Morning All
Well another new week starts.
Late in on Saturday. Only a couple of small drinks saturday eve, punch and a glass of bubbly. Nibbles to eat too.
Yesterday the dress looked lovely and hopefully her bridesmaids know how to lace her up !!! If not I was watching too. All back here at the house now. 27 days to go !!!
Meal out tonight for eldests birthday. Rather overshadowed by the wedding this year.
Tomorrow is Drs.
Friday a family meal for the older members who couldn't get to Butlins !!!
Next Monday my breathing checks at the hospital.

So like Rita all appointments coming up.

Linda :o) XxX
Thanks for the tea Marilyn. You snuck in while I was typing

Morning Liz, Marilyn and Linda

Linda hope things go OK for you at the Doctors you sound as if you had a good night out Saturday. wish your eldest a happy birthday .you didnt say whether it was male of female.?

Liz I know that song well it was sung to me as well by my Gran I think it came from a film of Paul Robson not sure which one he did quiet a few but had trouble in America as I recall.? could be wrong but I think it was him I saw him once in a film about a coal mine where they were trapped below.

Marilyn you treat your children too well they dont want to leave you but I always felt like a wet lettuce when they went home from my house I use to say to John (my husband) leave the washing up I will make a cup of tea and we can sit quiet for a while.

When I lived in Ealing the children use to come for Saturday lunch egg and chips or pie and chips it always had to have chips in the menue.
there was my daughter her husband and there three children My eldest son and his wife and there four children and my youngest son with his partner and their children (one was hers from her first marriage the other was his ) I put up a BIG NOTICE "RITA'S CAFE "we didnt have dishwashers then so you can see the amount of washing up I had. when I moved to Norfolk that was the first thing I missed Saturday Lunch with the family.

I better get a move on as my sister is coming to day so want to sort lunch out.

see you later
welcome all you late comers
Rita

Hi everybody.

I've never heard that song either Liz - and like Marilyn, I had a mop of curly hair, still have if I don't straighten it. My dad sang to me every day but he didn't sing that one.

Rita, you must have spent a lot of time making chips for your grandchildren, must have been nice to put your feet up after they'd all gone.

Linda, you've got quite a hectic social life, you'll have to tell the doctor to hurry up and get something sorted, because you haven't really got the time to have an illness.

Marilyn, you're making Shelly work too hard, she hasn't got time to come on here now. Let her have a little holiday. Come on Shelly, get down from that tree.

Why have you got to go through the whole thing again in November Lady?
Did he turn up? I don't understand why it wasn't sorted, I thought he was going to plead guilty (I don't really know anything about how the legal system works). It must have been hard for you and your mam.

Are you still in bed Mo?

The scumbag is going down the very dodgy medical route & our barrister doesn't want to relay on reports given by deffence barrister & wants our own reports.
The scumbag changed from his original barister only 2/3 weeks ago!! There is too much for me to go into on an open forum.
It was not at all easy for either of us to experience!!!

Mo in Kent Report 10 May 2010 14:55

Pauline I was up at seven this morning. Our neighbours are teachers and leave the house at that time, banging every door in the house on their way out off the front door.
Like Marilyn we have got bright sunshine here, but it is very very cold outside.
Good grief Marilyn you are a cheerful charlie, four months off summer left.
We are going to have an Indian summer, way into October. So no need to chase the sun, just stay here with us lot.
Good luck at the doctors tommorrow Linda.
Did both you and your OH cry when you saw your daughter in her wedding dress. We both had a good weep when we saw ours, but it is better for the father to see, before the big day,so that he gets over the shock off his little girl who is now a woman, dressed in all her finery.
Roly cried for ages afterwards, and said that even though he knew she was now an adult,it suddenly bought it home to him, that he was losing her to another man. But not in reality, just how he felt at the time.
Those were the days Rita, when I think we all had signs outside off the house, saying "CAFE OPEN " all welcome. My lot used to bring all their friends home for a meal,or a cuppa.
It all changes when they have families off their own,and roles are reversed. When the grandchildren, have friends come for a sleep over. I think I preferred it my way with just a quick meal.
Pauline I think we need to go and rescue Shelly from Marilyns tree. Get the axe out ready,Rita you can help me with the ladder, Linda can stand by with the phone,in case we have to call the emergency services. Lady and Yvonne can do the first aid if we need anything doing, like splinter removal.

Oh my god look girls,Shelly has arrived.
Hello flower, hows you doing. What happened to the sunflower seeds you were going to send us,from last years crop. I bet you have forgotten lol.
If the kids knocked the wall down, get them to put it back up for you. Ha thats a joke. Ollie will love playing out in the garden. Watch out for your flowers though,he is likely to pick them for you.

I put the song on cos Rita mentioned her Gran singing something like it to her, my Dad was from Buckinghamshire.

It was sung by Paul Robeson, from the film Big Fella (1937)
I never had curly hair either, straight as a die, mine lol, but Dad only sang the chorus part, not the verses.

Don't think he was a film goer but maybe he was in 1937!

Morning Rita and all
I hope the scan results are good this afternoon Rita, is anyone going with you?
Off to see the diabetic nurse this morning. She won't be happy as I have gained weight.................. not lost it at all. So more blood tests for me.
Nice meal at Nandos(Portuguese style chicken) last night for my eldest daughters birthday.
Ooops out for a friends birthday tonight.
Then Friday night for a family meal for those who couldn't be at Butlins.
I do try hard though and usually choose fish or chicken and salad, not chips and no desert. Hardly worth it sometimes.
Feel like I'm fighting a loosing battle.
At least the sun is shining though it is probably cold !!!

Managed some more pots and hanging baskets yesterday. More to do still. Waitng for the bluebells and forgetmenots to finish. Then it will be planting up the annuals

Have a good day all

Linda :o) XxX

GRMarilyn Report 11 May 2010 08:51

Morning all..

Linda you naughty girl....tut tut ...gained weight.! you are not SUPPOSED to gain weight as a diabetic !!

Have you got your machine to take your blood count ?
I had to ask for mine last month, I still have not got the hang of it, the last time I really hurt my finger......

Now be a good girl and no cakes chocolates or biccies . Gosh with the amount of running around you do I would have thought you should have lost weight, so be careful as you cant change your outfit for the wedding .. or you might have too .

Dont forget we want some lovely photo's of that day.....I do so love weddings ..LOL
Now that's Linda sorted .!!!!!!!

Who else ?

I am going to feed 6 people tonight, got roast Chicken I'm making a rhubarb crumble and bought a lemon pie.

The sun has gone, and I might have to light my log fire as one of my 6 is me Dad of 95yrs and he feels the cold his wife is 96yrs, although she fly's around the town, you would never believe her age.
But she is a bit miserable, don't know why perhaps wish she hadn't married again ..LOL

(_)? (_)? (_)? (_)? (_)? having my breakfast too Rita !
