Hi everybody, I logged on this morning and had a pm from someone about my tree.............spent the rest of the day researching people for her tree, I'm as bad as Marilyn!! I got so carried away I forgot to come on here.

Rita your dinner sounds lovely, think I'll just come down there because I haven't started anything yet.
I'll have to have a look at my plants to see if I've got the same problem as you, but it's a lot cooler up here so maybe we won't have it.

Linda, do your feet ever touch the ground?

Marilyn do your doors look lovely? Oh and well done to your granddaughter, maybe we should get her autograph now before we have to start paying for it.

Shelly, you need to have a word with Marilyn, she's got you working for her, while she's doing someone else's tree........lol

Liz I hope that part of the family all turn up on Saturday so you get the chance to meet up with them again. Maybe you could celebrate your son's birthday on Sunday instead.

It's ages since I've been to a fete Elizabeth, I used to like going with my mam, she used to spend a fortune at the church fetes.

Mo that's unusual for an 18 year old to like bingo, I wonder if it's just a novelty for her.

I've only gone back one page so I don't know if Yvonne or Jean have been on...........but I'll put money on the fact that Sue hasn't. SUE, get yourself back here!!!

Morning all,

Weather not too bad .....little overcast but the sun is there somewhere !

Baby sat last night, so did not come home until 1am.

Rita. your having a rough time with your doctors , I would take notice of your own GP as its in his hands that he is responsible for his patients care .
But I would certainly make an appointment to see him and tell him all the
problems it causes you .

My god I wish I hadn't mentioned about genealogy yesterday to my carpenter, he asked me what was so interesting me on my lappy ,
I said I do a bit of research for on family tree's .
So guess what he hinted I often wondered where my lot came from ,

SOOOOOOOOOO........I ended up doing his tree !!!

Luckily they all came from Devon so I had all info in front of me of all the maps of streets where they used to live .
And they turned out to be Fair Ground Travelers , how funny as I did court a fair ground lad.. ONCE !!!! LOL he was nice though , didn't last long as my best friend pinched him off of me..
He knew his granddad was a Fair Ground Traveler, and he remembers his father telling him that , but that's where it stopped as his father was a Marine & the Carpenter became a Policeman although he is a Carpenter by trade.

Well that filled up a few hours......and Shelly was doing my lot .. !!!
Oops...Shelly will tell me off now ....

Morning all
Thank you for that Liz I am going into Town in the week so I will go into Dyers and buy some Doff. and meths.
It is strange how it has never appeared before now this is the first year I have been here 7 years. it must be something to do with the weather I would think ? being without rain or too much heat. you cannot win.
But thank you for finding that out for me.
I over slept this morning did not go to sleep till 3.30, it was s hot and I had a lot on my mind. so I sat scribbling notes then was too tired . so lay down and went to sleep I only woke once during the night had a glass of milk sat for a while looking out the window it was such a lovely clear night
hence did not get up till 7.3o
still nothing important happening today so I am not in any rush.
hope you all have a nice day enjoy the sunshine while you can but dont forget the sun cream if your sitting out in it..

Hi all, have put a long screed on J. Jean thread so hope you don't mind catching up there.

Rita, so sorry you aren't feeling too good at the mo with the worry about your prescriptions and such, it must be very confusing and annoying for you.

I googled fluffy cotton wool type stuff on plants and found the following:

The trouble we have in the UK is that it is a tropical insect, and many of our pesticides do not treat the problem, one we have found to be of use recently is Doff, you may have to search around to find it, it is very effective against this type of scale, and several other pests as well, you will probably have to give the plant a good cleaning after a couple of weeks or so for aesthetics. Prior to treatment, take an old toothbrush, dipped in methylated spirits, and having removed any old sheaths ( papery coverings from around the pseudobulbs), scrub gently to remove the majority of the adults.

Mealybug
Usually appears as a cotton wool ball around leaf axils, or inside the sheaths of new shoots, the above fungicide pesticide soon sees them off, but again if its very localized, then methylated spirits on a cotton bud sees them off wonderfully.

So Rita, disregard part of the first paragraph and just note what it says about Doff and meths etc.
I am sorry your poor s.i.l. isn't doing so well, hope the Complan or Build up which is probably what the powdered food is, will help him gain some strength so he can feel a bit better.
Some of the flavours are nice, I used to buy the Vanilla milkshake one and have it if I didn't have time for lunch, when I was working.

Pauline, I have a funeral next Saturday morning, on the same day as my son's birthday - it's the interment of my cousin's wife's ashes but if I don't go I probably won't see some of the people who will be there, again as they are relatives of that cousin and live in Birmingham area. It won't be a sad time for me really as I wasn't that close to that part of the family but will be nice to see the cousin's children now almost as old as me and with grown up sons the same age as my lad.

Marilyn, how lovely for your granddaughter to be chosen. Tom D. has done very well hasn't he? I saw a programme where I think it was him saying how his Dad embarrasses him when he goes to watch him by getting excited lol

Take care all, still very hot in Norwich so might go out this afternoon if there aren't more rows like last week. I am so sick of this palaver over the blasted wedding, wish I didn't have to go.

Dear All

Hello

Hope you are okay.

A little cooler today.

Another fete today only this one had a load of middle class sellers.
It was very poor.

On the way back, we stopped off at the local school fete and the stall holders were friendly and eager to help. The prices for any goods was very reasonable.

Dear Rita........So sorry you are having these problems with the medicines.

Take gentle care all
Very best wishes

Hi Shelly, I dont play online. I keep nipping out during the breaks for my cigs.
I was surprised how low the payouts were as well, considering it cost us £10.00 each to play, but there was hardly anyone in the hall at all.
The smoking ban has a lot to answer for, not that I blame non smokers for it mind you.

Evening all.
Well I didn't win last night, hence my being back here. lol
I went with my daughter and grandaughter, the one who's 18th birthday we have just celebrated. She loves bingo, I just couldn't believe it,at her age I would have thought she would have wanted to go clubbing.
It was funny, she had never been on a one armed bandit before in her life.
She suddenly screamed at us, " look I have won ", we had to laugh, she put £1.00 in the machine, and had won 20p. lol
She's getting into bad habits already. And it had nothing to do with me,I only went along for the ride.
But we had a good girls night out,and a laugh to boot.

It's still stifling hot here, whats it like where you all are.

I walked outside to look at my plants in the little strip of front garden I have and I noticed my Hydranger (which my dear S.I.L brought me four years ago) is full of flower heads but it has a white cotton wool bits all over it. never had this before. so I mentioned it to my upstairs neighbour a keen gardener. and he did not know what it was either ?but hegave me an all over spray to use to try and get rid of it. which I have sprayed on the wooden bits. he walked a cross to others with small gardens on this estate and came back and told me they have it as well.

I phoned my daughter as my dear son in Law is not so well he cannot manage to eat since his big operation for cancer although he has a food powder they gave him.
I mentioned the white cotton ball on my plant. and told my daughter to check hers she said she had looked at her bushes and then found she had the same thing on her olive tree.
Has nayone else got the same problem. I would like to know if so what have you treated it with.

Marilyn that is nice for your Granddaughter I bet she is thrilled to bits..bless her.
so you have posh barn doors now I hope Pete manages to stop them squeaking otherwise he will catch you going into the room for a crafty drink Lol

My book was not a big one Pauline it was one of those Mills and Boon books with two stories in . I think they call them 2 in 1 .
I have a lot on my mind and cannot shut off to go to sleep so I get up make some tea or have milk and walk about the flat before going back to bed and it starts again so i try and read to shut my mind down.
It is all these problems with the hospital. I went to collect my perscription from the chemis(t took it in last tuesday) as St Peters Dcotor phoned me to tell me to go one lower on my Steriods so instead of 10 mg I am on 9 mg. so I sorted and old perscription out wrote down what I needed l mg and took it into Boots who do all the work for me they gave me one lot of tablets but the 1 mg she had trouble with. she said Rita I have a box of 28 but you need two more boxes and I have not got them in I will get them for you Tuesday. she said she sent the perscription to my Doctors surgery and they refused to give me them as they had no idea what was going on.
she said I will phone them monday and get that sorted after I had explained to her.about my doctor telling one thing and the hospital telling me another he is not (the hospital Doctor ) is not supose to be treating me for my PMR my own doctor is he has been doing for four years. I said I am feeling really depressed about it all and cannot sleep.
This morning I got a letter from the Hospital Doctor telling me to cut it down to 9 mg and also to have two blood tests done at the hospital.( blow that ) costs me £10 to get there.so I will take the form with me Tuesday when I get my blood test for my warfarin done at the surgery and have that doen at the same time.
I have typed a two page letter to my Doctor at the surgery and will hand that in when i go and ask for an appointment to sort this all out.it is so silly when even my own GP knows nothing of what is going on and refused to sign the perscription.

so I am not feeling too good at the moment too much on my mind.

Hi everyone, another lovely day, wonder how long this weather will last. Hubby and son don't get their holidays until August, can't see this lovely weather lasting until then.

Shelly you've gone all posh with your gazebo and chandelier, do we have to pay to talk to you now?

Jean, now that we've got another horsey person for Sue to talk to she might come back for good. Plus, Yvonne might pop in more often now that you're here. The rest of us can recognize a horse but that's about it.

Liz you have got a busy time coming up, 2 birthdays and a wedding, hope you get the chance to enjoy them all.

Thanks for the coffee and biscuits Linda, nice of your hubby to do our ironing today *just shoving it throught the cyber hatch*. Have a good day at the rally.

Rita, were you in pain last night? You must have been wide awake if you managed to read a book right through without dozing off. I can only manage a couple of pages and I'm out like a light.

Marilyn what kind of doors did you have? Are you putting hard wood ones on now?

I wonder if Mo won anything last night, she hasn't come back on - maybe she's ran off with the winnings.

And where's that Elizabeth gone, she's getting as bad as Sue for going AWOL.
