Hope you will be safe Stephen. How different this week to when I was there last week. Roads closed, trees down, some deaths, rail closed. I do feel for those who went up this morning.

The little one I look after is wit her granparents next week if her Mum can fly to Singapore, but she told me she may not get out there because of the Icelandic Volcano again.

The problem wit her mouth is a virus, but the Dr prescribed some drops which the chemist can't get at the moment. She slept a lot today and didn't eat very well. I hope she is better tomorrow.

Hopefully Scarlett will be better soon Jean. Take care yourself too.

Thankfully there are no trees close to the house. The trees that are around the area are HUGE, And like all trees they are under a conservation order. The whole area is in fact a conservation area and most of the buildings are Listed.

I would have loved to have been stranded in Majorca. Well for a few days anyway.

Stephen that mus thave been frightening for your daughter. Luckily the tree didn't fall on her house.
i see that some from the flights from some Scottish airports have been suspended. Lucky that wasn't last week Stephen otherwise you would have been stranded.

A tree limb has demolished my daughters garage. The garage is/ was a substantial structure not a flimsy wooden one. The tree limb is huge.

Driving to and from Stirling was like going through a war zone. Trees down all over the place . Causing damage to buildings and cars.

My dear friend, Madge,is in deep sedation. No response at all from her.
Her breathing is very shallow and the tell tale rattle is evident. She is not in pain thankfully.

Time for my supper.

So it was not just me that had a job getting onto the friendly thread.. I dont know why it was that thread that took the full blunt of it. but I kept getting sorry an error accured I tried hitting the blue arrows hoped that would right it but it did not. I manged to get right on just now.
I never heard about the electric cut in Scotland I wonder what happened there ? still Scotland is a big country so I suppose it could be anywhere.

you might not hear from me tomorrow during the day as my sister is coming for the day. I will try and get on in the morning before 10. hope you all have a good night.

Hello everyone, hope you have all survived the strong winds today.
It has taken me almost 2 hours to get on here tonight, thought it was me but I see some of you have had the same problem.
Are all our poorly friends feeling better, I do hope so.
Scarlett is still poorly, she has an ear infection and is also covered in spots, poor little soul doesn't know what is what is wrong, she is very fretful, has fallen asleep twice on my knee. Thank you all for your thoughts for her.

Well what a blowy day it's been. Hope Stephen is safe and sound as parts of Scotland are without electricity. Mind you if anyone will manage without power it's Stephen, lol. Bet he's got a little primus tucked away somewhere :D
Took my mum to the garden centre and I was very good only bought 1 bulb and a small tray of petunias for the wrought iron trough outside our gate.
I'm a happy bunny as we have booked to go back to Ireland in September. :D :D :D
Shelly well done, one day I might be a good girl and join you.

Pauline I had three fireman in the house young at that they were very kind asked me questiuon on fires and excapes if I needed help to call them checked all my electrical gagets and wires. fitted a ten year fire alarm in for me. they stayed for and hour.

I HAVE DONE THIS MESSAGE SEPERATE AS I HOPE GR WILL SEE IT. I HAVE HAD TROUBLE GETTING ONTO THE FRIENDLY THREAD FOR DAYS NOW. EVEN TRYING TO GET ONTO THE GR SITE IS A NIGHTMARE.
BUT ONCE YOU GET ON IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO GET TO THE PAGE YOU NEED TO WRITE A MESSAGE ON. ANYONE ELSE HAVING THIS PROBLEM.

Stephen I found out a bit more about the Submarine my cousin was on when it was torpedoed and he was mentioned in Dispatches it was called HMS Saracen and was an S class. it had a good record.
It went down off the coast of Italy.

I am back from the hospital I got there at 11.30 and was out there at 12.30 I have never been that fast before I had all the tests done. he told me my blood preesure was up. I said I know that.my eyes are not focusing correctly.
The eye pressure was fine I dont have to go back for 9 months the day after my birthday. I told them you have done this so I bring in a piece of my birthday cake. they said too true.
I wait for the letter now to see if what he said was true I want to see it in writing. Lol

Morning all, we've got the gales here........... I was nearly blown away when I went out earlier. It's getting stronger all the time and I have to go out in it again this afternoon.

Jean, I hope Scarlett is feeling better now, it's awful when little ones are ill, they don't understand what it's all about.

Poor K must be really fed up Maddie, I think physio might aggravate his knees even more........ it did with mine. My friend had her knees cleaned out but it didn't make any difference. I think the knees are always the first to go, we put so much pressure on them with sports and things.

Hope you enjoy your little holiday Marilyn, sounds like Pete it doing fine now.

No way Agatha they will find a way to get him back to the USA. whether it is by Submamrine or flying off in a differnt direction. Heathrow has said they learned lesson last time and the planes can now fly through it.

Mind you Stephen might lend him his broom stick it flys higher and faster than mine.

Good morning everyone in friendly thread land, I will have the toast and honey please Jean, and a couple of sausages, I will keep those and have them cold for lunch.
I hope you find Madge comfortable today Stephen, she is a fighter, she is hanging on.
Has your mum been watching the chelsea flower show cath, it gave me loads of idea's yesterday, but as we are soon putting our bungalow on the market, I will have to keep the ideas for the next home.
If we do get the volcano cloud Rita, then planes will be grounded and we get to keep president Obama, just think of the chaos that will cause.
Have a good trip Marilyn, and I always wear a cardigan in bed, I wake up half way through the night boiling hot.
Hope everyone who has been unwell or whose loved ones are unwell soon recover, I am dreading my syringing on wednesday, but I will b a brave girl.

Thanks for my porridge Jean. Hope Scarlett is better today.
Little M is seeing her Dr this morning, Mum thinks she has thrush in her mouth so it needs seeing and treatment before they leave the country.
Enjoy North Devon Marilyn, hope Pete is getting better and the change of air does you both good.
All ironing finished this morning vacuumed through before little comes.
Sun is shining, but quite breezy.
Hope it's not too bad in Scotland Stephen. Our guide has another tour arriving today, doesn't look like they will have such good weather as we did.
But we are rolling towards another Bank Holiday as Pat said and the weather usually changes for that. Think we are now having March winds and April showers now. Still the old saying was "ner cast a clout til May is out " !!
Well done on the smoking Shelly, you are doing really well and love that you say you now have a non smoking house, keep it up. Did your daughter suceed too?

At Least your Mum pointed you in the right direction, she could have pointed in a different direction then you would have had cause to worry.

For Marilyn I suggest a fur lined sleeping bag. it will be better for Pete and save on her electric bill she will have money to spend on clothes. LOL
