new drink on the market, something like the WKD drinks. So W.D 40'S not a drink,oh boy he fooled me there then
The Oil was great for the wooden floor though, no need to polish it any more.

,

Thank God we can at least laugh at ourselves.

The joke current in our family about their old Paw is that I'll soon be like Long John Silver.

I'm slowly going blind in my right eye and have problems with my left leg.

'Have it off' they say and 'Wear a Patch over your eye'

Can you imagine it............Peg Leg and Eye Patch. ROFL

I am in work tomorrow, yes. This is my last Sunday for about 5 weeks.

We get out bonus at the end of March, and if we do too much overtime Feb/March, it get swallowed up in tax. So no-one bothers, and they cant get anyone to come in on Sundays. We dont know how much it will be this year, but last year it was 15 percent, which was fab.

Oh Neil Oliver - swoons. I do like long hair on a bloke. Reminds me of an old flame who had long golden locks, he looked at himself in EVERY shop window we passed. Gave him the BIG E.

Dont know if you have seen the article in the Mail. Waitrose Baby Bottom Butter is being used by those in the know, as a face moisturiser. It is cheap, about 2.50 a pot, and they are all raving about it.

I bought a pot when it first came out, and use it on my hands, knees and feet, but have yet to smear it over my face.

All those poor little babies with nuffink to put on their bums.
lol

Stephen when I use to limp on either the right side ot left depending on which hurt the most, My husband use to tell me to take the lose change out of my pocket then I would walk without a limp LOl.

He was like that had a good senses of houmor , I never stopped laughing being married to him. or was it because I married him,. we were married 38 years.nearly 39 when he died.,

Funny name for a babies bottom cream why butter I wondered did you put it on with a knife. ?.

My father in Law use to use Coconut oil for his head he was going thin on top. and swore that this would make it grow again.

we did the Strollathon quite a few times.

That was a 10 mile walk, taking in all the attractions of London.

The kids did it with us, it was a breeze, so many fascinating things to look at, you didnt realise how far you were walking.

Needs must Shelly, needs must.

Evening everyone
Well yesterday was fun in the end, though hard work getting it all ready.
Son really did seem surprised though I guess he thought something was happening, if not a party with friends and family,
The food was very good a mix of home prepared, sandwiches from friends and M&S party food. Took a bit of cooking but most of it was eaten.
Had bacon and eggs this morning with mushrooms for 5, son & wife, hubby and me and FIL. Hubby & FIL took sons dog for an hours walk after. Son took FIL back to his flat, then he came back here and we had a scratch lunch of left over bits.
I packed hubby a lunch box and sent a tea home with FIL. Not much left now. Had a salad tea myself.
Put vacuum around since everyone went home.
Been trying to do some research, but can't seem to get anywhere at the moment.
Looking for family in India and a family member who got an MBE?
Hope you all sleep well. Hubby on last day tomorrow, home around midnight and then 3 days off.

Linda :o) XxXX

Morning to all,
grey and overcast here and we're in for some heavy rain later.
Not too busy today so might get some research done (while little ones have their nap), if I dont fall asleep !!

Shelly that toast didnt sound very tasty, lol. If my son offered to make me something I'd want to know what he was after. Marilyns meal sounded delicious didnt it.

Rita I hope Mike is home today, fingers crossed.

Hope everyone has a good day,

Cath xx
