Morning all
Brighter here this morning but looks a bit breezy.
I have put a load of books out for the British Heart Foundation, they happened to have put a sack through and they actually take the things to the shops. So that saves me trying to get hubby to drive me to a charity shop with them. Somebody else might enjoy them and I need to sort out loads more.

Off for coffee this afternoon at an old friends, seen her around the village but not got together for about 15 years.

Can't believe the children are back ti school this week. Where did that 6 weeks go?

Nice and bright and warm so far so I hope you are all gettingthe same weather.as I am.
Wash day today,not me my clothes .I only wash once a week,. lol

In my sisters district and some others places they start the new comers off first so they go to school and can get around and see what is what ? and get to know each other then the next day the other students start. which is a good idea, as those going to the new school for the first time
dont get caught out with where to go in the school.
My neice Susannah is so looking forward to going to her new school today. she has been on about it for days her brother who is two years older than her goes to the same school.

I was watching some TV yesterday and thought what sort of a world do we live in ? when we keep getting people telling us what we should eat or drink or do ? .we know bread and take away food have more salt in but if people want to have food with more salt in why should they keep being told it is bad for you ?and things like smoking, drinking if people want to do this it is their life and if they drink and smoke they know what can happen. we are after all adults.

Yvonne I had hoped someone would point that out. I did it on purpose.
I am in that mood today.
my friend was here she got my shopping from Morrisons and while she was here someone tapped on the window (they do that when they want me for something,) ? she asked if I had finished my laundry ? as she wanted to do some. I said yes I had finished a hour ago.but John is booked in to do his laundry about 2 oclock .?
she said thats OK then only Les has booked for a tumble at 1. o'clock that started me off,I said your lucky . she realised what she had said and so three of us were really laughing by then.(Les has a washing machine but uses the dryer in the laundry room.)

I managed to get out and post my 6 letters this morning (another job done).and arranged a pick-up for my visit to St Lukes hospital on 20th of the month.

I am using a key board where a lot of numbers have vanished I no longer have E R.T.A.S.and F is starting to vanish as well.
It is the latest model of Microsoft.
It is harder now to make sure I am using the right Letter.
ROL the R is missing but I got that one right.

Hello everyone, hope you are all keeping warm, I think winter has arrived early, I put my heating on when I got back from Christies.
Only 2 more treatments, hooray!! [ just realised that looks very ungrateful]
I seem to have a lot of catching up to do with this thread, will try to get up to date after tea,
Hope anyone who is on holiday is having better weather than we are at the moment, cold, damp and very windy here today.
Was planning to go on the roads this weekend but the forecast isn't very promising, just hope I can get a few more journeys in before the really bad weather sets in.
Off to make tea now then I can settle down and read all the posts and catch up with all your news.

Hi Pauline like the Teddy for Olly.

I just had a two page email from my Granddaughter Georgia who is getting married on saturday, she said her husband to be went to collect the wedding rings and his was two sizes too small the man who made it was on holiday but he phoned and they are sending the right ring to him..

then one of the bridesmaids dress had to go back to the dressmaker as the stitching came away next she went to the florist to make sure she had the right flowers ? and arrangements to fine they had move five shops along and had not told her..
Then her husband to went to get his suit and they had laid out a blue suit with blue accessories it would have been a black morning suit with blue accessories but they sorted that, she said everything is going wrong Nan even the weather is suppose to be against us.
Poor Girl she is so worried.

Wet and horrible here too.
Hubby is now off for 2 weeks, so retirement is coming round quickly.
Not sure what I will do today. Did the ironing yesterday. Can't get washing out today so I won't bother.
Met with friends for tea and a chat yesterday afternoon and saw one ladie's daughter who I haven't seen for possibly 15 years!!

Morning even if it is nearly lunch time I have been doing my little jobs, recharged my mobile and now the camera. I have t sort out what I am going to take with me on Thursday.

I didnt have a problem getting on this thread makes a change someone told me we are having this trouble due to the amount of numbers on the thread. but not sure if that is right.? I didnt get a reply after I emailed GR and asked why we were getting this problem.?

Stephen I think it is my mind when people say things I take it a different ways.If Babs had said Les put his name down in the laundry book to use the tumble dryer it would not have been so funny. but to say he wanted a tumble that had me in stitches..

But I blew my top this morning. being in the next flat I get all the door rings. for our Estate Manager.
First would I sign the form to say the window cleaners had been and done the window otherwise they would not get paid.( not suprised the rain was so heavy I am surprised he could hold the hose up to the windows.) I signed cannot let him go without being paid. .all this because our Estate Manager is at a regular monthly meeting. she works 19 hours a week. Now the gardners have arrived and once again I have had to deal with this.they have been trimming the hedges in the pouring rain.
next the postman asked would I sign for her parcel. I did
then someone asked could I open the laundryroom door one of the contractors needed to use the loo.which is in the laundryroom.


I think I should be living here without having to pay maintainence every month

My friend from across the lawn came and said dont do it. but I feel guilty if I dont. does she every help me NO.

My soap box again is now empty if someone wants to use it.

note this afternoon I thought I would sit and watch a film made in 1943 " The Gentle Sex " have seen it many times before, only it has been on so many times I had the remote full up and still you could not hear them speaking . when the adverts came on I had to turn the remote right down. I dont know what they will do when the mouths dont work .

Rita, I think I would get annoyed getting all the requests from all the folk to sign this, sign that. BUT, if you're at home and as long as it's not too inconvenient I'm sure the tradesfolk really appreciate what you do. It's certainly very commendable.

Back from West London. It was very wet and still is here in Berkshire. Don't think any drains coped very well with the obvious downpours. Ugh really nasty out.

Well my parents are OK though slowing down noticably and Mum's memory is really bad. My niece also popped in as she is off work this week before starting a new job on Monday. Mum didn't know who my niece's parents were? Shame really as she was always on the ball. She seemed Ok with us, and we haven't been there since March, oh we saw them both in hospital in June, there I nearly forgot too !!
We had Fish & Chips for lunch, but I won't need anything else today the chip portion was huge. I shared one bag between 3 and a few left for hubby too. Good job we only ordered 2 servings between all 4 of us.

Off to do some knitting now

Hi Pat
I have an emergency dental appointment tomorrow morning. Hot gums and aching jaw, think I might have an abcess where I am having the remains of a tooth taken out in October. Ouch !!

We have also arranged to go and see a local gym together for our retirement project of getting a bit fitter LOL. Not much chance of us loosing much weight as that doesn't seem to work.
