morning Catherine. Stephen and all the others that may join in. this morning.
It is a beautiful day here at the moment a clear blue sky. but we have been told we will get thunder. so I will not be a happy bunny.
Stephen sorry about your leg. hope your soon be able to run. but dont try that till you walk without crutches. At least you have a good excuse to the Mrs to take a rest while she does the hard stuff. like tossing the caber.
My husband was a" Mind over matter type " he was always on about that. but it never worked when he was ill. Lol

It's 'Hopalong Stephen' logging in.
I was told by a friend that it was 'Mind over Matter' I didn't need crutches. It was just a figment of my imagination.
So I took him at his word.
Focussed my mind.
I threw away the right crutch..............so far so good.
I threw away the left crutch.................and fell on my ar*e.
Ah well !
I don't mind so what does it matter.
Morning all.
The sun is already splitting the Heavens. Gonna be another cracking day here again.
Did all you lovely women go out and wash your face in the May-Day dew ?
Catch you later.

Morning friendlies, Hope everyone is well this morning. Dull and overcast here but the sun should be out later. Sally I agree with you about the smoking ban in public places. I used to hate it when eating out if someone at the next table was smoking and it drifted my way and I'm a smoker. Its so nice to eat out now and not have to deal with that. I have seen firsthand the damage alcohol can do, not just to the drinker but to the whole family and it is devastating. Whilst smoking is a disgusting habit I have never seen or heard of a smoker beating a spouse or becoming violent after a ciggy. Maybe alcohol should be banned in streets and parks etc as an early morning walk through towns, and parks is a minefield of bottles and cans not to mention puddles of vomit.
Must dash, washing to put out and then a bacon butty for breakfast.

stephen i love this one
Smoking vs Alcohol
one dos your liver and one dos the kidney think thats right
now im a non drinker and i hate people drunk around me
people moan thay dont want to be in the same room as smokers ok fare enuth smoker smell of smoke
well me i dont want to walk in a pub and it smells of stall beer and peolpe fulling all over the place o and drinkers do smell of alcol to a non drinker just like a smoker smells to a non smoker
drinking and smoking both kill so whats the diffrence not a lot
my reson for wanting to give up is not cos i dont want to smoke any more its becouse i dont want to pay over £7 for a packet of 20
if you smoke and drink then you must dubble smell LOL

evening everyone
Woke up this morning with sore head but that went away while I was mucking out the horse, funny how that clears the head lol. Got washing out as it was a sunny day and pottered around stable yard doing little jobs like sorting out the winter rugs for cleaning and repair.
I've never smoked, made me cough but my mum and dad did and my sisters and brother. Dad gave up when mum had a heart bypass, only my older sister smokes now.

Smoking vs Alcohol
What is the worst addiction ?
I get into very heated arguments on that topic.
Have you ever known anyone to kill others because he has been on the fags ?
Crash the car because they are smoking ?
Lose their Job, Wife, family and Home because they smoke ?
BUT ! Put drink into the equation and you have a whole new ball game
If I have to be addicted then please let it be nicotine and not alcohol.
Preferably neither of them.

Creeps in under the smoke haze, sorry folks, it's the social pariah here. whooooo (blows smoke away from the screen) don't want Shelly to get a waft of my ahem c............tte. Wont even mention the name of the nasty substance. It's not easy being a drug adict, and no matter what I have tried, I am a proper weakling, and give in to the devil sitting on my shoulder. Roly gave up after his heart attack, 20 years ago, and when he came out of hospital, I smoked in the garden no matter what the weather was. But under instructions from Roly, I was told not to be stupid, and come back in the house. I have always NOT smoked in the house, when the grandchildren are around. And do worry about passive smoking, so try my damndest not to smoke to much of an evening when we are in together. And I could NOT smoke every time I was pregnant,as it made me sick. But as soon as the baby was born, the cravings came back. Oh how I wish I had never started again, but I did so thats my own fault. Creeeps back into the corner>>>>>>>>>>>>>bye for now folks.

Evening folks, another busy day here, washing, ironing and a wee bit of gardening. Shelly well done, keep it up. I have tried and failed so often to pack it in but like others on here I can go without for hours when at work or when grandchildren are here (occasionally sneak into the garden when I'm stressed by them for a quick puff).
Pauline my 81 year old mother in law had a bad fall, while we were on the ferry coming back from visiting her in Ireland and is now in hospital with broken ankle and badly bruised ribs. Doing well though so fingers crossed.
Stephen hope the knee is feeling better.
Time for a cuppa and a good book, feeling tired. Hope you are all well, Might be back later,
Cath xx

Evening All. Yes, I have surfaced at last.
Been planting and potting all day.
Do you know this halo I wear has slipped a little, and it may strangle me.
I have never smoked, not even a puff, although Mum, Dad and sister all did. Worked in offices where it was a fog. Went to work on the bus where it was the same, no wonder if all went wrong. lol
My first husband [my little joke] used to smoke, but gave us when I became pregnant. Gawd, it was purgatory. He was eating 5 packs of peppermints a day, and being as ratty as hell.
HOWEVER, he came through, and has not touched one since. But he is not sanctimonious about it, not like SIL who inhaled down to her boots, and moans if anyone puffs smoke near her. lol
Well I had a lovely day yesterday, but have lost a vital piece of clothing......
NO, Stephen, dont start.........................
I have lost my fascinator. pmsl

Smoking !
A filthy disgusting habit.
I have never smoked cigarettes in my life.......BUT.......I do smoke cigars.
Started them in 1982 when things in my life had changed dramatically.
Now I wish to hell I had never started them. I make life as hard as possible for me to smoke......I even have a shed at the bottom of the garden that I go to............summer or winter.......so that the smell of my cigars will not pollute the house.
No excuses from me.......I should just give them up..........when I am in an area or situation that I cant have a cigar.......I manage fine......so why not all the time eh !
