Daughter is fine. She works in electronic assembly and uses the tweezers in her job, they are long and sharp. She's a menace, always been accident prone but I don't think she'll be doing that again :-S :-S

(((((((big hugs))))))) for Jean, hope you feel a lot better soon. <3

Thanks for the update Mo
Sending Jeaaan healing thoughts too oooooooooooooooooooooo <3 <3 <3ooooooooooooooooooo

George the paint is a chalk base for french distressed style furniture which was a long process. This paint has no prep, no rubbing down etc. Goes staight on to wood, painted or varnished and other finishes too
One thick coat, one water thinned coat and then you can wax if you want and voila.
The brushes wash out in water too. Even if left for a while they still wash out !!!
I'll let you know how I get on.
I have done the first coat this evening while hubby is out . It's a utility chest of drawers that I am doing.

Sleep well my friends

Linda :-) <3

Morning all.

It's horrible here, really dark and stotting down. Hope it isn't like this all day, got to go to see my aunt today.

Cath, your daughter sounds like Shelly's youngest son................ by the way, where is Shelly? Didn't see her on here yesterday.

Mo, thanks for the update about Jean, poor soul, she's been through such a lot.

0000000000000000000000000000 <3 <3 <3 000000000000000000000000000 for Jean.

Marilyn, it's such a shame about your niece, I hope the medication works for her.

Foggy, you don't come on here very often but your words are well chosen............. 'young women', I like those words. :-)

George, are you unable to drive because of your accident? Would you be able to drive with a specially adapted car?

That paint sounds good Linda, what's it called?

How much does it cost for a season ticket these days Pat?

Pauline what is Stotting ?
Foggy having George on here is a blessing, he always comes back with a bit of wit. we should hear more from you as well.

Jean I am so sorry to hear how the chemo is treating you. after you have had so much of it, you would think it would not be so bad the after effects.my brother in Law he use to be the same after he had his chemo he was before he went and had it done isnt it strange how it afrfects people. lots og hugs for yoy Jean xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I watched WDYTYA last night wasnt it strange how his family tree went into Slavery and jumped from Jamaica and to New York two different ypes of the world. it was interesting though. next week we have Larry Lamb.

It is getting really dark here I think we are in for rain.
see you later

Poor Jean.......I'm not surprised she's not feeling well, gosh I only had one lot of Cemo and that was enough you just feel so drained.
I'm sure Jean has had several lots over the last few years bless her.

Morning all the Friendlies
It is dire here. It was lighter when I got up at 7:00. It is so dark I have lights on, and it is tipping down. So I won't be going out or doing any washing today. Just some ironing as always.

Pauline the paint is by Annie Sloan, you can find it on the internet. I'll let you know how the second coat goes today.

I have cleared the small bedroom this morning as my daughter wants to stay for 2 or 3 nights as her partner is working at the Reading Festival. Poor thing I think it's going to be another wet and muddy weekend there. It was quite a job as everything from the double room was in there too. I must sort out all my stuff, but how do I get rid of it? I know I am a hoarder, or keeper.

I'll try to get back on later.

Healing thoughts for Jean

It is raining heavy here I looked out the window and the car park was once again like a lake. good job I dont have a car and have to go out to get into it,. ?

Marilyn did you get your Devon Family Historian Book ? mine has just come. not had a chance to look through it yet. as friend just brought a New family History magazine this months and she gave me it to read before she did . she said it had an article on Norfolk and Trace your Celtic Cousins articles. so I have plenty to read during this bad weather.

I hope the rain stops later on so I can go and get my Take a Break and Chat books I want to do my puzzels.

I am going to Scotland tomorrow with my kilt on and play the bagpipes to see if it makes Stephen want to come home. mmmmm maybe not it might make him stay away for good.

Good afternoon
The rain has passed through and we have a lovely sunny break. Hubby is sitting in the sun having a siesta after coming in from work, well he was up at 5:00.

I finished the chest of drawers, and I am quite pleased with them. They certainly look nicer in the room than the old french polish would have done.
Next I have the dressing table to do.

Well not sure what we will have for dinner yet will sort that out next.

Have a nice evening everyone

Linda :o) Xxx

PS I have had trouble adding and getting the error message, for the first time. Then it added 4 times !!!!

Afternoon all,

What a thing trying to get to this page today, gave up in the end..lol.

Hope you all have had a brilliant day today.

Rita, perhaps Stephen got a leeward gust of wind up his kilt and he is in his sick bed with a cold....I will not say what ;-) ;-)
Have told the old bot he should come on this thread, I know he looks in everyday, think hes too bashful....lolol.

George :-D :-D :-D :-D

Spiders Marilyn, I hate them, I check my bed before I get into it this time of year.
Maybe Stephen liked where he went so much, he stayed.
Good afternoon George,
Dermot, I think you can stop looking for Gadaffi, I'm watching sky news and I think they have him surrounded.
I hope things soon get better for Jean.

Linda, I had a look at that paint on Google, I'd never heard of chalk paint before, it looks good, you'll have to send us a photo of your handy work when you've finished.

Rita, stotting means bouncing, the rain was so heavy it was stotting off the ground. I didn't think stotting was just a northern word. Thankfully it wasn't stotting too long.

Dermot, it wasn't your own birthday you forgot was it? God help you if it was your wife's birthday.

George, I'm sure Foggy would like us if he gave us a chance, and as he thinks of us as young................. we definitely like him.

I think it's time to call in the air-sea rescue for Stephen, he's been gone too long.
