Morning Sailors
Stephen I think we all need your boat in the south, esp today.
Thanks for the drinks
Guess I'll not be going to the show today, can't see me pushing a buggy round the field the showground will be on!!! And little M is too young to walk all day especially in wellies and waterproofs. Just not worth it. Still the weather is looking better for the bank holiday weekend. Shame hubby will be at work.

Have a good day all

Morning all if you can call it a good one ?
it is overcast and still raining. I have a lake in front of me which the sea scouts use and the canal at bacik but if this rains gones on much longer I will be on a lake.

in the 70's we had a cabin c ruiser which we birthed at Hallford Mariner on the Thames it was a 6 birth we shared it with my younger son all expense's were split between us.
She was called" Flake"and we had two licences for her one for the river and one for the sea.
you had to get a sea worthy certificate every year .and one for the River. we had lovely times on that went every year to Henley regatta.
we sold her when we moved to Norfolk as the cost of taking her out of the water and transporting her to Norfolk was too costly.
I wonder where she is now. ? the person who brought her lived up north and took her to the Canal near Birmmingham so if on your walks you come across a cabin cruiser called" FLAKE "let me know please.
It has brought back happy memories of that listening to you all about sailing..all her inside was wood it was really lovely.
I have nothing planned to day only go and get my books from the newsagents and collect my perscription from the chemist..
see you all later. time for a cuppa.

Morning Rita
Hope you are Ok today, try to avoid the all day showers.

So much rain has fallen over the last 3 days, I wouldn't be surprised if I saw Noah and his ark !!!!

I am not going to the show. It is too wet underfoot. Can't see me managing the buggy or an under 2yr old in wellies all day. So hubby has gone to his brothers and they will see how it is when they get there. He went with my blessing as I said it would be easier at home with Little M than in a house with no toys or even just out for a pub lunch, it is boring for little ones. And they might get around better without me anyway.

I have just removed a huge slug from my front porch............................. where do they come from when the rains come? Maybe they come down in the rain LOL

Well time going fast
She's had breakfast and lunch. Now in the cot for a sleep. Several nappies changed too.
We've read books done puzzles threaded beads making a necklace to take home made a key ring for her Daddy(drawing and sticking) and then stuck foam transport shapes onto card........... naming them and the colours too. Oh we do have fun learning here.
Hopefully she will sleep for an hour Thenshe will be happy going home to Daddy who has been away for nearly a month !!!

Oh I finally ran outside and grabbed the sodden washing and spun it dry it needs to go on the airer inside now, not risking the weather again

Oi Stephen, where were you, I got soaked waiting for you. I even asked the coast guard to put out an alert.
This is not on girls, he gets us up early, out in the rain, done up in our wellies and water proofs, then he does a runner. Tut Tut.
If Gillingham Marina is not on your route, can you tell me next time where I am supposed to be.

Ahhh Linda what a shame you were unable to get out. But it's better to be dry and warm than sodden to the skin. The little one would have only ended up being miserable and tired.
Besides, look how much fun you had at home.

Pauline, I did not want to wait till my grandaughter went home, to get out on Stephens Yacht, I needed the break. But it looks like I will end up with pneumonia at this rate.
Have you been able to get out today, or have you had the rain like the rest of us.

When do you go back home Marilyn. Is it this weekend or next.

Rita, did you manage to get to the chemists, between the rain showers.
Did you put your bikini on, to have a swim in the lake out the front of the building.

I hope Jean is doing o.k today.

I have been busy reading all your remarks on the thread some gave me a chuckles others I was lost for words. you must know why Stephen did not take his yacht ou there was no wind he need the wind to blow him along.
not crude remarks please.
Linda shame you miss out on today that is the trouble we always find the weather stops us from going somewhere when we have looked forward to it.
I was thinking of Liz and wondering if the weather would be Ok for her. I did not see the forcast for that part of the country this morning

I had no problem going out this morning . I got my perscription then went and got my Chat and Take a Break also posted my letter and card off to Arlington USA and four birtday cards. a few days early but better then being late.

we had no post this morning so it was a good job they phoned me from the hospital about my warfarin tablets..

Well I've been hanging around the marina most of the day (seriously I have) but didn't see a yacht named Tir-nan-Og. Looks like Stephen's mystery tour sailed straight past our marina.

You were supposed to pick us up Stephen!!! There's poor Mo got soaked to the skin for nothing.

Rita, up here it was a really good day for sailing, we had beautiful sunshine all day, with quite strong winds. Luckily the wind wasn't cold, so we spent the day between the marina and the beach. Didn't see any boats called Flake...........sorry, it's not up here.

We've been really lucky with the weather, the only bad day we had was last Friday.

Marilyn, if you don't mind slugs - I'll send mine down to you. I used to send them to Shelly but she doesn't seem to want them any more. I've got one of the snails ready for the snail race if you're having one this year Shelly.

Linda and little M could paint them all different colours so we'd know which was which.

How are you today Jean?

Hello Me Sailor Gals,

Linda, Rita, Marilyn, Shelley, Mo, Pauline, et.al.

Lifejackets on, Ok! Good. If you do fall overboard, don't worry....they inflate automatically as soon as you hit the water. And if the tide takes you away...don't worry...we will all wave bye bye to you.

Anchor aweigh. Sails up, gentle breeze, off we go. Due
South West from Oban Bay. The Island on your right is Kerrera, we slip serenly down the sound between that and the mainland.
Ahead is Seil Island, former home of Princess Dianas mum, Mrs Shand Kydd....a lovely woman...kind and gentle.
Down the west side of Seil...and look...the porpoise are jumping ahead of the boat. They always do that.
Passed the tiny Island of Easdale that once gave roof slates to all the world.
We are now passing Luing we will head slightly East now and pass just North of Scarba. Head South again...look...on your right is Corryvreckan, one of the largest whirlpools in the World.. Down the East side of Jura...George Orwell wrote his book, 1984, on this Island. It also is home to Jura Malt...a grand whisky. See how high the hills are on this wee island.
Ahead is Islay...home of even finer Malt Whisky. Round the bottom and start heading North for Mull. On your left is Colonsay, white shinining beaches and crystal clear water.
Passing down the Sound of Iona now. Burial ground of the Kings of Scotland and the birthplace of Christianity in Scotland thanks to St. Columba.Heading into the Bull Hole now, drop anchor. Time for a cuppa.

Welcome to my own Tir-nan-Og. My little piece of heaven on earth. My place of peace and solace.

I share this place with very few.
Beauty and perfection in all that surrounds me, what more do I need.

The wee boat over there with the blue and white flag flying means he has a Diver down and I should keep clear. NO MARILYN....you can't hoist your bra to let him know I have women on board.
Crew head below to the cabin. I remain on deck to check all is ok.
After about a half hour....sounds of giggles....What are they doing? An hour later they are still below...now singing!!!! HELP they have found my stash of Malt Whisky. They are all drunk as newts. Didn't know they knew any Sea Shanties! 'What shall we do with the drunken sailor' rings out across the bay.
I suppose it's not often they get the chance to let their hair down! That's enough sailing for today...hope they are ok for tomorrow and the next leg of the journey.

Shelly, I am always waiting for Im Indoors, so thought that Stephen would be early. You know what they say, the early bird catches the worm. Oooops sorry Stephen, I didn't mean you are a worm.
Well I don't know perhaps you are, ya stood us all up. tut tut.

Rita I am shocked, talking about Stephens wind like that.

Pauline that painted snail, it wasn't pink was it. If it was,I will scrape it of my shoe and send it back to you. Sorry but theres not much left of it. You may need to paint another one.

Just thought Shelly, if we are having a snail race, you will need to post the time and date.
Who is going to be running the book on the runners, and taking the bets.

Marilyn, are you getting excited at seing John Mc Cririck's pants again tonight.
Big pants fit big behinds. He's one ugly son of a gun isn't he.
Yesterday, when he was set the task by the tree, to be nice to people, made me want to chuck up.
I wish they would bring back Pete. If you remember he was the one that had the tourettes. He was such a likeable lad.

Oh my god,I thought I was dreaming this. It is really real after all. I bet that Marilyn spiked my drink, she's like that don't ya know.
Sorry Stephen. I wish Shelly would budge up a bit, she's taking up so much room on this bunk.
Oi Shelly, I feel sick.
Rita put that life jacket back on will you, if you falloverboard Stephen won't come back for you.
Linda, put that flippin knitting away, you might stab Jean with your needles.
Whey hey, this waters getting a bit choppy.
Stephen what are you doing up there, keep her steady will you.
Pauline can you go and have a word with him please, tell him we feel sick.

Pauline $(*-*)$

Pauline $(*-*)$ Report 26 Aug 2010 19:14

Ahoy skipper, can you steady it up a bit? We've got knitting needles flying around down here and Rita's tablets are all over the floor.

Mind you, the sway could have been caused by the fact that Marilyn took her bra off and started swinging it around.

Poor Mo has gone green now, oh no it's not seasickness, it's that green paint Shelly got to paint the snails.
