Hello Mo !

Congralulations !

I've never written to a Great Gran before.

Mo, Concentrate on the Baby and the mother............let the rest fight among themselves if they want to.

Just you let that wee soul know how much her Gr Gran loves her.. That's whats important. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Oh Mo that's sad... has your daughters Ex been to see the baby ?
I wonder who has been the first from her family ......I would be fuming if anyone had been to see my grandchild before I did, like you say Mo he don't sound too good of a man .......never mind I bet she is lovely maybe all will be forgotten in a day or two.

Jean ...What a great looking Horse, so unusual in his black & white . I would think most people stop and look when you are on the road.

Stevey ....My Blankly will be on until its a heat wave....LOL

:D

Congratulations Mo........... you poor old great granny. What a lovely name they've picked for the baby.

I can understand how annoyed you are with your granddaughter, I bet you give her a piece of your mind when you see her. Do you have any idea why she snubbed her mam like that? It seems a strange thing to do.

Jean, Max looks lovely, you must be so proud of him. Sounds like he has a lovely nature as well as good looks.

Shelly, any luck with the photos yet? I'm not sure anyone would recognize people in them because It's hard to make the faces out......... well, it is for me!

Rita, I'm amazed that so many people go to University if it's that expensive. I know they don't have to pay it back straight away but it's still a lot for young people to pay back.

Stephen, when does your son come home?

Yvonne, what did you have to do to win the coconuts?

Hi all.
Well, I am now a great grandmother. A baby girl, Gracie-Mai, born at 9.45 a.m this morning.
I am really annoyed with my grandaughter, she phoned her father after the baby was born, but not her mum.
Her father in turn got great delight in telling my daughter that they were now grandparents.
My daughter has bought every single thing for baby Gracie-Mai, her father has bought nothing at all.
And then she has the cheek to tell her dad first, I am disgusted with her.
As you have no doubt guessed, my daughter and grandaughters dad are no longer together.
The dad gave my gradaughter nothing but grief all her life, and now she has poo'd on her mum from a great height.
My daughter is not allowed to go and see the baby till tomorrow, as grandaughter has said she can't. OOOh I could wring her neck for her.

Thank you Shelly, that is my 'baby' Max, he is very special to me, I delivered him 6 years ago, born Christmas eve, so I actually spent the night in a stable. He is a very gentle boy, takes after his mum, she and Max can both pull my vardo. He used to love people but at the moment he is very wary of them, but I think in time he will trust them again.
Scarlett loves to sit on him, but then she loves horses, not really surprising I suppose.
Hope everyone has had a good day.
We had sun this morning but this afternoon we have had rain and thunder.
Take care everyone.
Jean xx :-) :-) :-)

Rita,
Do you have any photos of your Uncle on board HMS HOOD ?

The Hood Association are always keen to add to their archives with details of anyone who sailed on the ship at anytime.

If you can get me the dates he sailed on her I will pass them on to the Association if you wish. His name, Number, Rank etc would be idle.

Then you will know it will be on record for all time for all to see.

My youngest son phoned to say my granddaughter and my daughter in Law went to Southampton yesterday after going to Portsmouth to look at Southampton University she has deceided that is the one she will head for. my son said she will have to sell the car he brought her for christmas her fees for uni are £8000 a year 3 years course. and her accommadation is £100 a week she has her food and books to buy. He told her you wont need that car it will be taxed and left in the garage, so might as well sell and get a another one after university.
she works at weekend but her money is not good, she is trying so hard to get a job at weekends and evenings so she can save,
shame when kids want to get on and Money once again is the problem.

I didnt know about that reunion for HMS Hood Stephen. I had the hat band for HMS Hood as well as HMS ISIS I wish I knew where I had put them.

My uncle was a regular in the navy then he came out and was out about four years and rejoined when the war started. I have a photo of him in his whites he does look smart. he used to smoke and always put his ciggies in his hat. I use to think that was so funny when I was little, he use to do magic tricks and I would get a penny or three pence come out of his hat magic. he brought me my first Preium bonds the day they came out. god bless him and I still have them.

Rita,

HMS HOOD.......the 70th Anniversary of the sinking is on 24th May.
The Memorial Parade and Service, will be held in Portsmouth as usual.

I should really be at the Reunion Dinner the night before but with my son being away I am not going to bother. The Dinner is in Portsmouth as well.

Blimey, you lot can talk, I'm not on here for a couple of days and you go mad lol

Went to my friend's daughter's school yesterday, they had an open day for the farm. My friends's daughter is doing agriculture for A level. The school is raising money to rebuild the farm and modernise it.
Saw some cute piglets, 18 hours old. I won 2 coconuts on the coconut shy and bought a hanging basket in the shape of a pig. Lots of home made cakes, honey and jam to buy

Jean pleased Max is ok

Cath I went to Brixham three years ago we were staying in Torbay and went out for the day that little bridge is lovely I took many photos of that and the ships in the harbour walked all around the key. I brought a jacket in the mariners shop while there, we saw an old lady who is a vagrant everyone knew her she spends her time sleeping on the benches near the bus station we were told she has been doing this for years people just leave her a lone.
Pauline I have enough sailors in the family dont need to pick any up I let them pick me up . lol I was engaged for two years to a sailor he was in the merchant navy.
Maddie Rita Tushingham brought my relations big house in Polperro it was at the top of the hill many steps to get to it.,Bill owned the bus station you were not allowed to drive into Polperro you parked your car and walked. it is a lovely little harbour. one of my Aunties Aunty Kate worked in the fish shed at one time cleaning the fish that came in on the trawlers during the war my Aunty Ida (my Dads only sister ) went and stayed there in Polperro Uncle Charlie was in the Navy and it was nearer for them to see each other rather than her stay in London everytime his ship docked they managed to see each other,he was the one who was on leave when his ship sailed he was posted to HMS ISIS ( ?) and his ship was sunk HMS Hood. he gave me a little flag off that once. I must have it somewhere no idea where. ? the only thing was his stuff was still on board it all went down the bottom of the sea. he had photos of his son who died aged 5 in the trunk and that broke his heart but someone in the family found another one and gave it too him. he lost all his friends on that. He was torpedoed twice and lost his mate on one of those as well he managed to swim ashore I wont tell you what he found but it nearly killed him.
