LindainBerkshire1736004 Report 2 May 2011 19:11

Hi Yvonne
Not too close about mile and a half or so.
But my son was at his Sister in Laws 4 miles away and he saw the smoke and has been hearing sirens too.
Local pub evacuated and some roads closed. Guess they can't take a risk.

Have some pictures from home if you'd like to see them let me know.

Dermot might be glad I don't have a dog right now !!!LOL

Dermot Report 2 May 2011 17:42

Let me give you a list of just some of the things I must remember to be a good dog:

1. I will not eat the cats' food before they eat it or after they throw it up.
2. I will not roll on dead seagulls, fish, crabs, etc., just because I like the way they smell.
3. The Litter Box is not a cookie jar.
4. The sofa is not a 'face towel'.
5. The garbage collector is not stealing our stuff.
6. I will not play tug-of-war with Dad's underwear when he's on the toilet.
7. Sticking my nose into someone's crotch is an unacceptable way of saying 'hello'.
8. I don't need to suddenly stand straight up when I'm under the coffee table
9. I must shake the rainwater out of my fur before entering the house - not after.
10. I will not come in from outside and immediately drag my butt across the capet.
11. I will not sit in the middle of the living room and lick my crotch.
12. The cat is not a 'squeaky toy' so when I play with him and he makes that noise, it's usually not a good thing.

LindainBerkshire1736004 Report 2 May 2011 15:49

Afternoon
Well it would be lovely here today............. sun shining yet again, but very breezy.
Glad I got the washing done this morning and dried as some idiots(possibly youngsters) have set fire to the local woods !!!
Stupid or what. Danger all round, breathing not easy......... wheezing so windows doors everything closed tight. Masses of smoke in the garden, aircraft flying over must wonder what is going on below. Helicopters hovering. Emergency sirens wailing.
I worry for the birds with their nests and all te other wildlife... deer, badgers foxes, squirrels etc.
I did more painting earlier but have had to leave the windows closed. So I am also breathing in paint fumes.

Otherwise I am having a lovely day here on my own as hubby is working too Yvonne. Luckily he is off for the next 3 days so we might get out to pay some bills buy a gift for our daughters birthday too and post the cards.

Catch you all later.

Marilyn I shan't be going for a walk, I would probably have difficulty breathing !!!

Afternoon all

Hope your leg is getting better Stephen

We've got sun here in Hertfordshire but a bit breezy

OH at work today, he gets double time working a bank holiday. The way his shift pattern goes he usually works the bank holidays except Christmas Day.

Just heard that my brother's daughter has passed her driving test, her 3rd attempt, and she will be 18 on Wednesday. She's already got a car so there will be no stopping her now

Well done Shelly, keep going

Loved the photo Marilyn, He don't look too happy with you wiping his face lol

We've got glorious weather again, blue sky, bright sunshine and no wind. My hubby has quite a good tan - better than he gets in the summer.

How did your granddaughter do Mo?

Rita Report 2 May 2011 11:15

you said it Dermot daft Idea, you could order your shopping on line and go and collect it, that would save pushing and shoving and men standing with mobile to his ear asking his wife" as they have not got something on his list what else should he get in its place." most pensioners I know ,shop during the week anyway unless they are still working.

Morning All,

Lovely and sunny here ,but windy.

Shelly...... 7 more sleeps !! well done so far,.... now don't even have a sly puff they are not permitted any more ..LOL

Going out somewhere today ......but haven't decided yet ,,,,,,Walking !!

Hope you all have a great day ....

Dermot

Dermot Report 2 May 2011 09:14

That's a wild idea. Why do we not 'book' our shopping time slot with the local supermarket?

Sit in the waiting room till our name is called. Fined for non-appearance or turning up late. Pensioners or other non-workers not allowed to shop on Saturdays. Less pushing & shoving - ok daft idea.

Rita Report 2 May 2011 09:07

Mo in Kent

Mo in Kent Report 1 May 2011 20:59

I'm not sure what my grandaughter wants to do when she leaves school Marilyn. She has changed her mind so many times.
But she has been dancing since since was about five years old.
She started doing the team routines, but advanced to latin as soon as she could.
The trouble is getting a male partner. She has trained with another young lady for the past year, and they have received many first placings. But Blackpool has the creme del a creme dancers there.
I heard from my son at about seven thirty, and they had not danced their dance for this evening yet.
I only wish that she could find a male partner, she would have much more success that way.
I am hoping to see her on strictly ballroom one day in the future. Well I can dream can't I.
