Rita, I remember reading about that storm and seeing photos in the paper, it was terrible.
Could be another wedding in the near future then Mo.
Wonder how long it lasts. Never mind, she might change after she's married, she might turn out to be a good wife. You could drop a few subtle hints about cleaning and cooking.
I've got to go out soon, going to see my sister.

I'll have a cup Shelly, it might warm me up - it's freezing here.
I've just had someone out to look at the new carpet I got because it has a fault in it. He's going to order me a new one today.
I've got someone coming out tomorrow to have a look at the new footstools because the hinges aren't on straight. Does anyone ever make anything properly these days?
I hate getting anything new because there always seems to be a problem with it.

Hi girls v ery chilly here this morning but I hope it brightens up later on. I want to go out and buy my "Chat " and "Take a break " books as well as renew my lottery ticket , didnt win anything last night.
Liz I am surprised you didnt know anything about the terible storm we had in the early 90's I think it was we had a lot of the bunglows on the clift at California collapse into the sea. we had furniture floating on the sea and all the bunglows broke uo floated down towards Yarmouth. we had the police come around in cars with loud speakers telling us it was a red alert warning us to get ready for evacuation my children in London phoned me to make sure we were alright they had seen it on the BBC news. Large lumps of the cliffs fell onto the beach blocking the beach so the beach cars could not go along there. It was the worse I have ever seen or been part .of the goverment gave the go a head for Great Yarmouth to get the large Granit stones to help shore up the rest of the cliffs and the work went on for a year we had big Ships come over with the special stones from Norway and Denmark. I have photos somewhere of the before they started the work and afterwards we lost the best sandy beach in Norfolk .yet we still had trouble with landslides along that cliff.

hi all,
Rita, I remember you telling me about the accident in Martham when you first mentioned you lived in Norfolk at one time. It's strange about the post number and funny about the cliff fall, glad you could see the humour in it, even tho it meant you couldn't go there any more. What a good thing you and the dog weren't there when it crumbled away. I hadn't realised there was an erosion problem so near Yarmouth. It;s not an area of the coast I visit much altho I had relatives in Caister for a long time, the Neves, and my brother's wife came from Caister too, Warriners.
Mo, so you have to put a smile on when the lovebirds return then? Hope they can find somewhere to live and won't rush into marriage as o.h.'s son, has, no sooner engaged and she was arranging the wedding and all on a tight budget it seems. I still see it ending in tears! (probably mine, of rage and frustration when I get landed with sorting out the mess, that's what usually happens with his sons!)
Lots to clear out of my email box so better get off here, love to all Lizxxx

Well so far it's been nice today. Walked to the postbox, though then it was trying to rain. After lunch while little one sleeps I have done a bit of gardening. The sun was shining and it was quite warm out......................... I didn't even need a jacket !!! Have done some pots with lillies and pansies. I do so love their little faces. Then I swept the patio out back and cleared some of the borders of leaves and weeds so quite a productive afternoon. Of to eldest daughters for dinner tonight. So won't be around much, will try to get back on when I get home.
Love to all Linda :o) XxX
PS I nearly forgot I had my friendly robin by my side all the time I was out there and then a blackbird started singing , it was so beautiful. Maybe spring is coming.

Rita,my thoughts are with you today. What a coincidence about the thread number. It must be a good omen. Linda you are right about marriages not lasting these days, with the younger generation. I believe it is to easy for them to get fed up,and go for a divorce. Where as our generation worked at it. I have to admit,it is not always a smooth ride, but you have to be able to talk through any problems that may arrive, and work very hard at it and not walk away. As with many couples, you never know someone, till you live with them. And thats when a lot off problems can begin,as he leaves the top of off the toothpaste, and doesn't hang his clothes up after himself. She then gets wound up about it,and the arguments start. I know we have probably all been there, and bought the T/Shirt,but come out the other side, and can laugh about it now.

Thank you Linda. I had my ups and downs as well through our life nothing comes easy thats good does it. ? we struggled when we first got married we also were on a council housing list 18.683 on the list like that for five years and we still didnt get a place from the council I look at TV and read the news papers people moan about the council housing list as though they were the only ones I can tell them we young people didnt get the chance either even when men came out of the forces they had to wait..people complain about having small rooms and many sleeping in the same room we would have been grateful for small rooms then and would have waited to have more children . I had a good husband and thank god I did he was always considerate we always talked things through before we brought anything or changed jobs etc, we never got into debt if we didnt have the money we didnt buy we saved till we had the money often buying second hand items till we could afford new,.but then money was not about then like today.

Good Morning Rita I too will think of you through today. He was too young to go, wasn't he. But he wasn't left disabled, which you both would have hated. And you must have many happy memories, remember the good times. I celebrate my 37th Anniversary this year, not many can say that amongst the younger ones nowadays. Been through a lot too at times.
Hoping it remains dry for a while as I need to walk to the post box. Have the little one so it gets us out in the fresh air.
Have a good day everyone Linda :o) XxX

Thank you Mo and Liz. I am on my own today but get emails from the Kids later on. Liz he was cremated at Gt Yarmouth in October. he wanted his ashes put in a hole along the clift top beneath where he use to sit fishing. my sons did that. I use to walk there with our dog and speak to him for years I did that (we use to say where we wanted to go when we evently died )but he and I never expected it to be so soon. He died of a massive heart attack when we were out driving in the wilds of Marthan. The strange thing was we had a terrible storm some years later and the whole of that cliff fell into the sea . so I didnt even have him to talk to. My mother in law by then had moved back to Scotland and she added an inscription on his fathers gravestone with his name and dates. so I feel he is there with his Dad I use to think well John loved swimming was the army champion in the war years he had such a good senses of houmour he would have seen the funny side of that.

Rita, I am sorry you have had such a long time without your husband by your side. I hope you will be able to remember happy times and your Wedding day as you acknowledge your Anniversary date and I am sure your husband will be looking down on you and sending a lot of love to you.
Is he buried here in Norfolk? it must have been a really sad time for you and him so young too.
We never know where our lives will lead us and when things happen to our loved ones, it changes life for ever.
Will be thinking about you love

I have bee reading "The House of Elliott " can you recall that series that was on TV years ago. ? I still enjoy reading this book as it brings it all back to life , I use to like that series, I watched East Enders this evening will anything happen in that programme to make peoples lives happy again. next week Jack gets shot, they have Phil fighting for his daughter to remain with him. Luke who killed and buried a man. and Stacey vanishing and lucy having an aborstion what next I wonder.
tomorrow I would have been celebrating 59 years of married life my husband died in 1989 in Norfolk while we lived there.l have no grave to visit or book to sign so I feel rather sad about that. I often wondered where I would be living now if he had not died.he was only 62.
