hi pauline

My sister would not move she lives near Hampstead Heath lovely houses a lot of famous people live there but she likes it she can get to the city in a few moment. I could not afford to move there I would need something like £600.000.
She didnt come she phoned at 9 to say she had been ill all night long didnt know what it was, she thought it might have been the rich food she had on Easter Sunday or Monday she was in bed, said she tried to get up but fell all over the place. I feel awful as I cannot get to her and she is on her own.

Also the district nurse failed to turn up for the sample of my blood for tests so I dont know what happned to her. so it has been a bit of a disaster of a day.

The old fellow up stairs went and got some shopping for me I told him only to get the potatos 2 lbs and some fruit .he took his trolley then my friend came to see what shopping I needed so she got the rest for me.
so I was lucky there. I have to take a perscription to the doctors as I am running out of my steriords and eye drops. so I hope I will be able to walk across and get them on Thursday. I am feeling a lot better and my knee is not so painful now.

Morning everyone, we've got really strong winds here - it's cold as well, I'm dreading going out in it. My car insurance runs out tomorrow, so I need to get it sorted today.

Liz will be going to bed at the same time as I get up each day. Mind you, I don't have time to put my lappy on until after my son goes out.

Rita, that's quite a journey for your sister, have you never thought of moving closer to each other? Will she be staying with you for a few days or going back home later today?

Marilyn, it must have been a terrible shock for the poor woman, I feel sorry for her.

I've got a pile of ironing to do as well but I've got to go out soon, pity Sue didn't live a bit nearer, I could send it to her.

Yvonne, my hubby was working the weekend as well, he had yesterday off but it was too cold and wet to go out so we just sat and watched DVDs all day.

My hubby's like Shelly, he hates visitors - so I have to hope nobody calls round when he's off work. He doesn't mind people coming if they've been invited, he just doesn't like people to drop in without letting us know first.

Linda, I hope we're going to get photos of you all dressed up in your 'Mother of the Bride' outfit.

I wondered what the strange noise was last night, it was Mo's singing!! It sounded nearly as bad as mine.

Morning All.

Sun is shinning and it is not cold sure sign that the Easter Weekend is finished,
I did'nt do much over the wekend. nearly finished doing my jig-saw puzzel. just got to find the little hedghogs and rabbits in the grassy bit then that it..

My son is off to France this coming weekend for his fishing weeks holiday he goes out there three tmes a year. he and the owner of the lake have become good friends.
My sister is coming for the day today, it takes her a couple of hours by bus train and bus so she will be here about 11. 0'clock. she leaves around 6.30. I have not seen her since I stayed with her a few weeks back., I told her I have not been out to buy any food but have some here that will be suitable for our dinner and tea.
she told me not too worry she will get something on her way.

The district nurse is due this morning as well to take some blood samples as the doctor wants to find out why my knee and foot keep swelling and giving me so much pain .

see you all later

Hi Liz ,
Just missed you by a couple of hours....I couldn't sleep.

Liz you might as well have that wedding on Camcorder !! and watch it from your hotel room .....Saves all that traveling. & arrangements & at least you will be able to catch up on your sleep while HE goes to the wedding. LOL
Then you will be nice and snug & not a hair out of place for the reception !
See Liz there is always a way around it.....

Going back to the death on board he died whilst his partner was in the cabin he had asked for nail clippers as was going to cut his nails whilst she was in the toilet ready to go down for dinner, but she heard an almighty bag and found him slumped on the settee unconscious and tried to give him resuscitation and rang the emergency number on the phone .when the Doctors came within 3 mins and pronounced him dead.
So the decision was to contact his nephew by Email from the ship (as he had no children) and it was his nephew that decided to have him cremated
and arranged for his ashes to be sent home.
The Police came on board took photos and was satisfied that it was a heart attack via the doctors report.
So we had to carry on with this poor woman that came with him and went home without him !!

Now today I have visitors, ....I think Shelly had sent her lot to me !!

Linda you seem to be so busy with that wedding of yours ,you wont know yourself when its all over

So going to get some ironing done.........

Hi all, not sure I should say Hi to Marilyn if she didn't bring me back a sugar daddy, fed up with toyboys, need to claim off the guarantee for the one I got lol

Sorry there were parts of the cruise you didn't enjoy Marilyn, I couldn't do that could I? I would miss breakfast every day lol

It's going to be difficult when we have to stay at the hotel where o.h's son is getting married, staying the night before so will have to go to bed when o.h. does and he will have been drinking so will snore, then will have to get up and have breakfast and get ready for wedding. I wil probably take some bagels or such to have with coffee in case I do miss brekkie! I think the wedding is at 12.30pm 8 miles from hotel, so I bet I end up having to drive unless the son arranges a minibus for all the guests staying there. Don't know who yet, possibly o.h.'s ex and her partner, his dad and stepmum, two sisters and their partners, maybe we can get a lift with one of the sisters and the other one take his dad so not too many cars to find parking for at the registry office. Then it will be 8 miles back for the reception and we are staying that night too, going back on the Sunday, it's the Bank Holiday w/e in August.

Anyway glad you are home ok Marilyn, how sad for the partner of that lady cruising with you, not to have the opportunity to say goodbye properly to her friend, I suppose it was the cheapest way for the next of kin to deal with the death but so sad, and so very coldhearted to my mind. May the poor old chap rest in peace.

I hate the tipping bit, we had it in Corfu - left some euros for the cleaner but in truth she wasn't that efficient so we didn't feel like leaving much.

I have a mammogram on Friday, so o.h. will have to bike that day whether he wants to or not, as he wouldn't be home before I have to get there.

take care all, especially Rita when you are bathing, can you not get a grant to have a safer bath/shower fitted ? I hope you always let the water out before trying to get out and do you have an alarm that you can reach if, heaven forbid, you fall? Keep a towelling robe close by so you can put that on to preserve your dignity before you try to get out. I have a job sometimes to get out the bath, always have a rubber mat in there and I let the water out, reach for my robe and put it on while swishing the water round to help clean the bath, then step out onto bathmat. If my fm is bad, I kneel in the bath and can manage to get one leg over the side onto the mat and do it that way, means I wouldn't fall so far then.

Back to the old routine now, he is on early shift so I will go up at 5am and sleep all morning, had a lazy weekend anyway, but have to cook all week :>((

Hugs to all
Lizxxx

I can see all your points more clearly now about your cruise marilyn. I had trouble once when I went to Sorrento and Capri we had to tip the coach driver everyday yet he had been given a lump sum in our moneyhe owned the coaches as well then one day he didnt turn up for the trip and someone else did out tour Guide told us to double our tips to him as he was doing us a favour I wrote to the company when i came back as we had lots of problems going and coming back.

I like you have lots of hospital; appointments coming up three this month and two next month so far. ? tomorrow the district nurse comes to take some blood for tests.
we have all missed your sparkle on here and thought perhaps you had deceided not to come back.

We dont hear from Sue much now infact hardly ever so i dont know if things are all right with her. ? I hope so.
I am doing my jig saw puzzel at the moment ages since I did any .

Morning ALL ..

Well I'll have to do some explaining......!

FOOD on board was ALL day.....BUT breakfast was from 6-30 until 10-am and if I wanted to sleep on as I always did..LOL..... having a late night on board .I would have missed all the cereals that I like.
The evening meal was 1st sitting 6pm or 2nd sitting 8pm.
The time factor was a major thing on board, when we wanted to go ashore on a trip it was always timed that we stayed in places then on to another venue ,there were places that we would have loved to have stayed longer but had to move on.
That was what was spoil' t by timing.
Food was excellent so cant complain about that.
Also it was ALL the tipping saga that the cruise company gave you envelopes for to dish out for the staff !!.
We think we paid enough for the cruise let alone TIPS all round.
We did tip our cabin boy because he was a dear and whatever I asked for he did.( A Chinese boy)..
All the others we were told were paid more and all of them loved their jobs so if the pay was not good I'm sure they would have left.
there was 750 of them .....so who do you TIP ????????

Everyone was complaining about the gratitude's ,but as its an American Company (They all tip in America.) its their custom.
Most of the Aussie's & English were not drawn into the tipping Lark !!

Rita, Pete did enjoy it as I did too ,but it was not his cuppa either as we both felt trapped and ....we seem to enjoy our space at our own time.Age comes into it ..LOL

Happy Easter Everyone ! forgot that yesterday.....

Got grand kids coming this afternoon so I gotta go out and get some eggs somewhere..

Its cold here and I'm not used to it........I'm washing all my summer clothes and putting them all away again......... jumpers are coming back out.!

I feel like a geriatric I had 4 letters from the hospital for various appointments.
Whats the matter with me ?????. need another holiday ...

Oh well I'll put them all on calender and go whenever required.

Now where is that Sue ? She's gone missing again anyone know where she is ?

Morning Shelly- Linda -Marilyn- Mo and Yvonne and Pauline and Lady and Liz. hope I have all the names down. ? . had my shower and washed my hair and prayed I would still be standing when I got out of the shower as it is over my bath. I do this everytime. frightened of slipping.
and no one finding me laying there for a few days. Lol.

Marilyn you never said if your husband enjoyed the cruise ?

I am going to do my washing today working my way to the laundry room two doors up from my block.
I have been sitting doing a jigsaw puzzel I found a pile of them in my wardrobe in the spare bedroom forgotten I had them about 8 (I think ) from 500 pieces to 1000. .
my daughter brought me a Potable puzzel board a couple of years back it is one with a biase on so you can close it and carry it around with you it is a large one but very useful.
I am just going to have some tea and toast now.
see you later.
