Good evening Elizabeth.
No football in this house I'm afraid, we both do not like it. But I am wondering if the final will be between Holland and Germany.
The Octapus that has been doing a lot of the predictions, has predicted that Spain will win tonight,so my theory of a Holland /Germany final, will be blown out of the window if it is proved correct.
Best wishes Mo

Marilyn I knew about the cotton wool buds I knew people that it had happened too. I use to keep some in the house I brought the Boots ones as the cheaper ones tops came off but I use to tell my family be very careful you could get one in your ear..
but even the dearer ones do the same thing. I dont use them in my ear I somethimes clean then ear lobe with one but I am so careful.
I had a friend who use to use them on her babies nose. I told her about the chance of her losing one up his nose but she still went on using them

Oh your poor dad Marilyn, bless his cotton socks. I hope he has got over having his lugholes hoovered out. Can he hear any better now.
I presumed they sucked and didn't blow his ears out. I have visions off wax stuck on the walls if they blew. LOL If it was me they were doing it to,
theres not much between my lugholes, the wax would fly out the other side,
it would go straight through as theres nowt there to stop it.

Hi Rita ,

Yes it was a shock.....and there was my dad about his ear problem saying arent the doctors taking a long time to see me !!!!!!!!!!.

I could have curled up and shrunk ......

I'm still thinking about that them both , I think it would have been better if she rang for an ambulance instead of her driving him up to the hospital , that way he would have gone straight in to the A&E no questions asked .
Lesson learn' t always ring for an ambulance !!!

Rita that's so sad how your Hubby died, but you did the right thing to get help, although the consolation is he knew you did that for him.

I'm off out for dinner tonight at my sisters to tell her all about dad , at least we have a laugh about it , he's so proud to have been in the Navy , when he saw that the doctor was a Navel doctor he tried to tell her all about his war years and boy he goes on & on, he has to end up by saying he was a Petty Officer wow ......just one rank !!!!! the doctors face was a picture , I had to apologize to her for dad ranting on , and she said he's a young 95yr old makes a change to have a chat to someone that old ... LOL

Speak later x

EDIT
Hi Mo just typing while you were ,,, Thanks for the tea.....

Well girls, we are getting spoilt by Jean, with fresh orange juice. We must enjoy it whilst it lasts,it's yummy. Thank you Jean.

I can't believe all this bad news I have been reading today.
But I am so pleased that the doctor, explained everything to you Rita. There
is nothing worse than feeling left out by the medical profession. Doctors so often close shop, and leave you wondering what the heck is wrong with yourself.

Marilyn and Pauline,I hope that the pair of you have got over the shock that you both suffered.

I will make us all a nice cuppa after all.it is that time of day now.

Marilyn
That must have been a shock to your system. it hard to see some one have a heart attack as you do not know what to do first.
That was what happened to me out with my husband driving the car get to the top of a hill we were laughing at something then his head fell back and I saw his eyes rolling I knew it was a heart attack we were not near anyone off the road as well in a lane. I managed to stop the car and I know I was shouting "dont you dare leave me you promised." I pulled to the side of the road wrenched open the door and tried to reviive him but it did not work i saw a bunglaow a little way along rang the bell told them pease phoned for an ambulance my husband is having a heart attack.he had gone
by that time. I was so numb I kept saying what did I do wrong did I go and do something I should not have. it is such a shock to your system . Then it seemed though it had not happened to me but to someone else. He had never had an illness in his life he was 61.
But you did what you could Marilyn and that is the most important thing. I hope he is OK and they managed to save him poor man.

Pauline I will not take the sleeping pills unless l get despert. I have to take enough pills now.

I'm glad you feel a bit better Rita, it puts your mind at ease when someone listens to you and actually does something to ease the problem.

You'll be able to enjoy your holiday better now.

I'm not sure about the sleeping tablets, I don't know anyone who takes them, so I've never heard if they are a good or bad thing.

I've just rang Marilyn and he's been stabilized and sent home. I knew this would happen, he's useless without her, he has us all worried sick.

What a shock you must have had at the hospital, I hope the poor man was alright. I don't suppose he could have chosen a better place to take ill. I hope someone took care of his wife after you left.

Rita Report 7 Jul 2010 11:00

Pauline that was bad for your sisters husabnd I suppose it is all the strain and it is catching up with him now. poor man. I am pleased he managed to pull over before passing out.
He will have to have a large calender with squares so he gets used to crossing off each time he does his injection. so he will not forget.

I had a good morning at the doctors mine was not there so I saw the other one . he was the one who sent me to the hospital for the test for RA. he had the letter I had written to my GP and he said Rita did you type this out . ? I said yes why have I done wrong. ? no you have written that out so clearly and explained it so that Paul and I can understand (Paul being my doctor ) he said congratulations on putting it the way you have. and it has helped me understand what is going on. I said I have cut the steriods down now to 9 m as the hospital Doctor told me . he asked how I felt I said tired and depressed with it all. he said we will keep you on the 9 mg as we will lower it slowly over a period of time. and see how you go on. mean while he explained that the steriods would make me put on weight I said I know the less I eat the more it goes on. he said steriods also make you want to eat more. we talked for a wile he said I will ask Paul to write and tell the hospital we are treating you for your PMR as we have been for the last five years. He gave me some sleeping pills I said I dd not want to take them I did not want to get additted he said they are there should you need them you dont have to take them but they are for you to get a good nights sleep.
I came away feeling so much better after speaking to him.
They are the wonderful doctors always find the time to speak to you never rush you through until they are satisfied you understand things.

Oh my god Pauline...

Poor chap, it could have been more serious thank goodness he had his wits
about him to stop driving ...

Is he still in hospital ?

Now that's going to worry you all now , he best stop driving until he can sort out all his injections on time.

My god its all bad news of late yesterday while I was at the hospital with my dad , a man & wife came to book in , suddenly the man started to have an heart attack at the booking desk, I quickly got a member of A&E to get him in the treatment room , we were all running around like mad people. trying to find a wheel chair .
The poor wife was in tears ,so I consoled her best I could. I came away thinking did he survive that attack ?......I'll never know !!

I couldn't sleep last night thinking about it ...

Rita, I'm sorry to see that you're having such a lot of stress and upset over the kids kicking the ball next to your flat and not being able to do anything about it. And all the hassle you're having with different doctors having different opinions. I hope you manage to get sorted out as soon as possible. You really need this holiday, while you're away try to forget about all the problems you have back home.

Morning all.

Sorry I didn't get here yesterday, I was out all day, and then had a bit of a family problem later. My sister's husband is a diabetic and needs to have 4 injections a day - my sister always kept him right with his injections. Now that she's not here to keep an eye on him, he's forgetting to do it and then when he remembers - he's doing 2 straight off.

Yesterday he had a hypoglycemic attack while he was driving and passed out. Luckily he felt it coming on and started to slow down and pull over. He passed out before he managed to stop the car, so he crashed.

My niece rang his mobile to see where he was (because he was late) and someone answered it saying her dad had crashed and was lying on the pavement semi conscious. She explained that he was having a diabetic fit and needed medical attention immediately. So he ended up in hospital!!

Morning ladies, I have a whole day to myself today, yipee!
Hope you all enjoy your day, what ever you will be doing.
Just watching GMTV, they are broadcasting news items from
Northumberland about the missing gunman, it must be really scary living in the villages where the police are searching.
I have occasionally said 'oh nothing happens where I live' now I say thank goodness it doesn't, wouldn't like to be living there.
I will be thinking about the people having to live through this and hope the man is caught without any more blood shed.

Going to make a cuppa now, anyone like one?

(_) (_) (_) (_) (_) tea or coffee
\_/ \_/ \_/ fresh orange

Bye for now, have a good day.
