Rita Report 20 Apr 2010 15:27

I can now tell you all what a day I had.
first the lady came to pick me up to take me to the hospital at Ashford at 10.45 my appointment was for 11.40 she was a retired nurse from NZ. she got lost and we went around the same round about three times. passed the police with their camera's taking photos of the traffic stopped once and asked them the way we past them again and again. time was getting on. we went one side of the river the otherside of the river and was getting further away from the hospital I said to her we are at camberly now thats where my younger son lives.. we stopped asked three more people eventually I reconized a building and told her we have to go along here and it is the first turning on the left hurray we arrived at 11. 50 I had to sit for an hour to drink the ancieed but they took someone else in before me I went into the scan room at 1. 30 and then she injected my arm I had told her I was on warfarin and would bleed if they used to bigger needle guess what I bled she kept pressing on my arm to try and stop it. then she did the scan when she took the needles out of my arm it started again so she made me sit outside her room for 10 minutes to make sure it had stopped bleeding I got home tired hungry and thirsty at 2.30.
It was the worst day I had going to that hospital nothing seem to go right it was just one of those days.

Mo in Kent Report 20 Apr 2010 18:35

Evening all.
Well we lost at darts last night. Still I have got the pairs next week,so fingers crossed we do a bit better then.
We have had such a lovely day,we have been down the coast to Ramsgate
Had lunch out, consisting off gammon steak, pineapple, chips and peas, lovely. I was to full to have any dessert.
It was lovely down there,a little breezy, but fine with a coat on.
We were watching the extra ferries going in and out, presumably bringing
holiday makers home.
Rita, your day sounds like something from one off the carry on films. Now just try and chill out, after all your excitement, off getting lost.

GRMarilyn Report 20 Apr 2010 20:34

Shelly ...pass it this way....I'll gobble it up .LOL

I got a leg of lamb for Thursday as my lot are all coming for dinner I have bought a very large leg of lamb that was priced at £14-95 never have I ever paid that much for a leg of lamb..!

But I love lamb & mint sauce...so Shelly if you give me some of yours down the Cyber Hatch.......I'll give you some of mine on Thursday.

Now I'm knackered I have been out and about today, saw my Dad that has booked to go to Ireland in June, why I asked him at your age.... you should stick to your own home ground. !
My god he does not listen to any of his children or his wife of 96yrs that has to carry both cases. now that is selfish dont you think ?
Because he's a bit unsteady on his feet he thinks he's fit for traveling.

We are hoping it gets cancelled as there might not be enough people going on the coach.

Going to watch telly for a change.....back tomorrow.

Mo sorry you didnt win but it is the game after all you are suppose to enjoy your turn will come.
Marilyn I have not look at the GRO index for Walter my sister still say they lost an isaac Walter I said mybe but this one was born in 1873 but I will work my way through it somehow I am not going to give up.
Hi Shelly it is like my Dad he was Arnold charles Lee and he was called cbarles by everyone except my Mum and Gran and my mother sister who called him Arnie

I have not been well after my scan infact I felt quiet ill and had two bed nose bleeds i had to go to bed with the first one as I was scared I would fall over. I got up made a cup of tea then had another nose bleed so I am being careful now I have my warfarin test on thurday morning so I am going to tell them when I go there as it could be the in jections they give you at the scan

My Great Grandsons birthday tomorrow Charlie's one of twins Oscar died three hours after birth so it is a happy time and a sad time he lays in Cherry Tree Cemetery in a little graved shaped like a craddle and the children go there and put a birthday card on the grave and some flowers.

Hi Rita
It is my Fathers birthday tomorrow. He wil be 82 but he decided to drive to his brother in Lincolnshire !!! Got my poor mother up at 4:00(as he was there by 7:30) He must be mad???? He is still trying to prove that he is in charge.
I hope you feel better, no more nose bleeds.

The dentist was fine. He's leaving the damaged tooth as it gives no problems and both hubby and I only need a scale and polish so just the basic charge of £16:50 each. And he can see us in 10 days quite quick.

I spent a bit in M&S this morning. I changed a pair of trousers that were too big, got a new sweat shirt jumper, some cut off trousers for when I go away with my Canadian cousin after the wedding. I also got new sheets and pillow cases in a dusky lilac, a change from boring white. Really hard to get a flat sheet as we don't have a duvet only a blanket/fleece. I got new bath mats too and some cards.

Well off to bed as I am dropping and hubby is asleep in the chair

Oh what a lot you all get up to lol

Rita, I do hope you are feeling better after the palaver of getting to the hospital and the problems you had there too. That sulphur smell was from the volcano as lots of people all over the place smelled it too, ugh!

Shelly, Marilyn sent me the pic of Olly, thanks Marilyn, he is scrumptious, I do miss contact with little ones, I did childminding for so long and now don't have any little ones to spend time with.

Counselling still going ok altho it's going to take a while to make much progress I think, but it feels ok talking about the things in my childhood etc that I think I have squashed down in the past. Just hope it all helps me address my hoarding problems eventually.

take care of yourselves, still very chilly wind in Norwich altho the days have been bright and sunny, I wish I could have a normal sleep pattern so I didn't miss so much daylight.

love

I wanted no added prices etc like scratch proof water resistant or any other that they like to add afterwards..LOL... As I change them so often whats the point ?

So I'm off out after me bath.

Now where is Pauline ? not seen her for yonks ?
Yvonne seems to be a Bizzy Bee lately..... come back Yvonne !!

Lady well ...must be up her tree I think she has a tree house smewhere on that farm.

Morning everyone.

That's better Marilyn, this is more like you, I was worried about you getting up early but you seem to be back to your normal self now. By the way, you really need those new glasses if you haven't seen me for yonks - I was here yesterday morning.......lol

Rita you had a terrible day yesterday, nothing went right for you, hope today is better.

It's freezing here, bright and sunny but freezing. I'm hoping to get the heating back on by tonight, yesterday we had no heat, no hot water and no gas. My son's care worker brought 2 oil heaters round last night so we could put one at each side of his chair to keep the chill off him.

Linda I think you've caught the spending bug off Marilyn, it's very contagious you know. She passed it on to me years ago and I still have it.

Shelly your dinner made me fancy lamb, think I'll do roast lamb with roast potatoes tomorrow. Can't do it today because I can't get into the kitchen - the workmen have got some of the floor up and I'm not sure they'll get it back down by tonight.

Aww Mo, sorry you didn't win the darts, ask Marilyn to lend you a pair of her new glasses when she gets them today...........being able to see the board will help :o))

Glad to hear the counselling is still going OK Liz.

Rita Report 21 Apr 2010 14:15

Pauline I wished I had read your thread before I ventured out today

my morning.

I thought to cheer myself up after a rotten yesterday I would go and treat myself to a hair do. mine was like a bush having been stuck indoor for three weeks with my bad leg.
so off I go bus late I waited 15 minutes bus comes. get to Woking looking forward to my hair being done blow the money.
On the bus came to young girls I say girls they were around 16 with their babies in push-chairs the lady at the side spoke to them she said to me children belong to them there not married. (As if I cared.)
One girl said blow I have left my mobile indoor I can't go out without it incase I get a call. the other one said I have mine so I am alright while the girls divered whether to go back and get her phone or carry on into Town. she carried on into Town (why do they have to have that mobile with them all the time. ?)
I got off the bus as I turned the corner I saw about hundred or more people all standing at the entrance to the Mall where I had to go. told all the shops were shut fire drill we waited and waited after 1/2 hour or maybe a little longer we were let in. (The store keepers had gone in a little while before to open their shops.)
I got to the shop for my hair do to find it had 6 people infront of me but I waited got it done well pleased and came out brought myself two pairs of cotton trousers for my holiday in July.
Missed the first bus by a minute. waited for the other one got on. two men got on and I heard one say the trouble is the old people live longer these days I felt like saying why should we not ?
This is not the first time I have heard this said and it makes me so cross. We had a lady driver of the bus and she honked her horn as two young men strolled a cross the road as if they had all the time in the world they gave her such a look, she said to me they do that all the time we only have so long before the traffic lights change and people are waiting for the bus to take them home.
I had a good laugh when I got home.

On that note Rita.....I think you should have a Mobile Hairdresser !! LOL

No buses no-one to talk about old folk and you would be in the warmth of your own home ..clothes can be bought on internet......SORTED !!.. RITA....

Now I have had chips ,sausages, mushrooms, egg mushy peas ...LOVELY.
We so enjoyed it....but had toooooo much ....

Got my glasses....another ROW with hubby, well just a small one.
We parted in town as I went to collect my glasses and arranged to meet at 2-30pm, but I was out by 2-15pm and where was he ? Dont know ....

He got carried away window shopping and turned up at 3pm. so you can see I had every right to be FUMING !!!!!!!

All that wasted time that I could have been spending on clothes ..LOL

So ended up telling him to do some MORE window shopping as I want to go to look at the shops !!.
Got back at 4-30pm as arranged. worn out ..!!

I thought I told myself NOT to go shopping anymore with him....Why did I do It ?????

Pauline $(*-*)$

Pauline $(*-*)$ Report 21 Apr 2010 18:40

LOL Marilyn, you really should know better than to go shopping with a man. How come you didn't take mobiles with you? You could have rang him at 2.15 to tell him you were out of the opticians.

See Rita, that's why people always need to take their mobiles with them, it's so they always know where the other one is. When I go shopping with my friend we always wander off in different directions and have to phone each other to meet up again.

Rita I think with the luck you're having lately you should stay in. Never mind, at least you're happy with your hair, you need somewhere to go now to show it off.

Rita Report 21 Apr 2010 19:03

Marilyn
did you spend too much on your glasses then or was it drinking glasses you bought I Love Egg sausages and chips and fish and chips two of my favourite meals.
I sorry but that wasnt nice of you to have ago at OH after all he may have got caught up somewhere so if he was only a few minutes late you should have made allowances for him poor soul.
but I want to know did you go and buy more clothes ?

I carry a Mobile with me Pauline but it isnt stuck up to me ear every minute
they have them in shops walking along the street in cafes trains buses they drive me mad half the time it is only chin wagging as my gran would say It is as though they cannot moved without them. we used Telephone boxes in our day I suppose we could have put it on our backs and walked along or use one of the police boxes like Dr Who has ? but to say I have to go back and get it was the end for me.

Looking at a programe last night on TV before i had my nose bleed they were saying people who use there IPods and Music boxes whatever they are called and have telephone up to their ear will suffer and many are now of tinitus and they are young people mostly.and that is a nightmare i know I have had it 20 odd years mine was through an ear infection but they are bringing it on themselves.

Pauline I could have a mobile hair dresser now if I wanted but I would rather go out and get my hair done when I mcved here 7 1/2 years ago the lady upstairs sent hers down to me she said I dont do perms I dont do certain cuts I didnt ask for a perm or this certain cut she did it that time but I didnt ask her to come back. I know I am an old misery guts.
I could even shop on line but I like to go and get bargains I feel happier then Lol
