Oh no my tea was cold,so I will make a fresh one for us all.

Cakes Biscuits.

I remember Doris Stokes Rita. She seems to have been the only one, that I would have any faith in.
I have been to meetings, where Derek Achora, Colin Fry, and Tony Stockwell have been holding court.
I was not impressed at all by them. They asked leading questions, and some people were so stupid they could not see what they were doing.
But Roly went to an aunt off my son in law,who does faith healing, after his brain bleed. Because he was getting such awful head aches, and after about three sessions, and prayers, his head aches lessened. But wether
that was because he had improved,or if it was because off the faith healer
I really don't know.

Mo
I went to Nancy Garland Doris Stokes was her friend.she was a widow lost her husband who was a pilot
she desc ribed my father in Law and the children she told me about my husband and how he died she also said things like he spent alot of time in the greenhouse (which he did he loved my Cacti ) she said he had been in the forces. I have no idea how because we lived in Norfolk and she lived in Hillingdon. as I said she told me not to speak and my daughter in law was given a paper and pen and wrote things down she was saying.I still have that paper somewhere in the flat.

My husband believed in Mind over Matter and he would have said that was worth thinking about in time of need.

Me Me Me,Rita, I like shepherds pie. What veg have we got with it. No greens, I know that you can only have a little them.
I am doing spaghetti bolognaise, but I can eat that tommorrow. Roly can have his share today.
Now don't forget the number for your key safe.

Rita, I hope you've given your code to one of your friends, just in case you forget the numbers. One of my aunts had a one of those key safes, but I think they gave her a faulty one because I could never get the flaming thing open to get the key out.

Mo, I like spag bol, so if you're having Rita's shepherd's pie, I'll have your spag bol. I've got chicken again for our dinner, I'm sick of chicken but hubby likes it.

I saw Doris Stokes on the telly a few time and I thought she was a load of crap. She had a massive audience and she would say 'Does anyone know a John who's passed over'. I mean, who doesn't know a John who's passed over?

Hi Everyone,

Had a lovely time today, been on a farm where my nephew lives and had a delicious chicken curry in the local pub.

There were artist there painting different parts of the pub and scenery.

Walkers stopping by for lunch, everyone happy as the Sun did stay all afternoon.

Back to the farm and was given some fresh eggs that the chickens had just laid this morning.
Horses galloping away on the farm , you just cant beat that .!!.

So now home.

I don't believe in those Mediums that can hear the dead , but I do believe that they can heal you.
What I always wonder about is.....supposing a person was married twice and both have passed on, what partner do they hear trying to talk to them the 1st or the 2nd ???? as they could have both been loved dearly ......makes you think doesn't it .

It's funny you should mention about second husbands Marilyn. When we lost my dad, back in 1977,my mum had a gentleman friend (her desciption
not mine ), who she went on holiday with, shared the room with, and also had him with her 24-7. Now when she passed away, she had lost my dad,and her friend. Roly and I discussed this to some length, wondering if,when she got to the other side, did she go to my dad,or did she go to her friend.
The friend had lost his wife,a few years before mum and he became friends.
I would like to think she chose my dad,but she seemed much happier with her friend.

Spag bol coming down the cyber hatch Pauline. Make sure you catch it,coz it could be rather messy by the time it gets there.

Linda don't overdo the spring cleaning, you need to be the blushing mother off the bride, not the weary lady sat at the front off the church.

Our bedroom curtains ironed and re-hung. At least we'll have some privacy !!!

Hubby on early shift for the next 7 days. So must get some paperwork sorted.

Little M is away next week to Cornwall with her parents and grandparents so I will only have the 2 year old. Have to keep her amused though as she is the anxious one. But less than 6 hours a day, so a bit easier.

Sleep well everyone

Morning all
Brght and sunny here this morning. makes a change.

My Granddaughter is in Thailand and was on her way to Bangkok she said she is staying where she is because of the problems out there. I dont say I blame her.

I watched a new programe on ITV1 last night called "All at Sea " did anyone see it.they took you to different places. and one was Polperro it was so strange to see it now as I remember it in the 1970.s which was the last time I went there, my aunty (my fathers only sister )lived there all through the war as my uncle was in the Royal Navy and use to dock in one of the big docks nearby so she went and stayed with another Aunty and Uncle who were born there,

Morning all,

OH MY GOD LINDA.......the BARBER Family ??????????
Beware of them......PMSL.....Thats Shelly's lot !!!
They have driven her crazy, and we don't want another casualty in YOU !
Linda does Shelly now about your BARBERS ?

Rita, Looe & Polperro is where I was born & bred, yes I did see it and its only 30mins drive from me now. So I see it often I have a friend in Looe that I am going to see next week when I go for my week in Cornwall, and have a cousin in the hobby horse village of Padstow that I shall be calling in on.
Just hope this dam weather will get better by then.

Its wet & cold here at the moment, going out again today to my friends house for lunch as Pete is going to try and clean up her Lappy that the grandchildren have cocked up !! LOL

So off now for my bath.....

LindainBerkshire1736004 Report 14 May 2010 11:17

Morning Marilyn
Yes Shelly does know that I have Barbers in my tree, but we haven't found a connection yet !!!
I now have access to his tree on Ancestry and he has info I didn't have. You know keeping family stories to yourself and not meeting some cousins. But I may have surprised him as I told him my grandmother was married 4 times.................. he only had the first. Only 3 children from her first marriage though, plenty of step-children but I haven't looked for them at all.
Enjoy your lunch out

Nice day here. Curtains blowing on the line in the sun.

Have to iron and hang them again before I go out for the hen family meal, never ending

Hi Linda I too have Barber in my family tree no blood related a Sarah Barber marriages a George Butler they are the parents of my Uncle Charlie who married my fathers sister Ida Lee.
I mentioned Polperro earlier on and my Aunty stayed there during the war as her husband was in the navy and he docked nearer to Polperro than he is one of the sons of Sarah Barber and George Butler. isnt that strange how you have a Barber and Marilyn born in Looe in Cornwall.
I use to go a lot to Polperro Uncle and Aunty had the house at the top of the Hill and when they sold it Rita Tusingham brought it (the actress.)

Looks like I am on my own again.

I was clearing a in box out and found a birthday card my husband sent to me in the early 1950's and it is full of verse called what is a wife.

one said
A girl becomes a wife with her eyes wide open
She know those sweetest words "I take the to my wedding husband
"really means "I promise thee to cook three meals a day
for sixty years :thee will l clean up after. Thee will l talk to even when thou
art not listening l worry about , cry over, and take all manner of hurts from.

A Wife is a girl whose doll is wrapped in tissue
and packed away in the wardrobe a girl with a packet of letters at the bottom of her glove box.
and a snapshot album that is never opened- each is a fragile with her girlhood.
each so treasure and so forgtten.

Now she lives in a hurried world, Get that man up
turn on the that stove, fry that egg, haul the wash, lift that furniture, paint that floor till the old back has 17 kinks and then he comes home and asks

What did you do today, dear. ?

It is full of verse like this the bit at the back he says

Happy Birithday to the Girl
Who;s all a wife should be
The girl who has become my world
The only girl for me.

I had a little cry after reading that.

Awwwhhhhh Rita,

I would put that card in a box and lock it with the key......to keep forever .

I have in the loft somewhere !! my letters to my Pete while he was in the navy and his to me.......not sure why I have kept them, but I'm sure I would cringe at them now , as we must have been soppy and daft at letter writing .

One day I am going to find them and have a good read, then burn all of the letters. Cant let the boys see them ...LOL

Rita Report 14 May 2010 18:54

Marilyn I too have letters written to me by m husand when he was in the Royal Fuislers I dont know what happened to the ones I sent to him. I have a pile of cards Birthday and Annversary ones he sent to me some in great big boxes but I didnt know about this one it is in a book form.
This one I thought of you LOL

A wife likes new dresses and hats going places , teas and shows, dinners and furniture . soaps .babies, parties ,novels chatting , baths and other peoples birthdays a husband who comes home on time with surprise gifts.

Many hopes and dreams will be packed away
tenderly with the doll the packets of letters
and the snapshot album. The future will devour the presents at an alarming rate she will find these more of courage , little things will become important the little things that only a husband can give
just the touch of a hand a loving word or a kiss yet these will tell her that she is still his most wonderful girl in the world. beyond that nothing really matters.
