Afternoon All,
Pauline, If all of your sinks are blocked then go outside and lift the inspection cover to the drains, you may have a blockage there, or see if your main soil pipe has an inspection plate. If it has, take it off and shove a hosepipe down it and turn the tap on, that might clear it. Do you ever clean the P traps under your sinks, they often get lots of muck build up in them.
Evening DameShelly, Stephen, RitaMowtownGal, Cath2010, MO, Agatha and PatricaAnn, hope I haven't missed anyone.
I managed, with help to clean my cottage from top to bottom today, job well done, and while I am on my holiday I am having some decorating done for me :-) :-) :-) :-) I am well happy. LOL.
George :-D :-D :-D :-D

Oh what a difference a little sun makes. Got the washing out and dry. Shopped and ordered the bedroom carpet. It will be fitted next week too. Cleared more than half a huge fitted wardrobe in said bedroom. Got rid of a load of paperwork, but loads more to check and shread. Will do some ironing before hubby returns around midnight, before I turn into a pumpkin !!! Started another little hat too, last night. Lets hope for another nice day tomorrow as my daughter is coming at lunchtime to take her dog for a walk again.
Enjoy your evening all
Linda :-) <3

George...decorating....hope you leave strict instruction as to what you want. You might come back to a Polka Dot lounge if you don't
Rita, that Newsagent can't be needing the business if they wont deliver a few magazines.
Had my tea, fairly early tonight, now about to put my feet up for an hour or two. A glass of Irn-Bru might just be in order.
Catch you later.

well enjoy your evening Stephen and dont get a sore head with all that drink lol. I am going to tell the Newsagent what they can do with their books tomorrow. I dont like to be blackmailed, thats how I feel.
I am also fumming at the Government getting rid of the servicemen and women. they had the cheek to say they wont be getting rid of the ones in Afganistan I should hope not. , there out there fighting for someone else because of the Government They want to get rid of some of the top brass first.. we will soon have nothing maybe they have the idea of us joining forces with the French.
I suppose because they are so young they have no idea what is what with the forces never having lived through a war. sorry but I am angry about it.
I am going to watch some Tv now and do my crossword puzzel.

Hello, Hello, Hello,
Must be a day for plumbing nightmares.
A pipe in my Central Heating system has sprung a bad leak. Managed to isolate the pipe and prevent any water damage.
A wee job for tomorrow.
About to watch a programme on 9/11. Hardly seems that ten years have passed since it happened.
Reduction in the Armed Forces.......Is nothing sacred ?
Heard today that John McAleese an SAS fellow who was one of the Team that stormed the Iranian Embassy after PC Yvonne Fletcher was Murdered has died in Greece, He was 62. The family are at a loss as to how to get his body back, it will cost £20,000.
Perhaps with the saving the Government will make in reducing the Armed Forces they might make a goodwill gesture and repatriate his body.
John and I lived near each other when we were young.
May he rest in Peace.

Morning everyone, OH is a plumber, shall I send him down the cyber hatch? :-D
Stephen it was sad to read of the death of John McAleese. The government should definitely bring him home for his family, its the least they can do for a man who I believe also lost his son in Afghanistan.
Looks like its going to be another lovely day here, already sunny and quite warm. No work today but the weekly shop with mum :-( I must remain calm. Don't want the blood pressure going any higher.
Hope all our friendlies are well,
Cath xx

Morning All,
Damp and miserable here this morning......and that's just me I'm talking about :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
Cath, John died on the eve of the anniversary of the death of his son Paul. He was killed two years ago. He has another son Kieran, a daughter Hayley and a step-daughter Jessica. Obviously the whole family are devastated. His twin brother, Billy, is taking it particularly hard.
About to start fixing my plumbing leak.
Keep safe, keep happy, keep smiling
:-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Rita,
Good for you keeping those Waste Traps and pipes clean. It's saves a lot of trouble if you prevent a blockage happening.
My wife used to think you could pour virtually anything down the sink. She is now a lot wiser. Thank goodness.

Afternoon everyone
I went and told them at the paper shop they could cross me off the delivery list as I didnt like being blackmailed and have to order a newspaper to get my mags deleivered there were about 12 people waiting to be served and she was the only one on duty
I caught the bus into Town then it was so hot on the bus. I had a young women next to me in thr (OLD PEOPLES SEATS ) she had her push chair in the gap on the bus two children at the back ond one on seat in the front. she had her mobile on and was speaking so loud she them put her feet on the hand bars while she was speaking and she had those great big heeled shoes I have never seen anything like it . I didnt say anything only when I got on I asked her to move her bag as I needed to sit down. an elderly women got and and she did have a go at this young girl told her to get up the seat was for the elderly the girl did, she was going hell for leather at the young girl telling her she had to walk with her children she didnt have all this and that in her dayand as for putting her feet up on the bars people hang onto. They young girl should have known better but I felt sorry for her the way she was being told off. I was glad to get off the bus in Woking. took my blouses back as they were a size too small then went and got some christmas cards in Card Warehouse and brought next years calenders as well. I was tired when I got home and hot. but at least I did all I wanted to do.
Last night I watched the Irish Dancing did anyone else > it was the dancing finals. it was really good. those young people are so good at it.
time for a cup of tea now.

Hi all, I've had company today so didn't get the chance to log on until now.
George, I couldn't get the waste trap off so I had to wait for my husband coming home. There wasn't much gunk in the trap and the outside drain looked clear so he had to take some of the pipe off behind the sink unit and put the hosepipe down there.
Anyway, he cleared it and managed to put everything back together without breaking anything............ to my amazement!!
Thank you everybody for all the helpful tips. I Googled Spirit of Salts and decided it might melt the pipes.... :-D :-D my God Maddie, that's powerful stuff.
Rita, I'm going to get some soda crystals to put down the plugholes once a week to help keep them clear.
Stephen, that's sad news about your friend, his family must be devastated.
Maddie, if you do come up here next year........ I can't pretend to make lovely cream teas like Marilyn does but I make an OK cup of coffee............ and I've always got wine in!!
