A very good morning to you all.
Hope everyone had an enjoyable Christmas day.
Jean how lovely to have new foals
Had a houseful all day yesterday and couldn't get near computer. Today will be much less busy and more relaxing. OH makes the best 'bubble and squeak' ever, so am looking forward to lunch. Grandchildren coming round later to collect presents that they couldn't take home yesterday as the car was too full!!!
Have a good day

Morning everyone. we have sheet ice here again will it never go away ? it is so cold.
I was fed up with the TV yesterday what a load of rubbish. I put a thread out and said so. I hope someone from the channels looks at it and feel guilty.
being as this was the first time I had been on my own (lucky for me ) I never realised what people had to put up with. ?
I am pleased Christmas day has passed.

Jean have you thought up names for those two foals ? I was telling my neice when she phoned last night how you had been in a stable and the birth of the two foals. . Kate lives in Hertfordshire and she was quiet intriqued to hear about it.
My sister and nephew made thir way to midnight mass on Christmas Eve and they said they had to walk in the road as the pavements in Hampstead were f rozen solid. she said good job there was not much traffic about. I think everywhere seems ro be the same.

have a good day. see you later.

Rita.

I am looking forward to reading more.

GOOD MORNING ALL !

A 'Medal' for all who survived yesterday.

Rita,

Monzievard is the full name. And Crieff.

A really beautiful part of my wee country. Crieff was a famous Hydro Town and still has an excellent hotel called the Crieff Hydro.

Nearby is a wee village called Fortingall......birthplace of Pontius Pilate.....the Roman General/Governor that Crucified Christ.

Well I'm better off than you lot. ROFL I don't have any left overs to make dinner with..........it'll be Toast and Beans for us.

Temperature down at -8C just now........but no fresh snow.....thank goodness.

Catch you all later.

Morning Rita,
that book sounds really good. Hope you enjoy it. I love the relaxing and lazing around on Boxing day. I have got to be honest, I always prefer lunch on boxing day as OH cooks and I get the day off, on a normal weekday there are between 8 and 11 to cook for and I usually don't want what I've cooked by the time it's ready !! Had a few good books among my presents so will enjoy getting stuck into one later.

Well good morning people.
I love having the family over, but oh my word, it's hard work.. I have just finished clearing up the debris.
What a lovely time was had by one and all, apart from the chief cook and bottle washer ME.
I just thank the person who decided that boxing day should be a day of rest and relaxation.
I don't know about anyone else, but I am cream crackered. I firmly believe
it's all the tension from the days leading up to the big day, worrying if you have forgotten anything etc.

Oh Jean, how lovely to have the two new born foals. The names you may have chosen, will make people understand what part of the year they were born. Ahhhh lovely.

Rita, I was pleased to read that you had plenty of phone calls yesterday, keeping you in contact with the outside world.

I intend to be a couch potato for the rest of the day. So I will be looking in and catching up with everyones news.
Oh and by the way, I am sure my family think I am smelly and dirty, judging
by the amount of smellies, and body washes and lotions I received. lol

Stephen2009 Report 26 Dec 2010 11:57

Hello, Hello, Hello,

Why does a hoover need to come out on Boxing Day ?

And a change of bedding ?

I had tidied up the whole place and it look grand.....but obviously not to the required standard of Mrs Stephen.

Dishes were all washed and put away. Bins emptied and put in the recycle. Newspapers all in the appropriate place. Fluffed up the cushions on the settees. Worktops cleaned and all the utensils put in the drawers.

I had even taken time to 'tidy' the piles of snow and salt the walkways we use.

Next time I'll go and work in my garage or one of the sheds. That'll fix her....'she who must be obeyed'.

By the way Mrs Stephen was in bed when all this was going on.

NEVER MIND Eh

I ONLY DO IT ONCE EVERY TEN YEARS OR SO... ROFL

When's this Party then ?

Two years on and still gassing...........marvellous.

The 'Friendly Thread' must have something going for it apart from all you gorgeous ladies and us good looking blokes.

Mmmmm a nice cup of coffee, and a couple of biscuits, and solitude.
Roly has gone up the club for a pint, so I am catching up on the soaps I missed last night, heavenly.

Hello Everyone,

Hope you are all well and warm.

Well, feeling a bit brighter this morning. Still coughing, but not as snotty.
I dunno, I look like the Wreck of the Hesperus.

I took my make up off 4 days ago, and havent put it back on, my eyelashes have reverted from sooty black to very pale blonde. I really do look like a rabbit caught in the headlights. lol

My hair needs a blooming good wash too. I am painting a lovely picture here, but I feel like rubbish.

The sun is glinting in through the window, and it really quite pleasant.

I do hope you all had a lovely time yesterday with all your respective families.

Hopefully, back later.

Stephen - you speak for yourself relating to 'good looking blokes'. My face is fit for radio only or so I'm told.

For years, I thought I had a small scar on one cheek but some kindly person pointed out that there was a crack in my mirror.

Still, I could always stand in for Homer Simpson if he was ever incapacitated. Nobody would notice the difference.

Ah! Chocolate doughnuts!

Tell me - who smiles most? Alex Ferguson or Posh?

It's good to hear from you Maddie. Thank goodness you are feeling a little better today.
I hope it did not spoil your day to much yesterday.

Four days with out make up, I bet your skin is crying out, " Ooooh this is lovely, no slap on today."

Hello Mommy,

I am creaming my clock, but not much else. I have the pallid glow of a corpse. lol

No yesterday was fine, I ate a bit of dinner, then collapsed on the settee.

How lovely for Jean to have foals born at this time of year, and the names are wonderful.

Back later.

Hi Everyone.

Maddie I'm glad you are now getting back to normality, my goodness without make-up I'm not surprised you didn't feel NORMAL ...LOL
I put my make up on ....IN BED !! cant step out of bed in case I don't recolonize myself....!!!!!!!!

Jean what great news about the foals....Awhh how about HOLLY & BERRY .....at least they go together as the Fouls are twins I assume ?????

Stephen you are good looking....we have seen you ,but as for Dermot cant tell if he has a good mug yet !!

Mo ...that's right put your feet up ,you deserve that pleasure feeding all them belly's .
Thought I was going t do that today ......but no chance as Son & DIL have gone out spending . So here I am still feeding my lot .

Catherine ....how many have you got in your family? as you sound very busy like Mo.

Hope Pauline & family had a great time...not heard from her yet , mind you she has Brent home and I know its difficult for her to have time to get posting .

Hi everyone, hope you all had a lovely Christmas Day, and hope our poorly friendly members are feeling a little bit better by now.

Hi Marilyn, we're fine thanks - but like you say, I don't have much time to post with son at home all day.

Linda, he doesn't use boards or sign, he just makes noises when he wants something, and the longer he has to wait, the louder he gets.

Sounds like a few of you were shattered after the big day ...........especially Mo, Shelly and Cath.

Jean those names for your foals are lovely, much nicer than what I was thinking (Frankincense and Myrrh) my niece would have been over the moon to have been there with you when they were born.

Rita, I've read your thread about the telly and I agree with you.

I think I've eaten my body weight in chocolate during the last couple of days ...........on top of all the food.

The birds and feral cats have had a good feast with all the leftover food we've put out for them. Just as well really, because the ground is too frozen for them to find any food themselves.

Edit: Marilyn, I was going to say it was 4 years for the thread really, we just accidentally lost the first 2 years of posts.

Oh darn it, I go of line for an hour and miss everybody.

Maz how can you put your make-up on in bed, good grief woman the bedding must get a good dosing as well. lol
I had a quick look in Laura Ashley during the week, but didn't get anything.

Ahh Pauline, we are allowed a few chocholates at this time of year.....or have I got that wrong, if so forgive me father as I have sinned. And after dinner, I will be sinning again, as I want to eat my After Dinner mints, can't have waste now can we.
When does Brent resume his day centre activities again. Do they keep the same days and hours as schools do. Please forgive my ignorance.

Maddie, I wish I could have flopped on our settee yesterday afternoon, but had I have done, I would have got squashed by bodies.
I was in pain from my I.B.S all afternoon, I knew I should not have eaten those sprouts, but by golly, I enjoyed them at the time.

I think I've only had makeup on once in the last 2 weeks ..........but my toenails are always done. The kids are always buying me nail varnish, I've got that much - I could open a stall on the market. I try to use it up by keeping my toenails painted at all times.

Mo, the Day Centre is open every day apart from Bank Holidays, but I keep Brent off during our holidays so he can spent time with us. I like him to have the same holidays as us, so he'll start back on the 4th.

We're having a lot of problems at the moment because his care worker has left the company we're contracted to. They didn't employ anyone to take her place and left us with no help on Thursday. If it wasn't for the bus driver coming in to help us, I don't know what we'd have done.

I've reported them to Social Services because if they do it to me, they'll do it to others as well. They've had 6 girls leave in the last month and haven't bothered to replace them. Some of those girls looked after elderly people who will have been left to God and good neighbours.
