Dermot, no one knows the hard and fast rules about parenting. We all enter it blind, and learn as we go along. There will be mistakes that we make along the way, and we learn from them. I believe that there is not a book written on parenting, and any star who tried to write one, would find that others would disagree with the way they manage things. It has never been easy to be the adult, and to try to teach your child, when you may be a beginner yourself, and not know how to tackle things, you learn as you go along, be it the right or wrong way. I have to admit to admiring the Beckhams, for the way they have raised their children. David, when not playing football, seems to spend a lot of love, time and devotion to his children. But even if we had their money, I don't know if we would have raised our children any other way. Our five, have grown to be open, honest, hard working individuals, and loving parents themselves.

Evening all friendlies, trouble getting on this thread since yesterday :-( its becoming a real pain in the bum. :-\ Marilyn have a wonderful holiday, we will all miss you. Shelly be a good girl and make that appointment or we will all be worrying about you. ;-) Its been a lovely sunny day but with a chilly breeze. OH and I got some fish and chips for our tea and were going to eat them on the beach but it was too cold so we ate them in the car. Got loads done on my tree today so I'm a happy bunny. Hit a brickwall now though so having a break for a while. Might need some help from the boards to track down one troublesome ancestor. Has Stevey abandoned us altogether?
Back later if I can, <3 <3 <3 to all and (((((((hugs))))))) for Jean,
Cath xx

Evening all Hope Marilyn enjoys her trip to America. She is doing something I have wanted to do. Maybe in the future, when we will have a bit more time. Shelly please look after yourself, nobody else will. We had the family here, meat was BBQ'd but we stayed inside as the weather was too changeable, not as nice as yesterday. All gone home now, hubby did a lot of the clearing up, so not much to do in the morning. We should have a restful day tomorrow. Oh I got some lovely pansies in Tesco so I need to plant them.
Sleep well
Healing thoughts for Jean oooooooooooooo <3 <3 <3ooooooooooooo

Home is the sailor, home from sea:
The Yachts white sails now furled
She now lies shining on the waves
Returned from a different World.
'Tis evening on the moorland free,
The starlit wave is still:
Home is the sailor from the sea,
The Climber from the hill.
Morning all !
Returned home late last night..........from a fantastic wee break.
Gonna take a bit of time to adjust to 'normal' life again.
Will scan back a bit to see what's been happening.
HOPE YOU ALL ARE WELL. :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

To help answer the question 'Where have you been ? '
If you do a Google for the following........................
1. Hebridean Sailing Photos
2. Arisaig Sailing Photos.
3. Isle of Skye Climbing Photos.
This will give you a good idea of my wanderings and why I was so reluctant to return to everyday life.
Have a good day ya all. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

Hi Stephen, I've had a look at the google things. I like Arisaig. Quite near Fort William which I've been to. Miles up Scotland. I realised this after I'd booked the coach tour back in 2002 :-0
I don't intend overdoing it at the gym. Just gentle exercise- in moderation. I'm no fitness freak! Doing a bit of reading and going to watch an Agatha Christie film then off out to the local park where there is some sort of a fun day.

Morning everyone Welcome back Stephen, Marilyn is off on the seas to America now, she will be sorry she missed you!!! We were getting worried about you. Much better day here so far, the sun is shining, but is cool, quite autumnal really. Off to see father in law in a bit. He is near High Wycombe so might combine it with a visit to Hughendon Manor NT
Hopefully get back later
Linda :o) :-) <3

The board was a nightmare for me to get on yesterday. I thought my computer was down at one time ? then the lettering got so big but I managed to correct it this morning it was the percentages at the bottom
I have just finished doing my washing and the sun is out. but there is a nip in the air, I expect Marilyn has boarded the ship by now? she said she was leaving early.
Stephen you must be a very fit man. I would like half your energy. glad you had a good time, now it is back to reality
Shelly if you come acoss any HORWOOD or LEE Graves on your trot to the cemetery I would be pleased if you would let me know. ? some of my HORWOOD were buried in Paddington some are in Kensal Rise one

Hello folks. Welcome home Stephen, we have missed you, you cheeky wee thing. George and Dermot, tried to keep our chins up for us, but we did miss your banter, even if it does drive us doolally at times. LOL
Yvonne, we have been in Sussex today. We went to Hastings, but stopped on the way, at Alexandra Park for a few hours. When we decided we would drive down to the old town, to see what changes had been made to the seafront, we were sooo shocked, we got to the first roundabout, and the traffic was nose to tail right through to the sea front. So we turned around and came back home. But it was lovely in the park, they were having a dog show there, not as grand as Crufts and for scruffier dogs, but it was lovely to see the different types off dogs on show.
Tea time, see ya's laters. Mo xxx
