Thats sad.......

I'll say a prayer as well for Madge....

Just had some really bad news an hour ago.

A very dear friend has only days to live.

She was taken into Hospital on Monday.

Douggie her Hubby is devastated, they have been together for many,many
years.

Madge was kindness in the extreme. She refused no one that needed help.

She has discussed all the Funeral arrangements with her family. They now know what she wants.

I will now go and have a wee quiet time and just pray.

Advert on Irish radio at the moment about the use of mobiles while driving:-

'Missing a call will not kill you. Taking that call while driving just might kill you or someone else.'

Fell out of a tree a wee while ago.......I had been 'Bird Watching' then I slipped off the branch.
I missed the best bit.......she was just getting out of the bath.
I'll need to go back and get my binoculars.

Huia.....I was wondering how Phil was nice to have updated us.its a horrible thing Alzheimers my father in law had it, so I know the suffering that goes with the patient and carer. I just hope a cure can be sorted for the our generation.

Pauline.... you are supposed remind us when your Anniversary is , mind you I have all birthdays logged but not Anniversary's., funny I got married on a Wednesday.

Well Pete has a few hours to decide where to take me tonight , he's in my lounge cleaning out my wood burner and all the brass .....oh its looking lovely so plenty of thinking time for him ... :D

Yes, Pauline, I never know what to say when I visit Phil. I usually just rabbit on about what I have been doing, if he is awake, but it doesnt seem to mean anything to him. Last year I printed off some old photos, A5 size, and put them in a clear file folder and tried showing them to him, but he didnt seem interested. At least it shows the carers his early life though, when he was a kennel hand at the Wembly greyhound kennels, and when he did his 2 yrs nat service in the war dogs army school before following his parents and sister to New Zealand. There was also a photo of Halnaker windmill, near where he used to live, and one of our wedding and some of our children and grandchildren, and dogs and cats, and some of the walks we have done.

Linda, I have email addies for Marilyn and Mo so I could send a photo to one of them to share, if I can find a decent one. Perhaps one our son took of us on our 50th anniversary. He took them primarily because we wanted a recent photo in case Phil went missing and the police needed one. Not that we told Phil that is why the photos were being taken, though I dont think he knew it was our anniversary anyway. He was definitely 'losing it' by then.

I will be off to bed soon, so I might send the photo tomorrow as it takes a while to load.

Pat, that picture of your fascinator doesn't do it justice.......... it looks much better on your head, it's lovely.

I don't have a photo of Cath or Sally, come to think of it........ I haven't got one of Jean or Dermot either. Although Dermot said a picture of Homer Simpson would be just the same as a one of him.

It was my anniversary last week....... 27 years.

That's very sad for you Huia, one of my aunts had alzheimers, it's really strange trying to talk to a loved one who has no idea who you are............ or even who they are!

Marilyn Thanks for forwarding Pat's photo . I love the fascinator it looks good with her dress for the day.

Huia so sad that Phil was unaware of your special day, my parents celebrated their 60th anniversary last November but not sure if my Mum will know this year. She too has dementia and it robs us of our loved ones. Hubby's Mum (who died 6 years ago) was in a nursing home for 4 yrs, but se was Ok in her own way. It is those left who suffer as you loose them early.

Take care and keep adding I enjoy reading your notes. Do you have a picture of yourself you could send to one of us?

Congrats, Marilyn. My OH and I didnt really celebrate our wedding anniversaries. On our silver wedding we even slept in separate rooms!!! We were walking the Milford Track and were put in segregated bunk rooms. When somebody found out later, she said we should have spoken up, but Phil didnt want a fuss made. For our Golden wedding 2 years ago he didnt know what day it was so we didnt celebrate anyway. We have been 'living apart' since then, as he is now in care with alzheimers.

It is warm but overcast I hope the rain stays off till tonight at least. I have the dentist at 11 oclock. no idea what he ir she is like. first time I am going to see him or her.

Nothing other than that planned for today, not like you ladies everything planned well a head.

It's overcast here as well Linda, but really warm, we haven't got the wind today.......... for a change.

Morning all
Bit overcast at the moment, but then it was yesterday and turned out nice again.
Had a nice roast pork meal with my daughter last night for her birthday.
My Australian friends should be here tonight for a couple of days. Bangers and mash for dinner today.
