Shelly they put the things up on the higher shelves and l bet your little so you cannot see the good stuff.
I have been very lucky with my books l really love reading history books and and l have lots on London being brought up on the out skirts l suppose that is why.
When l go across to Waitrose to get shopping l always call in the charity shop just to see what books they have.
They all know me in there l take alot of books in there but not books on history.
are you sun bathing ?

Tee Hee Hee,Shelly's in the doghouse. I know you is a grandma Shelly, but you are our glamorous young nanna. Pokes tongue out at Marilyn, don't you go telling our Shelly off, she's our nightwatch person, and we need her to guard our thread, just in case we get an invasion off unwanteds.LOL

Marilyn,I have bought a new mug for Shelly, coz she's me mucker, and fellow trouble maker. (^^^^)?,a nice new big mug as she gets very thirsty on guard duty at night. (now no rude comments about the big mug please).
I thought you might have to go to the doctors, for some anti-biotics. Now no G+T's till you have finished them all up. Get well soon love,we cant have you feeling poorly in this lovely weather.

Ooooh Linda the big day is almost here. It's so exciting. But by this time on Sunday it will be all over, and you will be so relieved, that it all went so well.
When you look at the photo's afterwards,if you are anything like me,I was so unaware off half off the things that had happened.
So I will wish you all a very very happy day. May the sunshine on the bride and groom.

Elizabeth, dont let our Shelly lead you up the garden path. She is a proper teaser at times, but we love her anyway even though she is a little minx.
You will always find her around here late at night, when the rest off us have gone to our beds.

Rita it's not fair that I can't get patterns and needles in our charity shop. You lucky thing you.You seem to be in the right places at the right times don't you.
I hope your son in law enjoys his birthday. Have the family arranged anything special for him,or is he to exhausted bless him.

Rita Report 4 Jun 2010 19:12

Marilyn l have never heard that slang before my husband John was born in Caldonia road St pancras his family were cockneys when l use to visit his nanna she lived in islington at the time and l use to listen to them speaking cockney and never knew what they were saying or talking about so on the way home l use to ask him. l knew the ordinary things like apple and pears and North and South trouble and strife porky pies things like that he told me it had all started with the barrow boys in the east end they made the language up so it became, a sort of club they could talk to each other and people did not understand that was way back my husbands father his father and brothers and cousins were black cab taxi drivers use to park outside Kings cross station sometimes Selfridges, if l was shopping there he use to pick me up and take me back home free. Lol
a lot of the cockney slang books now have some that were not original but over the years have been used.
so they are now classed as cockney language
