Hi everybody, thank you for your concern and caring thoughts.

Rita, I hope it all goes well for your son-in-law, it's a big operation, 8 hours is a long time. Let's hope they can continue with the positive thinking.

That is bad news about your friend Mo, depression is much worse than it sounds. I hope she responds to the medication they give her.

I was thinking about getting one of those steam cleaners Shelly but I think I'll just borrow yours. You've done your whole house now so you won't need it for a while.

Marilyn, I would hide that silver if I was you, if you get Fergie there - she might just nick it. I've heard she's a bit short of money.

I think I'll send my ironing down to Linda, she's finished all of hers, so she might as well do mine now.

I hope you manage to clean the drive Mo, it would be a shame to spoil it.

I've finally got a new camera, I've been out in the back garden testing it out. I'm going to send you the photos of my flowers because they're all lovely and colourful.

The photos came out a bit big so I've reduced them by 50%, hope it doesn't spoil them.

I can't wait to see the flowers Pauline. I sometimes wish our garden was bigger than it is. But there are good and bad points to a large garden, arn't there.
I bought some more pinks last week, and planted them in one off my biggest pots. But the blessed things died on me. So today when I was at B+Q's I bought some more. Keep your fingers crossed for me,that they survive this time.
I really like the smell off pinks, and sweet peas, mmmmm heavenly aromas.

Pauline $(*-*)$ Report 26 May 2010 19:29

I don't have much luck with pinks Mo. I like flowers that grow easily and seed themselves, I let them seed all over.

We have a lot of problems with snails, we've got hundreds of them, don't know where they all came from.

I've got some emails to look at and sort out, I'll send them on after I've had a look at them.

Morning Rita,

My Rhododendron is now falling petals !
And what a show I had.......beautiful.

This afternoon I have to take my stepmun to the Eye infirmary, she panicked yesterday as she said her eye sight was worse than ever ,she has that terrible disease ....(cant think of the name ) too early ..!!

So I had to ring the hospital (which took me all morning to get through) and make an appointment to get her seen to. I'll complain about that when I get there ..LOL..... I'm sure they don't answer on purpose . What I'm saying is this is a 96yr woman and she because of her eye sight would have given up on the second try but I kept ringing for 4hrs,but eventually got through.

Now off my little soap box........down to reality.

The weather is quite good the sun is shinning so far. we never had rain last night Rita.

I hope everyone else has a good day.........it was quiet on board yesterday.

Off for my bath.....

Morning Ladies
Well another day another dollar!!!
Little K will not be coming any more ??? Her mummy was getting too upset at leaving her? So she will be with grandparents 2 days a week and a neighbour who childminds 5 other children 1 day a week. Don't ask. She rang this morning and said she will not be bringing her today. Holiday next week and then I am off for 2 weeks for the wedding and time with my cousin from Canada.
I am upset but at the Mum for putting K through changes that weren't necessary. She could have gone to the neighbour 2 months ago before she even came to me. K starts nursery after Christmas, and that was her choice of carer from then as she will only have her for 2 hours a day then.

Little M will be here soon so I'd best sign off.

Oh Pauline your garden is beautiful. I would love to see it. Mine is only 40ft x 40ft. But keeps me busy.

Have a great day everyone

Yes it's rained here since about 11 last night so the garden looks fresher already

Linda :o) XxX

Morning all.

That's a strange thing that K's mam's done Linda. What was the point of bringing her to you in the first place, if her grandparents and a neighbour could look after her? I don't suppose K will make any less fuss when she's left with a neighbour. Her mother will still get upset when she has to leave her.

My garden is never weed free, it would take too much time. The only weeds my hubby can recognize are dandelions, so the rest are left up to me to pull out. We must be weeks behind you lot because my rhododendrons are just coming into bud now.

Got to go and put the next lot of washing in now.

Wow Marilyn, you've lost loads of weight, well done.

And I love your barn, it's fabulous.

Is that view from the front of your house or the back?

You do realize Shelly will be on the next train down there?

Edit: We look after the garden ourselves, I do the borders and hubby does the lawns and the wooded area.

Rita Report 27 May 2010 12:16

Marilyn good for you pushing that hospital it is the only way you can get anywhere these days unless you are on their books like l am.I hope they can do something for her. I was thinking of you this morning did you see Dom Littlewood having ago about the cruise that poor old lady paid £1400 for and could not leave the boat due to her beinging in a wheelchair she had 34 steps to get up and down so her cruise she had to spend on board. and she had been told they cattered for people like her she was in tears but he managed to get her her money back after a lot of trouble he had. .

Linda it sounds to me as if K mother is one of those who ppampers her child I have someone in my family that does that and as the child grows it gets worse she is 12 years old now and her mother watches her all the time she is not allowed out with her friend, she has to ask all the time if she can do things. and she has such baby ways .

l Love Wall flowers they always give a good show and the scent from there blooms are lovely l didnt have any in this year as my ohers were getting old i pulled them up and when I went to buy some new plants the frost had gotten to them so l didnt buy any.

Hi Pauline,

The one with me sitting with Gin & tonic...LIKE YOU DO ..LOL is the back ,the other is the front.

The field is at the side and back.......there is more to the barn ,but I did not want to over do it ..!! LOL

Rita no I did not see that program.....poor lady sounds as if she should have her money back.

Oh Linda your best off not having those sort of Children, my god she sounded like too much hard work.....and YOU don't need that.
So her mother has done you a favour......good for you.

Off now to take Step Mother to Hospital.

Mo in Kent

Mo in Kent Report 27 May 2010 19:19

Hi girls,I will try again to post. I tried earlier and it flippin vanished again.

Marilyn, thanks for the pics. You can see the little greenhouse you bought,in one off the pics. I can see it's come in very useful for you. The garden looks lovely. I am very envious off you and Pauline.
How did you get on at the hospital with step mum. I hope it went well.
Well done on the weight loss. You can really see the difference.

Pauline we have lots off snails as well. Don't you just hate it,when you go to hang the washing out,and all of a sudden you can feel this scruunncchh
and youv'e trodden on one them. yuk.
I am normally very lucky with pinks,it might be because I usually put them in compost in my pots.
Like your OH,Roly can only recognise dandylions ,buttercups and daisies.
He only knows what a rose is as well, because he gets pricked by their thorns.

So you have a vacancy for another little one then Linda. Will you wait till after your holiday to advertise.
I could not understand why little K's mum, would have put her through the heartache that she did. By her staying and waiting for her to quieten down, did the poor little mite no favours. If she had dropped her off,and left straight away, she would have settled sooner.
I don't think anything will change,if she is left with the neighbour. She is still going to play up,because mum has allowed it to happen for to long.
God knows what will happen when she starts nursery.
When my eldest started school,I had to take her into the classroom, and stand outside holding the door shut,so that she could not follow me.
She would scream and shout, but no way was I going to weaken. Many a time I went home in tears, but she soon got over being left.
Wicked mum arn't I.

Rita have you heard how your son in law is today.
Like at your end it poured hard here last night. No need for me to go and water my pots, thank goodness.
I watched Dom this morning as well. It's scandalous that Olsen lines did not cater for people in wheel chairs. That poor woman was heart broken wasn't she. We have watched him every morning morning this week.
Did you follow the hospital series that was on before this week. It was very interesting, and prior to that they had the animal 24/7.

Well,
Step Mother was OK...... eyes not as bad as she thought had loads of tests,

So now we know where we stand ..LOL

Hi Mo....you were typing while I was ...

If ever she tells me that she cant see, I'll throttle her. she can always see her MONEY ....LOL
And all the receipts when she goes shopping, and if anyone short changes her ..LOOK OUT !!

I think she wanted a day out in my car, but you cannot waste Doctors time can you ? or a day away from my Dad ..LOL

I'm knackerd now as I had to do all my shopping late at 5pm and the shops were full of school darlings !!

But here I am ,think I'll have a soak in the bath again....to relax.

Morning all it is a nice day I have put some washing out mon the line. l hope the sun stays so it drys only a couple of skirts and two tops. I just felt very enagetic this morning for some reason when I woke.

Marilyn O dear what can I say is your step mother like that ? one of these that need a lot fo attention ? my first mother in Law was like that I say first she was my husband mother she had 8 children in all.
My Step mother in Law was so different all together Kind helpful always offering to give you a hand.
The only thing with her was we went shopping she would stand and stare at the scales to make sure I got the exact amount of whatever I was buying. I didn have much money so we were careful the most embarassing thing she ever did was when I was in the shop and buying 1 lb of sausages it came to just over the lb he said it is just over. she said well cut the sausage in half I was speechless as the young guy did just that.( this is true. ) when we got out-side I told her off and said she was not coming shopping with me unless she let me handle my own shopping.
I have to say it she was a true Scot her words not mine she never interferred again like that my husband thought it was funny.
But I did love her she really was a lovely person.

.Well all you other ladies if your away for the bank holiday or staying at home have a lovely weekend incase I dont get back to saying it.

Morning All.

Rita its you and I .......this morning.
Wonder where everyone is ?

Yes I have one of those moaning step mothers and its getting to me now, she has no money worries......got all her health, bar her sight that she thinks has got worse, but reading all the eye test etc etc its the same as last year !!

Now she has a gardener, hair dresser, and a chiropodist and some meals delivered from a company, all calling on her. every week......and US her stepchildren to take them wherever and whatever appointment that is needed........and she still moans..Ughhhhhh fed up now as you don't get too much gratitude back.

Anyway I could go on ,but I wont .

I have my washing on Rita as well, then after I got some dark colours to do.
Its lovely and sunny again, the forecast said rain but I haven't seen any yet !!

Got some American friends coming on Sunday for tea, yesterday I bought some Gammon and I'm going to do that in honey & redcurrant syrup .
with new potatoes & bacon bits mixed on a bed of Rocket !

Starters Homus & crusty bread and Garlic King prawns.
Pudding Lemon Cheesecake & Bread & Butter pudding with Devon Clotted Cream.
So I'm afraid there is no room for anyone else ......Sorry LOL

Hi Marilyn
That dinner sound really lovely I am sure they will enjoy that I know I would. l hope the weather stay fine for them.
my nephew comes over from Washington next week he and his mother are flying to Italy to his brother(my sister son's ) grave it will be 30 years next week when Peter died it is such a sad occasion for them and for us.
The children were all born in New York my sister lived out there for about 11 years she had lived in New jersey before that and in Italy for two years so she got a about.
I told you I had found 16 reels of movie film in and old box belonging to my husband they were taken in 1970 - 1976 I got them put onto a DVD I had no idea what was on them. but there are a lot of my children when we were on holiday and staying at Mum and Dads (in law ) in Cornwall amoung the last ones I had done. Is some of Peter who died his father and brother and sister and my sister. it brought a lump to my throat.

It appears you dont get on too well with MIL I dont think I would either if she was mine, I do hate it when people have so much yet moan all the time and expect others to run about after them just for the sake of it. she is lucky to have someone to do so much for her.

Sorry I'm late today
Blaming it on a late night not home til midnight as we went to a concert of a copy group? They were playing the music of Pink Floyd. They were very good. But it was at Chesham and nearly an hours drive home.
Hubby at work now.
Spent most of the morning clearing the garden. Tortoise problem solved temporarily............... friends came for coffee this morning and have 2 rabbitts in a secure garden and they have a run too. He has gone home with them to see how they get on. If all is OK they he will come back after the wedding and our break in Yorkshire.
So I have been planting seedlings all afternoon and now have the sprinkler on to water them in. Supposed to rain tomorrow too. Will try to get some more in after I have rested my back.
Hope Step mum is OK now Marilyn.......................... your dinner sounds lovely. Thanks for the photos. I love your home.
Will try to do some of my garden soon and forward them to you all. Of course you will all get to see the bride too. It's only a week away now. Where did 2 years go?
Rita you are so busy I hope you take some rest too.
Pauline still keep thinking of June and hope she has some effective relief now.
Where is Mo? haven't seen her for a while.
Shelly will either be quieter next week or manic as it is the school hols.
