I thought that was a lovely poem Stephen thank you for sharing that with us.
I have just been speaking to my eldest son MIKE who had his Kidney removed in January because he had Cancer. tomorrow he has another operation on his good kidney to remove the renal gland it is essantial. he now wears a SOS bracklet and carries a blue steriods card about with him.and a survial kit .
so please think of him tomorrow in your thoughts. He is naturally very worried. the operation is not as long as the last one but we have our fingers crossed that they find his other Kidney in good working order.

It's always seems a long drawn out thing with stones etc Yvonne doesn't it. The hospitals and doctors are never sure what way to treat them.
And lets be honest none of us have very much patience, waiting to be a patient in hospital.
Lets hope they decide what to do soon. Night Night god bless Yvonne.

Night Night Pat, sleep tight.

Stephen I saw The three lives of Thomasina when I was 7 years old. I never forgot that film. The cat in the film was ginger but my Thomasina was black and white!

Stephen2009 Report 24 May 2011 21:48

Pat,

Thomasina the cat. That was the name of a cat in a film that my daughter loved to watch.
It starred Patrick McGohan(Spl) and was filmed in Inverary, Argyll

Hi Yvonne, long time no see.
Hows things with you both?

Mo in Kent Report 24 May 2011 21:42

Pat, we also bought two racks of ribs, for Fridays dinner. We have got our grandaughter coming to stay for the night, and she loves ribs, so thats whats she's going to get.
They are really scrummy as well, and don't take long to cook in the oven.

Heelo all

Stephen your story was sweet.

Rita pleased you had a lovely day with your sister

Mo we had pasta for dinner tonight too, it was almost homemade, the sauce was from Sains*urys but I had to cook the pasta and chop up some bacon.

Mo that pasta bake sounds scrummy! Exeter has got one of those "M" shops but it ins't in put of the city where I live so I've never shopped there.

Aw, Stephen I like that dog story. That reminded me when I got my cat from the petshop. She was the last one left and she looked a bit funny. i loved Thomasina <3

Good evening everyone.

Jeniwren, we lost last night honey. We won our first game 2-0, then came up against a team who went through to the finals, and we lost 2-0 to them.
Never mind we didn't expect to get very far anyway.

I hope young Scarlett is a little better tonight. Young ones are very hard work when they are unwell, and all they want are cuddles and us to reasure
that all will be well with them.
Give her big hugs from me.

Stephen, I loved the little boy story, it's a very humbling tale.

Pat we had Cheese Pasta Bake for our dinner tonight, lovely. We got it from Morri*ons yesterday, I only had to pop it into the oven. Thats the kind of meal I like, no mess to clear up afterwards.

Hows the winds where you all are? It's still blowing a gale here, but hopefully it will drop tomorrow.
My friend is due to fly out on holiday on Friday, lets hope the volcanic eruption doesn't cause to much of a delay.

I hope that Marilyn and Pete are enjoying their break away, and that Pete doesn't overdo things.

Evening all. hope you have all enjoyed your day.
Oh Stephen, you have made me cry, that poem is lovely.
Hope the winds in Scotland have died down now.
Scarlett seems to be getting better, not as weepy and the rash has faded a little.

Wishing a peaceful and restful night to you all.
Night, God bless.

Gets you thinking !

No Charge for Love

A farmer had some puppies he needed to sell.
He painted a sign advertising the 4 pups and
set about nailing it to a post on the edge of
his yard. As he was driving the last nail into the
post, he felt a tug on his overalls. He looked
down into the eyes of a little boy.

"Mister," he said, "I want to buy one of your
puppies."

"Well," said the farmer, as he rubbed the sweat
off the back of his neck, "These puppies come
from fine parents and cost a good deal of money."

The boy dropped his head for a moment. Then
reaching deep into his pocket, he pulled out a
handful of change and held it up to the farmer.

"I've got thirty-nine cents. Is that enough to take
a look?"

"Sure," said the farmer. And with that he let out
a whistle. "Here, Dolly!" he called.

Out from the doghouse and down the ramp ran
Dolly followed by four little balls of fur.

The little boy pressed his face against the chain
link fence. His eyes danced with delight. As the
dogs made their way to the fence, the little boy
noticed something else stirring inside the doghouse.

Slowly another little ball appeared, this one noticeably
smaller. Down the ramp it slid.. Then in a somewhat
awkward manner, the little pup began hobbling toward
the others, doing its best to catch up...

"I want that one," the little boy said, pointing to the
runt. The farmer knelt down at the boy's side and said,
"Son, you don't want that puppy. He will never be able
to run and play with you like these other dogs would."

With that the little boy stepped back from the fence,
reached down, and began rolling up one leg of his
trousers.

In doing so he revealed a steel brace running down
both sides of his leg attaching itself to a specially made
shoe.

Looking back up at the farmer, he said, "You see sir,
I don't run too well myself, and he will need someone
who understands.."

With tears in his eyes, the farmer reached down and
picked up the little pup.

Holding it carefully he handed it to the little boy.

"How much?" asked the little boy... "No charge,"
answered the farmer, "There's no charge for love."

The world is full of people who need someone who
understands.
