Hi all, just popping in to say good afternoon.

I seem to have loads to do but I'm getting nowhere fast.

Got to get my hair washed now and do my roots. I'm going shopping with my friend tomorrow, she's a hairdresser so she'll notice if my grey roots are showing.

Be back later.

Morning Cath and all others
Shelly can you ask the vicar/priest for a better copy for your grandson, tell him that you also keep all that sort of info as you are really interested in genealogy.

Well I've been out for a walk with the dog already. Bright but quite fresh. I think the gardens will have benefitted from the steady rain we had through the evening and night. Glad I managed a bit of clearing yesterday afternoon.

Had a meal at friends last night. The husband is the one who had the encephalitus(sp). He is still suffering from tiredness and memory loss. But the biggest thing is he has had to say that he cannot drive, possibly for a year as it is thought he had a seizure whilst in hospital. He is angry as he doesn't remember this, well he wouldn't would he. He now blames his wife, but she will have to drive him everywhere. !!

Stephen thanks for the praise for the Berkshire Youth Orchestra, my daughter belonged to it when she was at school, 14 years ago. I am trying to contact my brother as I think my nephew and neice are also members. But I hadn't heard they were away, maybe because they are away?? LOL I went and heard my nephew at Easter in his own schools band, delayed Christmas concert because of the snow. We forget how badly that affected us so short a time ago.

Well cleaning today doggies produce so much hair !!! He goes home tonight, but I need to do it before they come.

I am out tonight for a meal for a friends birthday, but I am trying to watch what I eat Shelly(LOL it just keeps jumping into my mouth though !!!)

Have a good day everyone

Linda :o) XxX :-) <3

Morning all Shelley we use to get a fancy card ( like a big birthday card )on it was usually flowers or a pattern around the edges and a small cross then the names of the child the date and time of the christening .and who christened the child. I still have mine which I treasure that is from 1931 I have them for my three children.
everything has to be a print out from a computer these days dont they know how to write in Italic details of that christening.?

Also everyone today is the offical Tobbaco day 31st May when no one should smoke..

The sun is out but I understand not for long here.

have a good day
Rita.

Hi Marilyn

yes I had seen that one but I'm not sure if it's the one I want, all the Hayes family were from Hollingbourne/Leeds, married there and died there untill early 1900. I've made a note of it, the only way to know is to send for the cert, thanks anyway

Stephen your new contact sounds exciting, good luck

night night

Death..
Robert Hayes ..Dartford Kent 1854 June qrt 2a 151.

hello everyone

hope you are all well,
good news about Mike Rita

Shelly I hope little legs enjoyed his christening and everything went ok

Been on my own most of the weekend OH at work and son went to stay with friends. He's been wanting a tattoo, been on about it for ages so OH and I relented and said he could have one as he is nearly 18. His friend's family have tattoos so he went to the guy they knew and is now sporting a small one on his wrist.....and a second one on his hip, I'll see them tomorrow.

I've been doing my mum's family who are from Cumbria and Westmorland, it's been more complicated than my dad's side, lots of second marriages and common names

My brick is on my dad's side, Robert Hayes born around 1800 in Hollingbourne, Kent. He married Sophia Mills in 1822 but I cant find his death, he is in the 1851 census in Hollingbourne but disappears after that. In 1861 Sophia is living with family in Leeds, Kent. Any clues much appreciated

My husband John and myself and children Camped for years
I went camping with my Mum and Dad an sister our first time at camping was during the war when we went to places like Bournend. and Windsor and places in the country to get away from the bombing we had a plain white tent that held 6 people Dad had to camaflarge the tent incase the German planes spotted us from the air. we had some good times Dad was working in Dehavillans building aircraft at that time.

we then brought a bigger tent at the end of the war and was posh we had two bedrooms we camped at Sheepcote Valley just outside Brighton. we use to spend most weekends there. we didnt own a car so Dad build a little trailer and hitched it too his cycle which held the tent. he went the day before us to Brighton(push bike type) our luggage went by Cater Pattersons when we went for a week or more.while we went on the Brighton express.
when I married we could not afford a holiday so we started camping and did that till 1966 we had canoes which we used at weekends on the canal in Perivale.out little luxury

Linda you would have been welcome for lunch :D We got some lovely cheese and a very tasty crispy loaf covered in poppy seeds, yum yum. No luck with the blinds though, *and* is the only big diy store here and they didn't have one large enough for my big window which is 2 metres 40 centimetres wide :-(
Agatha I hope Oscar is better soon.

Linda,

Before I forget !

I had the pleasure yesterday of being entertained by the.......

Maestros.......Berkshire Youth Orchestra.

The were in Glasgows Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. Grand to see so many young folk being ambassadors for their County.

Berkshire should be justifiably proud of them. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
