Hi Cath,
I'm ok. I'm listening to programme about Bob Dylan on radio 4. He's 70 on May 24th.
I'm sure you could get your money back Marilyn or change the date.i know Pete's ill but I thought it was you who liked the holidays but I think It's both of you! :D :D :D

Lol Marilyn, it is a bit of a mouthful isn't it. Its like a tree and has yellow flowers all over it. We had it as a silver wedding present. I thought it was a shrub (novice gardener) and according to the plant label it would reach a height of 2 metres or so after 5 years! 4 years on and its 4 metres tall and still growing, lol. OH is always threatening to take the shears to it. I'll be taking the shears to him if he so much as looks sideways at it!!
How is Pete? If he's determined to go away that must be a sign he's on the mend. Hope he takes it easy. Mmmm fish pie, the best thing my mother in law cooks, always look forward to it on our hols.
Evening Pat and Rita hope you are well

Stephen I dont have sky TV either. I have a lot of DVD's the reason is my two sons and daughter buy them for me for birthdays and mothers day and at christmas I have not counted them for sometime but must have over 150. I like classical ones like Charles Dickens and Jane Austin I also have a large collection of Catherine Cooksons. I have many war films navel/army and airforce. my family know I am interested in the first world war so I have a large collection of those as well. at least when I have these I can pick and chose what to watch. I dont have to watch the same film withing a few days or a week.
I also like to read. I slowed down reading when I was so ill . but I have started back again. I have two large book cases of these as well. many are histoical books or books on old London. I enjoy books on the mdilands and Scotland and Devon.
I also write childrens stories well did I do now and again as well as poetry so I keep busy otherwise I would get so bored.

Evening all,
been a busy bee today, catching up on housework etc. Even sent the OH up a ladder to clean gutters and wash upstairs windows for me :-)
Did a bit in the garden this afternoon, it was so warm. Fremontodendron is in full flower and drops about a hundred or more each day which need to be picked up and dumped in the compost bin. Lots of bees on the Ceanothus.
Linda nice to have you back, glad you had a lovely time.
Hope K is alright and we hear from Maddie soon.
~~~~~~~~~~~~madly at everyone,
Evening all, I am back from a lovely day at the caravan, Dad planted all the Geraniums in the swan planters, they look very colourful and there were loads of Ducklings everywhere, I think some must have only been a couple of days old, we only live an hour away, so we can nip down for a day, having the bank holiday down there though.
Hello Marilyn, Oscar is sitting on my bed, its a patchwork cover, but it does look white on the picture.
Keep going with the posts stephen.
I hope you enjoy yourself in Norfolk Rita.
Patricia,
Skye is a great Island........when you get good weather. The name from the Gaelic means Island of Mist. (Eilean a'Cheo).
It's not too far north, there is still a fair bit to go before you drop off the end..
Hi Stephen
Yes it was a wonderful trip and this morning the kippers we ordered in Mallaig arrived, safe and sound............... not smelly, though the postman wondered what we had ordered !!!LOL
Our coach driver took us onto Skye too Pat .............. 3 times round the roundabout just so we knew we had been there.
Hubby bought back one bottle of whiskey and 5 minatures all different so he can seee what he likes.. Ummmm.
I bought an arran style jumper in pure wool, cheaper than if I had tried to make it myself.
Oh we got calendars for next year as gifts this time makes a change from fridge magnets. Hope they like them.
Linda :-) <3
I've been to Mallaig :-) in 2002 I went on a coach holiday in Fort William. I nearly had a fit when I realised how far up the country it was. One of the trips I went on was a trip To Mallaig where we got the ferry to the Isle of Skye and then we came back across the new bridge there.
Linda.. Did you visit the Ptarmigan on Cairngorm ? The Cairngorm Funicular caused a major row for years with the environmentalists. That whole area is where I did a lot of Winter Mountaineering. Lovely.
The Rail trips you did are through some really magic countryside. The prip tp Mallaig from Fort William is particularly nice. I have done a lot of sailing off the coast there. Mallaig is a bit of a dump......but it is a hard working fishing port.....can't have both.
My friend Tom McLean lives in Morar.....you know....... the guy who came on our Commonwealth Games trip with Team GR Friendly. Ex SAS and as daft as a brush. {Just like me} Glad you had a good time. Do return.
Rita......I don't watch a lot of telly but do get peeeedddd off by the amount of repeats that are on at times when I want to relax. I don't have SKY or any other Channels like that and I don't have any DVDs of my own. I get into a good non-fiction book.
Ah well better start getting the tea ready, my belly thinks my throats been cut. :-) :-) :-)
And just for the TV Channels :P :P :P :P :P :P
I deslt with all my paper work this morning. and then got rid of alot of paperwork from my box files.
I sat watching two DVD this afternoon "Hobsons Choice " John Mills one of my favourite B/W" Movies.
Then I watched "The American President " with Michael Douglas.
there was not a thing on TV I wanted to watch.
It is about time the TV Authorties sorted out some decent films and drama.s for people to see at weekends. if your into sport your get a choice if your not you get zero.
The films are so old they constantly repeat the same films within a month sometimes within two weeks. I like alot of the old films but not every day
shame there not on tape they might snap if they were. and good riddence to them.
Hi Linda,
Glad you had a nice holiday.
I'vr hada nice afternoon. I've been watching Miss Marple on the Yesterday channel. It was Joan Hickson who played Miss Marple. She's the best Miss Marple as far as I'm concerned.
I hope your arms get better soon Mo. Shame you didn;t give the gloves on.
Gardening isn't my thing
Mo in Kent Report 21 May 2011 16:04
Hi everyone.
Just back from visiting my son's three children. They were all out cutting the grass, and weeding, guess who got dragged into it, yep me.
I must be allergic to one of the weeds I pulled out, as my hand and lower arm are coming out in a rash, even though I wore rubber gloves most of the time, but my hands ended up all sweaty, so I took them off. Worst thing I could have done by looks of it. Allergy cream is now ladled on by the sppon full.
Good to hear you had a nice time Linda. But it's back into the old routine now my friend, washing, shopping and cleaning. Oh boy what a drag it all is.
Has anyone heard from Maddie lately,as she has been absent for quite a while now. I don't believe she has been on Aunty Motie's thread either. I hope they are both o.k, as we never heard how K got on at the hospital did we.
