Morning Jean,

Thanks for breakfast.

Hope you are keeping fine in this weather just now.

Once daylight comes I'm going out to do a bit more snow clearing just to tidy things up a bit. I've managed to keep ahead of it this year by going out regularly and shifting it before it gets compacted by either walking or driving over it.

What a wonderful Christmas I'm gonna have..........opened up my computer and £10,000 fell out from the Cyber Hatch...... Magic !.

Temperature well up now 3C I must be in the Tropics. LOL

Catch you later

We don't have them in Scotland.

Wonder where I can exchange it ?

It's nearly 11.30am.......cleared up the snow outside just to make it 'tidy' looking. Can actually see black tarmac now.

Believe it or not the sun is shining and it's glorious here but the temperature has actually dropped since earlier this morning Now sitting at 0C. A Cold Front must be moving through.

Soon be time for a couple of Bacon Rolls and some more Coffee.

Are you all still asleep....or out on your sledges ?

Catch you later.

The sun is out here as well and the snow is melting in some places but the roads are icy.in the back streets.

I have not not been out. my friend up stairs got me some bread yesterday. and took me perscription to the chemist.

This morning another friend and neighbour took my parcels and Christmas cards to the post office for me so those things will be on their way. My card to my nephew to Arlington USA is also in its way I only have the local cards to hand out. 20 of those.
she was sending parcels and cards off to Cyprus where she had been living before she came here.so she got my milk and fruits for me. she told me it was very icy on the pavements she went in her car.

My daughter was upset as I told her I was staying home for Christmas
this year.( I didnt want to cause her more trouble with her husband ill with cancer and all her family arriving for dinner and tea, ) but was upset she didnt want me to spend Christmas on my own.she insists she call and collect me even if I only stay a few days. so if the weather is Ok I will be going up to London.for Christmas
My sister had asked me to go to her as her son flies over from Arlington and her daughter and family arrive for Chrstmas day but I didnt fancy going there for two or three weeks as that is what happend when I get there she keeps asking me to stay longer.

Hope everyone is OK with all this snow and ice about.

Rita

Afternoon all
Went for a slide this morning, sorry thought it would have been a walk !!! But went down some of our local lanes then the road. Paths too slippery and got newspaper, Christmas pudding(just in case) and scones for hubby. Slid home. Saw a friend unable to get her galaxy people carrier up a slight hill outside her house. Hubby wanted to push I said NO as I could see her roll back onto him or him going flat on his face, we are getting older now and more fragile, he'll be 63 just before Christmas. So have to look after ourselves.
Birds still very active on the feeders.
It has turned a bit slushy now, but overcast again no sun yet again. Guess it will freeze later. Hope he gets home safe from work tonight. I am such a worry guts.
Recieved two more christmas orders this morning Thank heaven for our lovely postman. He now has a trolley to push with his letters. But says it's one step forwards and two back, so not such a help.
Oh we got another 3 cards too. And I hid a Birthday Card for hubby that has come early.
Wrapped some of the gifts this morning. Just need to have decent weather to get them delivered or for the family to come here on Boxing Day. Here's hoping.

Enjoy the rest of the day

Mo in Kent

Mo in Kent Report 4 Dec 2010 14:35

Good afternoon everyone.
Well apparantly we had heavy rain last night, but I didn't hear it,and the snow is now melting, thsnk god for that.
We made our expedition out today, Roly cleared the road so that we could get the car onto it,with slipping all over the place.
The supermarket was absolutely heaving. Whats wrong with people, do they think we are going to be snowed in till next spring or something.
We had managed with the food we had in the house, since last weekend.
so I have now replenished the cupboards a bit,and the freezer, so we should now be o.k for at least two weeks. I know you probably think I bought the shops up as well, but I didn't, just the basic essentials. More loo rolls, just in case, don't fancy cutting the news paper up, thats when we get them delivered to the shop around the corner.

I think we should get Stephen an award, for keeping his path clear during all this bad weather. I just wish our neighbours had been as obliging. Ours is done, and salt has been put over the cleared path,so that hopefully it wont freeze on the top of it.

Rita, you will enjoy yourself at your daughters for christmas. You will be able to help her out, and not as you think ,be making her more work. She will no doubt be glad of the extra pair of hands in the preparations etc.
Does your sister live very far away from your daughter, if not perhaps you could jump on the train or bus, and visit her for the day.

Ooh Linda, will you take care when you go out please. The paths are so slippery out there, and you dont want to be laid up for christmas.
Roly is the same as your OH,when someone gets stuck in the snow, for goodness sake he will be 66 in January, not 16, mentally maybe but physically not.
We actually got our first post since last Monday today. Only one blessing in that, no bills.

Hi Everyone,

Having a relaxing day today.....

Hope you are all coping in your winterey weather .

The thought of it frightens me, I don't know how to shiver anymore , perhaps I'll stand by my fridge with the door open to get the feel of it ... LOL

I'm all ready clothed for it ,bought some gloves !! just in case.

Jean ...I hope you weren't in pain last night ..rather that you just couldn't sleep.

Stephen .....Chuck me a bacon roll please .....down the Cyber Hatch .Hmmmm

Hi all.

Today we got our first post for over a week as well...........got my letter from Northumbria Police, they've said I can take one of their courses instead of getting points on my licence. I was hoping I'd get the chance to do that.

It's warmer today as well -2, yesterday it was -8, some of the icicles have melted.

Had a fright this morning, the heating didn't come on, the boiler wouldn't start up. Luckily we've got a lovely plumber who got here half an hour after I called him. It's a new boiler and just needed the pressure altered. It was lovely and warm within minutes and my panic was over.

Must remember to never borrow a book off Stephen...............far too dangerous.

It hasn't snowed all day...........so got quite a bit of the deep snow cleared off the paths.

We might get the gritter round next week, now that the snow has finally stopped.

The Banks in England take Scottish money, so can't see why the Scottish Banks won't take cyber money.

Has anybody noticed the race discrimination against the English?

Welsh students go to Uni free. EU students go to Uni free. English students, however, get clobbered. Not very fair, is it?

Vote for insanity - you know it makes sense.

Rita Report 4 Dec 2010 15:44

seems we all have the same type of worry now ice.The roofs of the flats and Bungalows here are free from snow you can actually see the tiles and the paths are clear but the car park and road are melting but we are expecting black ice tonight.

I felt cold this afternoon felt the radiators and fnd they are cold so I am waiting to see if they warm up because of the thermostat ?
I have a scotiish pound note I have had since about 1985 I won it on a pick-up machine when I was out with my mother in Law in an arcade and kept it because the numbers matched my telephone number in Norfolk and I thought that must be a first.. it has got screwed up where I keep it in my purse.
Mo Merlin is on tonight the last in the series. I am looking forward to that.

My sister lives in Hampstead Garden Suburb near Hampstead Heath takes about 40 minutes by car to get to her from my daughters. I stay with her a lot during the year. usually go for a week and stay for two or more .when I go she keeps on at me to stay longer.

My raditors have come on thank goodness for that.

jean where are you today.

I think Uni is free in Scotland as well.........to Scottish people.

Rita, it's nice that you have your sister to go to, it's good to spend time with your family.

I'm pleased that your daughter has insisted you go to her for Christmas, I'd hate to think of you being on your own.

It's chucking it down with rain now folks, lets hope it gets rid of the orrid white stuff.

Rita, I am looking forward to Merlin tonight, I know it's the last in the series,
but they are making a new series soon.
Also going to watch Ann Widdy doing the walk about again, she HAS got to go, there are much better dancers than her ,being unfortunately thrown
of the programme. Thats not fair is it.

Hi everyone,
I must admit that I've benn sat in front of the fire most of the day-one of my favourite occupations. I've watched the TV and read and fell asleep. I decided to have a gllass of wine as well.
Like Dermot says the English do seem to have to pay more ie hospital car park fees and prescription charges as well!
