Rita Report 30 May 2011 07:59

It has started again this morning I had to sign in again. why are they doing this I wonder ? this is the fourth time I have had to do this in the matter of a few days. perhaps they think I am a spy and not a member. ?
It is not at all pleasant here this morning very wintery looking.

so it being Bank Holiday Monday I suppose it was a doubt whether there would be alovely sunny day.to wake up too.
I stayed up last night to watch the Classics awards. I kept telling myself
youi should go to bed now but stayed. so I expect I will doze sometime today.

Have a good day everyone

be back later.

Morning folks,
dull and overcast here. Not good for a bank holiday :P
Marilyn unfortunately it is an Irish brick wall, I am looking for my GG grandfather born c1840 and the lack of surviving census in Ireland and the fact he had a popular name is making it a nightmare, also he died before 1901 so won't find him on that census either.
Hope everyone is well and enjoys today.

Morning Stephen
Will take breakfast in a few minutes Thanks
Just had a lovely walk round the lake. It's swan lake at the moment as we have 2 new additions they are beautiful, and quite tiny.
The weather is overcast and dull, but warm. Forecast for rain later. I'll believe it if we get it.
The dustmen were here at some ungodley hour, but the recycling is still sitting there. They obviously don't value an early start on a Bank Holiday.

Rita I will add my research later. Some unconfirmed marriages. But I have lots in India and they have been found with the help of others.

Be back later

Linda :-) <3

Cath yes i did watch the footbsll last night. I think i missed one of the Barcelona goals! They were the best team.
talking of names Stephen I was reading a book called Juliet and you know at the back of the book they acknolwledge people there was a person with your name mentioned!
When i was doing my tree research I had this idea that we're all related to everyone somewhere along the line :D
Talking of grand kids, I'm going to be a great aunty in December. I hope this child will be bi-lingual as my niece is married to a German and living in Germany.
I'm going to bed now with a cup of coffee. i've got 2 and a half books to read before Friday. No work tomorrow :D :D

Rita,

A John McCallum, from Spean Bridge fought with Bonnie Prince Charlie in the 1745/46 uprising.

You never know.....could have been a relation.

Rita Report 29 May 2011 20:15

Thank you all for the write ups about your research. I am interested when you tell me things about your tree.
I have done trunks branches and twigs on mine. I have so many that to put them on my tree will take year. and then I get an emails l asking for information on someone that is one of the twigs so it is hard to have to keep going that far back. on the tree.
I have clip files with every family in . Lee . Horwood. Lewis, McCallum Ackland , Butler,..Bowdich , Campbell . Stewart. , McKensie .Munroe etc so I can pick one of those up and give out information if someone asks.

Marilyn I am going to send a letter to DFHS magazine and see if anything comes up. with information about my Absalom I try every so often incase someone new has joined.
there is no where I can turn now. I have really and truly covered everything

My Nephew has flown off this afternoon to France on Business he flys back Friday and stays for two days before going back to Washington.

My son emailed me to say he is begining to feel a lot better, but he will feel even better when he can come home from the hospital.

Evening all,
hope everyone is well.
Stephen grandchildren are just fantastic aren't they. I could never imagine life without them which is why we have not moved to Ireland. They are the light of my life and make every day special. :D :D :D :D
Hope Shellys christening do was a huge success.
Rita I keep finding little snippets on my tree which make me want to look further back. At the moment I'm at a brick wall but determined to find a way over or around it, lol.
Pat did you enjoy the football last night? Barcelona were a different class and made Man U look ordinary which they aren't.
Been painting our kitchen today, it needed freshening up. Going to look for new blinds tomorrow.
~~~~~~~~~ to everyone,
Cath xx <3
Evening All !
Rita......Family Research, I still get wrapped up doing it now and again.
I'm not to concerned about how far I go back.....as long as the information can be verified as accurate.
The 'Brick Wall' jumps up now and again, so I retreat, regroup, and then attack it again. I seek help from others on the same root search and hopefully manage to make sense of it all.
My dear Lady Stephen, is in fact descended from a Princess Navara of Spain, back around 1650s or so, but we are not putting this on our Tree as the information is a bit suspect at this stage........Now I know why she treats me like a servant ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
Had a fantastic day out with my wee lassies. Hope it's not too long before we do it again.
Gonna have a bite to eat and a relax.
Hi All,
Rita ..I have gone as far as 13th century on one of my trees......now not all my own work of course, I got as far as 1685 and a family historian named George Tregaskis
wrote a book on *WHAT'S IN A NAME* and I joined his book as he had my Ancestors already in his book.He was from another branch but never the less we had a lot in common. I still am widening my twigs and you can go on a forever spreadable journey of leaves.
I'm still on 4 other family branches going back maybe 1700's but mainly spreading leaves ....for ever & ever, LOL...... I go as wide as the length !! never ending.
Hi Mo & Pat. Hope you have have a good day , glad your feeling a bit better Pat and enjoy your self with your sister and behave...LOL
I have just had a Curry ...Hmm Home made one I'm full and about to burst.
Shelly ....Whats the latest News...come on we are waiting
Rita I haven't done any research on my tree for ages! A great great grandfather came from Deal and another one came from Stafford!
I'm going out with my sister and brother in law in a minute.
I'm glad I'm feeling better now. Sometimes when I don't feel very well I feel sorry for myself and I wonder why I'm by myself =I =I
Whe I'm feeling fineI always remember once when I was twenty I thought I don't want to get married and I want to live by myself :-) crazy now I've got what I wanted! :D
Rita, in answer to your question love, I have come to a standstill with my tree,and have given up for the time being. It's been such a headache, not only for myself, but for some of our friends on here,who have also been helping me.
Stephen,bless your little darlings. Like you, I have one of my grandaughters here for two days.She is nearly 19, but loves to come and stay with her nan and grandad.
She may only be a little shorty, but by golly she can talk for England, I don't know where she gets her energy from.
I hope that little legs's christening went of o.k.
I have visions of him splashing the vicar, when he does the sign of the cross on his forehead. ( take that you orrible man, for making me wet) LOL
Like everyone else, the washing is all done and dried. A good day for getting it all done and dusted wasn't it.
Oooh Pauline what a good idea, for Lady to put her dogs up as her avatar, I know we would all love to see them.
Hows things been Lady, o.k I hope :-)
Hi Linda,
I've done the same as you washing all out & drying......never thought I would wash today as it was rather cloudy this morning ....
I had a brain storm....started to polish my spare bedroom furnisher changing sheets, ended up ordering a new Mattress on line ....coming on Tuesday, the one I had looked a bit drab..... so now I got the bug to get my feather duster out and wash all skirting boards :S
Now friends have turned up :S But they are lovely I could do with a rest ..LOL
Edit
Oosps waves to Pauline ~~~~~~~~~~~
Afternoon all, the weather can't make up it's mind what to do here. I've got washing on the line with dozens of pegs trying to hold it down, but if the wind dies down I think it'll rain.
I gave up tying to get on here yesterday............ first we had a power cut, then the Internet went down, then GR wouldn't let me in.
Loads of alarms were going off yesterday because of the power cut, people had gone away for the weekend and when the power went down it set off all the alarms.
I had a surprise visit from my nephew and his children, they were up from Berkshire for the weekend........... so yesterday wasn't all bad.
Nice to see you back Lady, I was just thinking you hadn't been on for a while. Can you put your dogs up as an Avatar so we can see them?
Hope everything is going well for Shelly and little legs.
Hello to Eilidh and Darcey, bet you've been having a lovely time with your gran and granddad. I know granddad's had a lovely time with you two.
