Morning all
Well it has rained a lot overnight here. It is overcast still and not very inviting.
Walked a fair bit yesterday, first with hubby after taking the car for a service then with my daughter taking her lurcher out for a walk around.
She had her scan yesterday and all is well. She has a date of late February so we could have a leap year baby !!! She has her next scan at 20 weeks in October and that dates more acurately.
Marilyn Hubby is retiring at the end of September. He finally did it.
George I love Winchester. We often go to the Farmers Market there on Sundays. My family came from Winchester too so I find I really enjoy being there. I was born and bred in Southall West London, but we have gradually moved west. Then a year or so ago I found my Great Grandfathers mother was born in Wokingham and we love it there too. I wonder if we are drawn to places connected with our ancestors?

Morning all,
Mo, daughters 21st is 8th September but we are going for the meal on the 9th as its a Friday and nobody will have work on the saturday. She is going on holiday to Cyprus with her partner at the end of September and that will be the first time shes gone abroad. :-)

I am in Guernsey for those of you who don't know already. No chance of meeting anyone at a GR meet methinks. :-( :-(

Raining again this morning, what a dismal summer it's been :-P
Have a huge pile of ironing to do this morning and no excuse not to so will be back later if I don't get swallowed up by it.

It has rained during the night. I slepted off and on all night when I could not get back to sleep out came my book and I read a couple of chapters before I went off again.
Your have company then Linda with you OH retiring. my John never retired he died when he was 61. I always felt sad for him he worked all his life was in the Army and then he dieds.we had planned what we would do when he retired.

Cath we may not meet at a meet LOL but we may meet because one of us is holidaying in Guernsey look at me I spent the day in Guernsey when I was in Weymouth on Holiday. we might had been able to meet.? evenj if it was only for a cup of tea in a cafe. next time I will let you know.


Pat it sounds nice a road lined with trees. but they may look nice but you can get problems I lived twice in tree lined roads we had trouble with leaves when they fell. also with roots that grew up on to pavements cracking the path and even under walls

where I live now in Surrey we have a large area of trees when I walk to and from the shops they grow quickly and we get long feelers hanging over the paths the council do come and cut them back but due to the cuts they put it off as long as they can. I also have a canal not that far from me and where I shop we have a Lake and loads of fields.

Had some bad news yesterday, son was made redundant from work, gutted as we were planning to holiday later together, Oh well thats life as they say.

been siting in the garden looking at my tomatos thay have just gone mad
thay are like a big bush and the punkings well dont say any more about them thay have took over and i hat to cut the end off

I threw mine out years ago and refuse to buy more, the damn things always depress me :-(
Now I just try to eat sensibly, exercise more and don't get stressed about it. I am me and on the whole I'm happy with who I am. :-D OH still loves me,and that is all that matters. :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

this head stone is of all children mostly age 5 that got killed in WW1 1917
and iv done a tree search and there is over 8 trees that have one of theaes children in there tree

the stone is from east london cemetery

Its just about Cyprus , as you said your daughter was going there I thought I would let you know about the Time Share Touts that can be Bl@@dy nuisance on the Island.
All their scratch cards are winners !! and then they call a taxi for you because you have a wonderful prize that awaits you at a destination ....where upon a sales man insists taking you around a new development of apartments and Villa's BEFORE you get the prize !!! a bottle of wine or a free weekend in one of the Apartments, all so wonderful when your on holiday .
Then after 3hrs of keeping you there they get you or try to sign for one of these Apartments ....So beware !!

I have been going to Cyprus for 25yrs every January and these touts have increased enormously . the Cypriot Police cannot get a grip of it .
But Pete has some very charming softly spoken words for them before they offer the scratch card ..LOL

Its a lovely Island ......so your daughter will enjoy herself minus these scam touts.

I did wonder what that grave stone was all about, I haven't seen a rosary on a headstone before ....where they Catholic's ?

i did wounder if a prest just put it on there as the children was all so young
it looks to me as if it is one of them things thay put round there wast with the big cross haning down

but by the looks of the cross it as been there for all wasy
