Marilyn, I can't believe you still haven't got those wind chimes for Shelly...............and it's 4 years she's been waiting not 3.

Just been sitting watching the exercise routine you do every morning, no wonder you're fit enough to go globe trotting all the time.

It's bitterly cold today, haven't checked the temperature yet but I went to put the bins out and everything is covered in a sheet of thick ice.

Can't see breakfast anywhere, Stephen must still be in the kitchen.

Good luck to Jean today.............fingers crossed for good results.

Morning All.

Thick fog here in London, and very frosty. Lets hope it does affect Marilyn, Heathrow is just up the road.

Pauline is due more snow I think. I have never been very interested in the forecast maps on BBC, but I scan them morning and night now. lol

Hope Jean gets good news today.

Stephen, Mo, Rita,Linda and Shelly. Keep WARM. Patricia and Dermot seems to have got away with the snow. It is positively balmy down there.

See you all later.

Rita Report 6 Dec 2010 09:58

what can I add to make you all feel warm today NOTHING shame that.. it is freezing here. the ground is white. I want to go and do some shopping but think I will wait till about 11 before I go, by then people walking over the frosty bits will have melted it Lol.

I feel tired I went to be tired but I didnt get to sleep till 5 oclock this morning I even took a sleeping tablet I found in the medicine cupboard and that didnt work either.
I think i need a strong drink. I must look like death this morning. although John from flat 4 brought me a book up he didnt say anything. so perhaps I am not too bad.
Jean I hope you get the best results today. I do feel for you. I know what you are going through. I go through the same every three months. it is a real worry.
evryone have a good day.

Got to keep on the top of it or I will be snowed in.

On the positive side.....I need the exercise. ROFL.

Keep warm.....keep well.

Back later.

Stephen poor you with more snow. they showed the parts of Britian who would have more snow this morning on TV I didnt know where abouts you lived so hoped it was not your aera. are the postman still delievring to your part of Scotland ? I had mail deleivered this morning most was rubbish but I did have a letter and a Christmas card guess where the card came from ? Bervie in Scotland (near Montrose ) from my late mother in Laws sister Lizzie
I had to send some card up there on Saturday so wonder how long they would take to arrive. ?

I have been out and did some shopping I was surprised it was not as cold as I thought it would be ? . but there is still snow laying about and it had frozen over night so I walked with care didnt want to fall over. it took me half and hour for a 5 minute walk. I was shocked when I got into Waitrose the shelves were almost bare.six items I needed they didnt have.the manager said they were expecting the lorries today sometime.

Dont strain yourself with all the shoveling.

Rita.

I forgo to say. I went into our local newsagents while out shopping . there was a queue. which went up one counter and down another till it reached the door. I went to put back the book I was going to buy then saw they had come frm the Post Office which is at the back of the shop no one was at the news agents counter. I told her I had been going to walk out without my book. . she told me it had been like that since 9 that morning. people were queuing for their pensions as well as posting mail abroad.

Afternoon Rita and Stephen
Well done on keeping your snow cleared Stephen I am so glad I live down south at the moment. It is just about at freezing here, but most of the snow has gone. Drove out to Reading to get more bits towards Christmas, managed a few. Then driving back down the M4 we ran into a couple of snow flurries just a few moments and hubby drove through it, thank goodness. It has been misty rather than foggy too. That keeps coming and going.
Early this morning the PO van came with a parcel, more of my Christmas gifts for the family, so glad they have come safely. His van was loaded even up to the front seat.
More cards came with the normal post and the rest was junk.
Little is sleeping now so I will have to get on

Mo in Kent Report 6 Dec 2010 14:37

Hello folks.
We still have thick fog here, and when we went shopping the snow started again, it has not laid thank goodness.

Stephen, I am glad you added the word "of snow,"after the nine inches, whew I nearly passed out, my mind went into overdrive. LOL
All this excercise will be building your biceps up, but doing your back in.
I hope you can sit down for a wee while this afternoon, and rest your weary bones.

Rita we were lucky on Saturday, when we went shopping, the supermarket had had their delivery arrive, and the staff were going ten to the dozen stacking the shelves. So we managed to get everything we needed. I got my take a break and chat, in case they ran out, I didn't want to be without them. Got to keep the mind active doing the crosswords and puzzles.

Linda, our postman has still not arrived today. The mail arrives at three-o-clock some days, and last week we had nothing from the Monday till the Saturday.

I am trying to remember, is it today, or tomorrow that Jean gets her results.
Ooooh I do hope and pray that it is good news.

Well our Marilyn should be on her way home by now, all being well. Make sure you look out of the window Linda, if there is a knock on your door. It could be Marilyn popping in for a cuppa. You might need to run the hoover round quickly, if little one has been a made a mess with the crafting bits.lol

Shelly, just to let you know, my runny nose has stopped,I have given it to somebody else. I don't know who they are,and I don't really care,as long as neither of us have got it .

I wonder if Maddie is on a late shift today, thats if she's managed to find her way there in the first place,in the fog. And then she has got the problems of finding her way back home again.

We seem to be going back in time, with our weather. Thick snow, fog that is starting to look like the smog of years ago. Remember when we could not see our hands in front of our faces, back in the 60's and 70's.
What we really want is the summers of years ago. Seasons that we could rely on as well.

Hi Pauline,Yvonne,Sue, Pat, Lady, Dermot and anyone I have forgotten to mention.

LOL Mo, I looked twice at the 9 inches as well, wise minds think alike.

I think it's today that Jean gets her results, I'm sure she said the 6th of December.

Mo in Kent Report 6 Dec 2010 14:58

Thanks for that Pauline. I can be a bit of a scatter brain at times.
Did you have a good look at Marilyn's exercise video. Both of us have watched it twice now,and are wondering if it's really a woman or a man.
If it is a woman, she has got bulges in places where she shouldn't have.
Watch it again and see what you think. lol

I didn't actually look in that area Mo, I'll go and have a look now though...........lol

Edit: I think maybe she just needs to get some Veet!!

Did it make you feel sick? It did with me, nearly brought my breakfast back.

Mo in Kent

Mo in Kent Report 6 Dec 2010 15:21

Not my breakfast Pauline, but my lunch. The pelvic bone is very outstanding I must say.
A waxing job wouldn't have gone amiss, let alone Veet. No wonder she had that thick leotard on,and tights to cover the hairy legs. LOL

Pauline it is so funny to see your little face by your name again the dollar sign ears must have come from the States. Lol
I had an email from my daughter a few minutes ago on Satueday a friend took all my parcel and Cards over to the Post Office for me. she was going so took my stuff as well. I had a large envelope with money in for my Great Grandchildren 11 of them I never send cash but this time I did so worried whether they would get it ? they got it at 2 this afternoon amazing it went second class post. it went from Surrey to London..

Mo I brought my Take a Break this morning it is the Christmas addition I didnt get the Chat last week was the two weeks in one.so is your last weeks ?

My key board is driving me up the wall more letters have vanished now soon I will be typing with no letters ? I have not been out to buy another one yet but that will be my first job.

I have the foot clinic tomorrow so hope we dont get bad weather.

Mo you spoke of the peas soupers we use to get thick fog. I was working in London just off Oxford Street for " Segal Feres "and I was let off earlier as it was a bad this was in about the 46 I got off the train at Dolis Hill and made my way home feeling the wall and fences as I went it was really bad the worst I had been out in. I managed to get to our street and counted the doors along as I went because it wa dark by then I pushed the door open (we didnt bother with locking door in those days) and went in up the stairs to my bedroom to change out of my clothes as they were wet and black spots on through the fog , and realised I was not in my house at all I was in the house next door our neighbours since 1936. I crept down the stairs and met Mrs Mower on the way up I told her what I had done she made me a cup of tea and we laughed about it. I was always getting ribbed about it from my family and neighbours.Mum said didnt you see their wallpaper i said no I didnt look I was more interested in getting ouy of my wet clothes.
I could tell you many tales about those pea soupers we use to have.

Ladies,

I thought your minds sere as pure as the driven snow I've just be shovelling........ all NINE INCHES of it.

Tut, tut.

Well I managed it. Can now see where the driveway is.

The outside of the house has trenches like WW1.

Everywhere I need to go I have had to dig to get there.

Getting worried about the weight of snow on my garage roof. The roof is substantial, I built it, but the snow is about 3ft deep on it. A lot of weight.

Clear sky now and the temperature looks set to go down to about -10C overnight.

The wee birds are emptying their feeders like billyo. I can hardly keep up with them.

Time for a rest now before tea.

Catch you later.

Dermot Report 6 Dec 2010 18:08

What’s all this about Russian spies working as MP’s research assistants? Is that how Moscow won the World Cup venue?

Anyway, Russia should stop wasting time & money in stealing our nuclear secrets. To conquer UK on the cheap, they should just dump loads of snow here. Everything would be paralysed more efficiently & thoroughly - plus the evidence would disappear in due course.

Talking about snow, I must remember to plug-in my electric blanket. Come to think of it, if electric blankets were invented earlier, I wouldn't have bothered getting married.
