Mo my husband and I rode motors cycle well he drove I rode pillion we had an old ex-army one first a Royal Enfield then we went on to most of them Black Pantha. BSA and Riley the only one we never did mange to afford was a Harley Davidson they were never new cycle we could not afford that he brought them run down and did them up when we had the children we had sidecars attached and had great fun with those. he only paid a few pounds for them.
The days you are speaking about was I think when they had Mods and Rockers the Ace Cafe in North Circular road had them there they made a film for Tv once on the Mods and Rockers at the Ace Cafe (which is still going would you beleive after all this time ) my Aunty Grace was watching the film on Tv and saw he youngest son Kenny there little devil never told her he went there there was always rows and fights It is not like that now most are kind hearted and do a lot for charities.
I bet their bedrooms are not as nicely kept as their motor cycles.

My sister said there is never a dull moment when she goes out with me. she is right I seem to attract trouble l have no idea why.?

Pauline I hope you have sun lotion on if your sitting out there in the garden.

I dont think Marilyn has any money left after her spending she has done lately with clothes

I have done all my washing today the laundryroom was empty so I took over did all my washing two laods and then did some trousers the old aldy who lives a little way from me she is in her late 80's comes from the east end of London alovely old girl she says Blimey this and Blimey that and comes out with some reall corkers. she was doing her washing in the sink so I said leave it I will do that and put it in the machine for you and then the dryer and bring it up to you. which I did. poor old thing falls about a lot and is always being rush to hospital.she said Rita your a bloody good en for doing that for me. it made me laugh. she has the cockney voice. one of 11 children so she told me..

I answered three letters as well see I am a good girl.
Think I will make myself a cup of tea i need it.

For goodness sake Rita, your life is always full of excitement,no wonder you can write about your experiences.
What with trains being held up, because of strange packages, policemen
involved, then to top it all, you nearly become a biker chick, and head of with the hells angels. LOL
Bikers are not nearly as bad these days are they, back in the sixties and seventies, there were a some rum uns about then. But with age, they have all settled down, and do a lot of good deeds for the sick children, and the elderly in our area.
I always wanted to be an angels girlfriend, but it never worked that way,as I was to flippin scared to get on the back of a motor bike.

Linda, don't have to many glasses of the old vino before you get to the BBQ
or you won't remember what you are eating.

I hope you are feeling o.k today Jean, and sitting down and relaxing. Don't
follow in our little gad about Rita's steps,or you will wear yourself out.
Rita is our big sister, who gets all the excitement happen to her. She has the firemen that park at the back of her flats, police in helicopters, train drivers giving her thrills,by stopping the train and going to investigate what she and her sister are up to, ooooh they such naughty girls at times. LOL
I am only jealous Rita, my life is sooo boring compared to yours.

I bet Marilyn and her sister are out shopping for more clothes. It's all the weight she has lost, that makes her want to show of her fine figure now.

And I bet Shelly is out food shopping, or up some tree, looking for Marilyns rellies.

No Pauline today as of yet. I hope you are not overdoing that gardening Pauline, or you will get a bad back.

Yvonne should be home soon as well.

Now all we are waiting for is Sueee, to look in and say hello.

Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond Report 24 Jul 2010 01:28

Welcome back Rita, what a busy time you had with your sister but I am so glad you had such a nice and interesting holiday and journey too eh?

O.h. is back to his normal self, got in a strop cos he missed a payment on his credit card by one day and got a charge, the way he spoke to the person on the phone didn't encourage a refund, stupid person, he has no idea how to get people on his side! He won't use direct debits for much so is always having this sort of problem, even tho he writes things on his calender (we have one each lol) he forgets to check it and this week with the course he thought of nothing else. Now he is frantically panicking about what he can buy me for my birthday!!! He still has to try his suit on to see if it fits or if he is going to get a lighter coloured one to match the groom and bestman and father of the bride, personally I don't think it matters but they have bought him a tie to wear in the same matching colour, lilac. It's not as if this is a posh wedding or top hat and tails stuff, so why he needs to match the others I don't know, his dark grey suit would look fine and he has only worn it twice, once to his son's graduation and once to a funeral since he bought it in 2004 so seems a waste to buy another one to hang in the wardrobe. He is not a smart dresser, which is a shame as I like to see a man know how to dress, I do my best to get him into nice things but nothing really looks good on him as he is so fat now and has very short arms and legs, everything has to be altered.

Shelley, this house of o.h.'s is very small, two bedrooms and a boxroom but he uses the boxroom as a dressingroom and the spare room is full of stuff mostly mine as there is no storage elsewhere, not even any bookshelves or such.

I won't be wearing my new dress until the wedding, have decided it will do as I can't be bothered going round the shops looking for anything else - too many sales on now and nothing suitable in the shops I looked in before, and autumn stock coming in soon. I will have to get the lining soon to make the scarf into a stole and look for new shoes and bag and that will be it, oh and something not to restrictive to hold my tum in a bit lol I am sure I will find the right accessories if I have a couple of afternoons in the city, might do it next week so he can get ready for his night shifts in peace and then I can go back to a quiet house for the night lol

Jean, glad you have a couple of days free of treatment and hope you can spend some pleasant time relaxing or in company to take your mind off things.

Weather has cooled down but stayed dry and forecast is dry for the weekend so birthday should be ok. Not sure what we will do but will sort out some options and see how the day goes. As long as I spend time with my lad, I don't mind too much as it's not a 'big' birthday altho the numbers are big enough lol

Take care all, must clear some emails

love and hugs to all
Lizxxx

My God Linda, you do more in a weekend than I do in a month........actually that might be 6 months.
It's annoying when they cancel an appointment isn't it? It happens to us all the time, hubby puts a holiday in so we can take my son to hospital and then they cancel the appointment.
I hope the new medicine works, you might find out in a few days if it's any good.

Good to have you back Rita, you've been a big miss.
You never have an uneventful holiday when you're with your sister do you? You can never say it was boring. I'm pleased the weather held out for you, just as well you didn't decide to head in this direction - you would have needed a boat.

Marilyn are you relaxing now? I'm sitting here with my bottle of wine and my lappy - that's what I call relaxing.

Mo, you need to take it easy with the knitting, that baby will need a wardrobe to itself by the time it's born.

Elizabeth I don't plan weekends, just wait and see what happens..................which is usually nothing.....lol
Never mind, that's the way I like it.

Don't tell me Shelly is still up Marilyn's tree!! I'll get you a pair of ladders Shelly so you can get back down again.

Welcome back Rita, glad you had a good break, the good weather makes all the difference doesn't it. Plus good company of course.

Good evening Elizabeth and Mo.

Hope you have a good weekend Jean Take care.

I have just got to sew the cardigan together now, knoitting all finished it is a pretty colourand would be suitable for a baby boy too. The wool is by James C Brett called baby Marble Double Knit Shade BM7, 100g made a 20" chest cardigan. I hope you can find something similar. It is sold in our local shop, not specialist wool shop.

Oh my dermatoligist appointment has been cancelled, and hubby has booked a day off for it !!!.
But the consultant has already been back to my GP about the reflux and I picked up a prescrption this afternoon so start the medicine tonight. I have been feeling a bit odd today, all my muscles ache and my left arm feels like somebody has punched it? Hope it's not tendonitis that I had a few years ago as that was agony.

Been in the garden this afternoon and got the sheets washed and dried after the damp start.
Have a coloured wash to do tomorrow so keep fingers crossed and another BBQ in the evening with youngest and the new family get together. First into nextdoor to celebrate their 40th Anniversary. Too many things happening and not enough weekends off for hubby.

Catch you all tomorrow. Sleep well.

Hi Mo

Yes I have a lot of washing to catch up on. but that will have to wai till Monday now.
I bought some lovely t-shirts while in Weymouth at the market not dear ones but I liked them so treated myself. they do have big markets in Dorset you can go to one four times a week one place we went to there were market stalls in all the roads we had never seen so many.
we had a couple of things happen while away we were on the second floor and I heard a terrible noise I said to Sheila what on earth is that only to look out of our big windows to see a air rescure helicoptter hovering outside doing an sea rescure. you could see the pilot it was that close to us.
Then on the way home on the train we had been on it for about 15 minutes when they gave out over the radio that we would not be stopping at one of the stations as a parcel had been found on that station people who wanted to enligten at that station had to go on and a taxi had been laid on to transport people to that area.we were going to whizz pass the station in question we did and I saw THREE POLICE CARS AND A POLICE VAN SURROUNDED AROUND THAT TRAIN STATION. I dont know if it was anything other than someone forgot to take the parcel with them.
we also had a motor cycle rally going on I was thrilled to bits to see so many Harley Davidson motor cycles. there were about hundred bikers. everyone stood and watched. The bikes all polished and spotless The bikers where no trouble.

Hello

I am back from my holidays got back this afternoon, had a lovely time weather hot everyday no rain at all. The Hotel was lovely we had such lovely room and food and the Hotel staff were so nice makes all the different to the holiday we went to see a show "Oliver" first nights opening and sat near the Mayor Lol.
It was excellent show and the threatre was full . I went to Portland Bill and they are building like mad there hundreds of houses ready for the Olypmics they are holding the boat races there.
we went for a day trip to Guernesy and enjoyed that as well. never been to Guernsey before.. also went to Lyme Regis and saw the little house that Jane Austins "Persuasion "was made and walked along the Cob where they all walked on the book
so you see I have been there and done that. I would recommend that place to anyone one . our Hotel had 402 rooms so you can see it was big but very f riendly.. Marilyn I missed the Brucie WDYTYA I was on my way back from Guernsey so l take it nothing came out of your family then
perhaps they will show it again sometime soon.?
I came back to find 14 emails waiting for me.also had a letter from my GP had received a letter from that consultant telling him Rita was not happy with his decision to change my tablets ( f rom that Doctor I told you about who kept messing about with my perscription) my GP sent me a copy. My own GP is going to look after me for my PMR.
I also got a letter for my cancer scan for 3rd August so you see I have all my hospital appointments coming up again.good Job I had my holiday.

Hope you have all been good while I have been away ?????

I hate to say this, but we don't seem to have had the rain that everyone else has been having. We did have a few showers, but nothing to write home about.

Pauline, I know the birth is a long way away, but it's soo exciting, anyone would think it was me that was pregnant. Thank the lord it's not though.
I am dreading her going into labour. She doesn't seem to be able to take any kind of pain at all. She don't know what she's got to look forward to, does she.
And I know she likes her sleep, huh, thats a joke isn't it. We mums got hardly any sleep did we, when our babies were born.
I used to try to stay awake, for as long as I could, so that baby had a really late feed,so that I did not have to get up so often during the night.

Elizabeth, is it right what I have heard. That is there is a man around your way, named Noah, who is building an Ark,as he heard from the weather man about lots of rain in the area. lol...
I will parcel up some of our sunshine, and send it to you. I hope you will enjoy it.

Marilyn are you looking forward to BB tonight. I do hope it livens up soon.
I have got to the point where I am fed up of hearing " I,m lovin it " and "are you buzzin,I am ". Don't get me wrong, but is that the extent of Corrin's vocabulary, if so what must her girlfriend be like.
And JJ must be thick if he did not realise how much his stalker Josie liked him. I am fed up of the pair of them as well.
The programme needs a good kick up the backside,to make it more interesting.
Thats probably why they are putting three more people in tonight. But lets hope they are more fun than the last three, that entered the house.
