Hi again.
Just popped on quickly. Elizabeth if you are looking in,what do you think off the competition this year.
I was so surprised how many off the countries, actually sang in English.
At the moment I like Ireland, and Denmarks songs.
Mind you do you think that Denmarks rendition, have an Abba sound to them.
Off to wait for the results, and wait for poor Josh to get nil points.

Hello Elizabeth nice to see you appear on this thread.you will get a lot of laugh from it at times they are all sitting on feather dusters.

I dont expect us to win tonight we could have the greatest song in the whole world and the best singer but it is political and thats what wins.
they all vote fo each other.

I am going to have a cup of horlicks now and then go to bed .and read.

Love to all

Rita

Right I am off to my bed, well dissapointed. Germany won,a catchy song but nothing special.
Poor Josh got 10 points, but was last in the competition.
Don't know why we bother to enter,it's so dregrading for anyone we enter.
Did we have a choice years ago,as to what song was entered. ie Sandie Shaw,Cliff Richards, Bucks Fizz etc.
I don't remember us voting for what song we wanted. But since we have done this we have got absolutely no where.
Nite nite all.sleep tight. luv mo xxx

Dear Ladies

Hello

Thank you for the warm welcome.

Yep, we sat throught Eurovision in our house with provisions!

I preferred it when the contestants sang in the languages of the countries they represented.

I can't believe our song came last.

On my list, I picked out the entries from Belgium, Ireland and Norway. No one here picked Germany as the winner.

I remember in 1992, Linda Martin from Ireland sang "Why me" and just beat Michael Ball, by one point and the following year, Niamh Kavangh scored a second win for Ireland with "In your eyes".

These were very classy songs. Since then its been downhill all the way.

Take gentle care all
Very best wishes
xx

Morning all

Of course you didnt expect to win or come wihin the top ten . it is so political I have said for years we should not bother to enter. We have to be honest the Europe countrires do not ike us .
They like us , for buying their goods and solving their money problems for all the hand outs they get but sadly not for us as people, It shows in contests like this. not just this year but many years. sad isnt it. we came where did and some of those who beat us had appauling songs.
I am not saying we should have come top but we should not have come at the bottom. I feel sorry for Josh at the moment how must he feel.

Morning All,

Rita I agree with you about the Eurovision song contest, it is political that's for sure. They all vote for their neighbours .
But I never saw all of it ,only from when BGT finished, saw never heard UK song.
But I sure did not like the German song it was just a rap song.

I am still feeling a little ruff , but got to slog on ,hoping the day will make me feel better a little later on.....
Taking plenty of meds . but had a better sleep last night, slept in the other room as I kept coughing and Pete said he had a lovely sleep without ME !!!
Do you think he's trying to tell me something ..LOL

Hi to Yvonne ,thanks for the tip ! but I have a throat spray from USA and its brilliant ......it just gives an anesthetic relief to sore throats.

Going for my bath ............

Morning all (all the names that Rita has already said)

I'll make the tea Rita, if they don't turn up, we'll make them drink it cold so it won't be wasted.

I didn't watch the song contest, not worth it really, it only makes us realize how hated we are by the rest of countries.

Mo, I think we did used to have a vote on what song was chosen, well, I think we did.

Yvonne, that sounds as if it was really bad. Has there been a lot of damage to your bedrooms? Can you claim on the insurance?

How are you today Marilyn, is the throat any better?

Hello Elizabeth, welcome to the thread.

Shelly have you finished all the photos you need for the wedding album?

Where's Linda today? Liz hasn't been on for a while either, and I don't know if Sue is with us or not.

Don't know if Lady is with us but I've done a coke, just in case.

(_)? (_)? (_)? (_)? (_)? (_)? (_)? (_)? [_] {_}?

And a TCP gargle for Marilyn \_/

Morning Pauline
l know our song was not that good but noway was it the worse one in that contest.
I think Linda was going a way for the bank holiday wasnt she ? l will take alook at the back threads and see.later on.
I hate cold tea the only time l have used tea cold was during the war when we dabbed it onto our legs to make it look like we were wearing stockings you got your friend to draw a line down the back of your leg to made it look like a seam.mind you it wasnt much good when it rained.

Marilyn
you got that cold chasing that guy about in the car park that was why Pete didnt want you sleeping in the bed with him he he. l didnt tell him what you had done honest. what is wrong with the English throat sprays ?
since I got up at 6.30 this morning. I had my shower first then breakfast I have since got my dinner sorted for today and for tomorrow. also changed the bed linen.
I have cleaned the bathroom out so I have been very active.
I shall need a sleep this afternoon.

Helloooo everyone.
Linda, I am exhausted listening to all you have done today. Well done my friend,it will soon be over.
I bet all the excitement is now building. Is your daughter nervous, come to that how is your OH coping.
Weddings can be such emotional times.

Looky loooky, our Shelly was back a little while back. Hi me ol cock sparrer, hows you today.

Well we have had a very windy day today. The sun has been out,but has no warmth to it,because off the gusts.
We had a visit from the two youngest grandchildren today. Their dad had taken them to a boot fair. They were so chuffed with themselves, they had bought themselves some In Line Skates, and couldn't wait to try them out.
But they had to wait,as dad and his Fiance were taking then out for dinner.
They had also bought grandad two Buddha's,as Roly collects them. Ahh
bless them, them they spent all their pocket money on them.

Oh Shelly
You've spoilt them haven't you !!!
But you did something good if he will change the babies nappy............. maybe he can't stand the smell !!!!

My kids all had their job or no pocket money. Not always done willingly and I nearly always did the laundry. But they all pull their weight in their own homes now. I think my son does the most as he usually does the cooking. His wife was brought up in South Africa and they had servants............. you know. So she says she is hopeless, her words not mine.

Off to get the last of the laundry in now.

Be back later
