Hello Everyone !!

Just popping in..........I have seen where my ancestors originally came from St Clements Cornwall.......he was a vicar , I was told he was a MONK . LOL
In 1495 he was Vicar of St Clements Church , but before that
there was a monastery nearby , so perhaps HIS father was the MONK ...... .

So now I know I have a very old rellie that traced all my Tregaskis family back to St Clements, now I got as far as 1697 and he wrote a book on the family name and traced it back to St Clements.

I was thrilled to go into that church which was 12th century, but all the old grave stones have worn away making it impossible to read,I'm sure they must have been Cornish Pirates as there was a little cove near by just handy enough not to be seen !! LOL

Off now to my cousins house for dinner , she lives in a very old cottage with a pretty white fence around it ......Just what Shelly would love ..

Speak later. Me xx

Hi Sue about time you came back ....LOL

Well a busy morning doing art and craft, round the lake to feed the ducks etc, including child !!!! She fell asleep on the way home so a quiet lunch for me. Then this afternoon drawing, stencilling and sketching for me and then her to "colour". She has gone home now.
Sorting out the bluebells before hubby got home and watering all the pots and seed trays. Tomatoes are coming along well.
Table laid for tonights feast LOL
Hubby preparing a marinade now for the lamb to be BBQ'd. I am having a small pork chop as I don't like lamb personally.
Room almost emptied of toys so the house looks adult, but I have to get things out again tomorrow so left the crafty stuff in boxes where I sit.

Will try to get back on before bed
Hope you all had a good day and enjoy your evening

Rita,my grandaughter has been bought a tortoise,by my daughters bosses. It came by special delivery, and cost them £200.
I did not realise that they cost as much as that,so I was shocked to think that someone, other than family, were prepared to pay that amount off money for one off their workers children.
Well she's not a child really, she will be eighteen next month, and I think it was bought for that reason.
I did ask my daughter if her bosses would adopt me,and treat me as well.lol

Puline they stayed in the garden during the daytime but I put them into their little house in the garage at night they slept in a box with hay in and I let them out first thing in the morning as the winter apporached I started taking them in ealier about 4 then earlier still till I saw they were slowing up then they stay in there little house gave them water and lettuce leaves until they left them, the stayed then till the end of March and I reversed it then later out into the garden and leaving out later at night. I had an 1 acera of garden at one time. but they always came back at night to the back step.
The only time I ever lost one was when I had one tortoise (that was before I had Aunties two ) was in Ealing and I had a back entrances a private road. and someone opend the back gate and Florrie got out lucky one of the neighbours found her and brought her back to me.you needed two hands to hold her she was that big and heavy.
I have a friend in Norfolk Mary she had an annex built on the back of her Bunglaow as she had tortoises many babies as well. they wandered about in that lived in it. she put them into the garage when they
hibernated. she had her oldest one who she said was a bit randy in a seperate box in hay a deep box. she went to stay with her daughter in Scotland for a month and her son who was married looked atfer the bunglaow and he cleaned her garage out took lots of stuff to the tip in Caister left the box with the tortosies in. she came back two days later and went to check on them and found the old one missing and his box her son said he had taken it to the tip. she rushed there and the men checked but could not find her Tortoise it was in a special wooden box.
she was in tears. the news paper printed the story and someone came to see her from the radio it was on that as well but she never got it back
her son was upset about it as well. we never found out where it went if someone found it or if it was tipped out and died as it was in hibination someone might have thought it was dead

Hi all, it's been a lovely day here - warm and sunny all day.

Linda, I didn't know tortoises could dash, not that I know anything about them.

I would have liked to have seen it dash as well Mo.

One of my aunts used to have a tortoise, it was a nasty little thing, it use to bite us.

Rita, did you keep your tortoises in the garden all the time?

My aunt's tortoise used to be in the house most of the time.

Linda I didnt know you had a tortoise I love them I had three titch so tiny and then their was florrie and Tommy Florrie was mine I had her for around 40 years when my Auntry had to move from her house to a flat she could not have Tich and Tommy so she gave them to me. they both died when we had a really bad winter yet they were well cosy in straw and wooden boxes coverd in a thick blanket I use to check them everyday poor Florrie died when I was in Nofrolk 2 years after my huaband died my neigbour made a little coffin for her and we buried her in the garden under a bush.she was so quaint she loved bread and jam and would go to the back step and wait in the morning till l brought it out to her. we really spoiled her infact they were all three spoiled. my Granddaughter has one now someone emigrated gave ti to her so they phoned me to asked me about winter hibination and food to give to them I use to rub i oil onto their shells before they hibinated and when they woke about March I use to wash them in warm watre and redo the oil on their shell.

Mo I went to have my warfarin blood test done but the bottle kept blowing she said it was something to do with the air in the bottle I have no idea what she meant anyway she had to do it three times before it worked. I came home and was so tired I had to have a rest fo an hour.
then I did my dinner and washed up.since then I have been sneezing all afternoon.I dont have a cold so I have no idea why,

Linda,I would love to see your tortoise rushing round the garden. Bless it,
I did not realise they could get up a full head off steam.

Afternoon
Just quickly before hubby gets back.
Got washing done and out this morning before the girls came for tea and a chat. Somehow it dried even though it has been sun then overcast, but must be warm enough. The tortoise is dashing around the garden. Sun is out right now. But still cool.
Enjoy the rest of today.
Hoping to get to the shops................... we need food !!! Shopping list written.

Morning Linda
It is nice to get up to sunsine and a blue sky.
I was pleased the courts came to the conculsion about the cabin Crew.
I am not being funny about it but I feel half these people now come on strike for the sake of having a few days off. there is a shortage of work and people clammering for jobs you would think they would sort some other way out to settle their disputes rather than strike at a drop of a hat.
They hurt ordinary people by doing things like this at the hight of the holiday season. I am not flying off anywhere this year but I feel sorry for people who plan an overseas holiday and then it is not possible to go because of strikes.

Morning All
Well up early again. Have 2 friends coming for tea this morning. So must have a quick tidy up and get a few toys out for a little boy who is coming too. He's the little one I cared for up to Christmas. He is at nursery 4 mornings now and Mum works there for two. So they only have Tuesdays free now.
Sun is shinning again. Hopefully it will last.
Looking better on the travel front too. Firstly I hope the ash blows away. And secondly that cabin crew will come to an agreement and not talk striking again.

Take care everyone
