Morning All !

Gonna be another fantastic day here. The frost has gone and the sun is splitting the Heavens.

Paris.....never been in the City, I always drove around it, could see the 'Finnin Tower' (as I call it) in the distance. Daughter did a two week work experience there. She loved it. We have had two French Students stay with us a different times. They thought our wee Country was great.

Gonna potter around outside again today and keep moblie.

Yesterday I completed my current course of Dental treatment. It was fun climbing the stairs to the Surgery. Thank goodness the big gap is now closed. It looked awful. Wonder why our teeth don't keep renewing themselves like our skin and nails do, I was gonna add hair to that.....but in my case that would be a lie.

Jean, hope you are recovering from your shock of finding your horse injured by those lunatics with a gun.

Catch you later.

Paris is one of the places I'd love to go to. I just haven't got there yet!

Morning all this talk about frost and cold we didnt have any frost infact it was very warm. I slept with just a sheet over me and this morning when I went out it was lovely I didnt even need a coat.
The sky is blue and not a cloud in sight. well not at th moment.

I wonder how Jean.s Max is ? poor thing I hope the vet could do something for him to take the pain away. These animals must wonder what has happened to them when they feel a pain like being shot of having a knife dug into you. when they are loved by their owner.

Paris how lovely. " I love Paris in the spring time I love Paris in the Fall "
when I First went many years ago and came out of the station I thought how dirty is this but when you moved away from the station I fell in love with it. so have been there four times in the past 6 years, Must admit I love The Tower of London rather the the Eiffel Tower.but the Eiffel Tower is a big talking point to visitors.

well hope you all have a nice day and the sun shines for you all.

Yes Cath, she's a very lucky girl, she has family working in a law firm over there, she's hoping to be a corporate lawyer one day. Her dad lives there most of the year (parents are divorced) so she's going to stay with him.

I hope the operation goes OK today. Maybe you could have a baking session today as well........... it keeps them occupied.

Hi Pauline,
I'm not working today as my eldest granddaughter is having a minor op on her nose and I've got to look after younger ones. Hope you enjoy your baking session. Work experience in Paris, wow, how lucky is that.

You're up and about early Cath, are you off out to work today?

We've still got the kids off school........... well, the Catholic schools are still off. I'll be having a baking session today with one of my nieces, the oldest one is going to Paris for a week on works experience, she had a week of works experience in London earlier in the year.

I hope Jean was alright last night, it was really cold during the night, we've got ground frost this morning. I blame Marilyn for that.......... she begrudged me the sunshine.

Morning all,
Sally hope you are ok. It will get easier over time.
Jean I hope Max is on the mend and you were well wrapped up last night.
Pauline those emails made me smile, the babies are so funny.
Seems like a brighter start to the day down here so fingers crossed the sun will come out.
Hope you are all well and have a good day,

Cath xx

Like Yvonne I have seen Sue on Facebook, but haven't really spoken for a while. Sandhurst Heritage Day is in June so I might see her again then.

Still smoke smelly here and lots billowing about 6:00 this evening when Little M went home. Windows closed all day. Local roads and schools are closed, not sure what will happen tomorrow?? One row of houses have been evacuated, they are the closest to the fires and mainly made of wood!!! I think from Canada in the 1950's I do hope peoples property is safe.

I am fine here so far, about a mile and a half away and hopefully it will be under control soon.

Glad that Max is not too badly hurt Jean. I hope you will be OK as it is forecast to be cold overnight. Oh the thoughtless acts of some people.

Linda :o) XxX

MotownGal Report 3 May 2011 20:21

Evening Everyone,

Pleased your horse is OK Jean, how awful. Presumably it was kids with nothing better to do. People being cruel to animals really makes my blood boil.

I will not be feeding the foxes. Apparently they all tried to pile into my neighbours kitchen the other morning, and turned a bit nasty [they growled] when they got nothing. She phoned the RSPCA, but as they are wild animals they were not prepared to do anything.

Hope everyone is well.

Stephen, keep moving mate, or they will send for the Undertakers.

Oh thank goodness Jeniwren. Make sure you take a good blanket to cover yourself tonight, as if your weather is like it is here at the moment, the temperature has dropped, and it's very cold.
I hope that you both get a restful night love. Take care love Mo xxx

Hello everyone, thank you for all your kind thoughts for Max.
The vet had to sedate Max to remove the bullet, it wasn't in too deep so he was able to do it, have put Max in his stable, am going to stay with him tonight. the council gardeners were cutting overhanging branches off trees and saw what happened, they said it was 2 lads, about 17/18, they both had rifles. I have told the police, they spoke to the gardeners, and they are pretty certain they know the lads, this is the third incident in the last 5 weeks, so hopefully they will catch them. Max is a very gentle creature, he loves people and will go up to anyone who stops at the gate, he thinks no one will ever hurt him, maybe he will be a bit more choosy in who he goes to now. He is one of my two vardo horses, my other one is his mum, she has the same gentle nature but is a bit wary of strangers.
Well I'm going to make a flask of coffee now and a sandwich, get my blanket and go back to Max.
Thank you again for your kind thoughts.
Hope you all have a peaceful night.
Sweet dreams.

Hi Everyone,

Jean how is the horse ?

I'll be back later the door bell has just rung ...

Cath2010 Report 3 May 2011 19:25

Evening everyone,
a wee bit chilly here but at least the sun came out eventually.
Jean I hope Max will be ok, poor defenceless creature. I can't abide cruelty and wonder what goes on in some peoples heads to make them do a thing like that. There are 4 horses in the field next to us, 2 of them have recently arrived from a sanctuary in the uk. They are looking healthier every day and I often give them an apple or carrot when I take the dog out.
Have got the house to myself for a couple of hours so going to make the most of it and do some research.
Hope you are all well,

Cath xx
