First take a look on General Topics the heading is
"written by a soldier stationed overseas". by gardenpest29. it is very moving and well worth a read. It starts off with Twas the night befor Christmas
Mo I can hardly wait for the" Merlin "tonight. and "Strickly Come Dancing".it is getting more like" come see the clown costs nothing to watch" I think she will win it, because idiots are voting for her. they must be mad.but perhaps they enjoy spoling a good show. so now you know how I feel about it.
Dermot is right the fee for the car park for hospital is really high, I know they need the money , but surely they could set the fee a lot lower.people dont ask to go into hospital and once you get there they keep you waiting and up go your car park fee. I was kept waiting for four hours once I waited three hour to see the doctor who was late arriving then I had to wait an hour for the Perscription from their medical room the injections I have to do for my cancer can only be given through the hospital not over any chemist counter. they win whatever way you look at it.

What a glorious day......give me sunshine.......lots of it.
It sure brightens up your day.
Loads of wee outside jobs done. Keeps the old homestead ticking over.
New dishwasher finally arrived today. Plumbed it in....working fine.
Started putting up the decorations for Christmas and New Year.
Temperature going down rapidly this evening -5C already.
Pauline.....me dangerous....never....... I've only had one book borrower die on me. ROFL
I used to go to a wee village for my timber when I was rebuilding a house I had. Every time I went there someone died. The timber merchant told me not to come back.........and he was serious..........I think I'm normal.
Hope everyone is well. Catch you all later..

Hi All,
Just had my nails done ......cant do any work now.
Pauline I have always bought my sheets here in USA ...I'll tell you why the fitted ones out here are 18 to 20ins long on the sides and they fit well under the mattress and as I sleep on a duvet I need the long sides to cover the thickness of what I have on my mattress,, and the cotton is Egyptian cotton really smooth to touch, now its only my choice that I like Egyptian cotton........but I'll sleep on anything !! LOL
Rita our fees are high too at the hospital, but there is a B&Q near by and a lot of people are parking there and taking a walk to the hospital.I'm sure it will be stopped soon ,but the car park is huge so no one seems to notice that people park there.
Rita & MO ....at least I'll be able to watch Strictly next week .
Pat that is one of my favorite hobbies especially the wine bit ..LOL

Marilyn,
NAILS ! When I first went to Florida I saw these shops....loads of them...with big signs above them proclaiming.....NAILS.
Me being me, and a wee bit simple, thought
' It must be because all the houses are made from timber and keep getting blown down in Hurricanes that they need all these NAIL shops'
I soon knew otherwise. Ah well, we live and learn Eh !

Hi Marilyn, Mo, Pat and Stephen, Pauline and all others who drop by !!! Getting colder here again, will have to put the heating up a notch. Turned it down earlier as I was moving beds around and got a bit too hot. Now I am sitting it's too cool.Still will do the ironing in a bit. I have only had my nails manicured enjoyed that though. Daughter put false nails on me for her wedding(I'd broken my own). But they wrecked my own when taking them off. I have got my nativty scene out, I did that with little yesterday. And hung my Christmas wreath on the front door this afternoon. So I've made a start.
I spent this evening putting all the family celebrations onto calendars for the family 3 children and both parents. That takes some doing.
Enjoy your TV this evening all. There isn't much I want to watch so I am watching something on sky about women who poison their victims... light entertainment eh.
Linda :o) XxX

If the snow remains firm for the next couple of days I'm going to make some snow sculptures for my wee grandaughters, and for me as well, of course.
It's all my climbing axe gets used for now.
Still need to find a suitable snow drift to make a snow cave for them....that'll be great fun.....and we can have our tea in it as well.
The family have said a firm 'no' to us sleeping in it .Spoil sports. Maybe next year.
The moon has virtually gone now so no lovely sparkling snow tonight when I go outside. The stars should be well exposed in the clear sky. Very little light pollution here so visibilty is usually good for seeing the constellations. I use powerful binoculars.....I'm hoping someone will buy me a good telescope someday.

Snow sculptures. That's different. I've seen sand sculptures. There's this hotel made out of ice somewhere. I haven't seen the moon for ages. I go out as little as possible! I'm going to make a cup of coffee now.

O.k Pat where's our cup of coffee then, tut tut you can't leave us lot out.
Linda, it's not cold here, in fact it's pretty warm, thats a bit of a worry,as it warms up before we get more snow. Your OH must still be at work, with you doing the ironing this late. I'm going to put Roly's shirts in the cyber hatch for you to do for me, is that o.k with you. I hate ironing shirts, I leave them till theres about six of them, then get stuck in.
If you get a good telescope Stephen, could we stand in our gardens and wave to you.
Well Rita what did you think of the last episode of Merlin. I thought it was good. It kind of bought us up to date, with the sword in the lake etc. We can relate to that, having read the book. And Ann Widdy was once again rubbish. The judges are trying to tell people with their comments, that she should go, but theres nowt as queer as folk, and she's bound to get through, yet again.

Hello Patricia,
Do you have any hobby or activity that you do indoors ?
Some Sand Sculptures are amazing. I saw good ones in Weymouth. Must take days of work to complete them.
I can't for the life of me remember where that Ice Hotel is. Must do a Google and find out.
I have dealings with a Charity that operates from down your area. They are very generous but shun any kind of publicity.
I always enjoyed my 'holidays' on the South Coast. Plymouth, Portsmouth, Hamworthy, Portland and many other places were like second homes to me I liked the warm summers and the warm sea.
Keep popping in Patricia.

10 miles from Kiruna Airport.
At the prices they charge.....I'll make my own wee cave.

Hi
I have been sunbathing for the last time I think, housework tomorrow with rubber gloves ...LOL
Linda you are suppose to let your false nails grow and get fillers done as they grow , then eventually you have your own nails back as and when they get filed down.
If that that Ann Widdy is still in it , I call that insult to viewers that have NOT voted for her. a Bloody shambles ..
Hi to our Stephen......
Hi Pat I see you have a new Shopping mall or street modernized in Exeter is it finished Yet ?

Mo I was Glued to the Tv with Merlin tonight I thought it was wonderful and as you said seeing the sword taken from the lake and then inserted in that stone made me think of the books we use to read about Camalot when we were kids. The Dancing was wonderful tonight except for the clown. I know that sounds rude but she is so rude herself I really cannot understand people casting a vote for her. it started out as being funny but now it is painful to watch her,. Those Ice Sculptures I was in Northern Italy I stayed at a Hotel with my sister At Lake Garda we went on a coach tour to Austria and went up the Dolamites to get there passing through different weathers, wet, sunny and when we got to the top crossing over the border it started to snow and I mean snow enough for the snow ploughs at the ready to pull our coach up the rest of the way. when we got to the top. my sister went on the ski chair to the top of the mountain I didnt as I have trouble with heights. I went with a French teacher we had met while there to the valley on a lift and we were shown Ice Sculptures we were told they hold a championship there every year. I have never seen anything like it in my life.

Good evening All. Anyone missed me today.
We got out early this morning. We went to Oxford Street. It was surprisingly quiet down there. Kevin got himself a new jacket and scarf. Then we went and got out Christmas booze this afternoon. Good offers in Morrisons. Get my meat at Waitrose next week, Aberdeen Angus 25percent off. Ducks on offer at Sainsburys.
I have next Wednesday off, so will toddle up there again on my own to rush around the shops and get pressies and something for myself to wear. I have a red dress, but it is a tiny bit snug. lol
The snow has cleared from here, thank goodness. A drop of rain today got rid of the last remnants.
Anne Widdie is determined to hang on, but it really is time for her to go now. Kara and her partner are now officially and item. So is Jimi Mistry and Flavia. So much close contact I suppose.
Hope everyone is well and warm.

Nearly time to come back home then Marilyn. You timed that just right, the snow is now nearly all gone. The roads are almost back to normal as well,so your journey home will be better when you arrive here.
Of course we missed you Maddie, it was very quiet. Back to the grind stone tommorrow for you then. I want to get myself something new to wear for New Years eve. We are going to the golf club for the night, with our family. I'm not sure what to buy, my daughter and her girls are wearing evening dresses, but my other two girls are going casual. We have already got the meats for christmas day, in the freezers. Two joints are in my daughters freezer, and one is in ours.
Night all, speak to you on the morrow.
