Hi Mo,
since my father in law died last year she has no one in Ireland. She has osteoporosis and is also diabetic, asthmatic and high blood pressure. Just heard she has damaged ribs as well. Will know more in the morning, she has been transferred to a surgical ward tonight.
We had such a lovely time with her and took her out and about with us, she coped really well and was so pleased to have the headstone up and engraved, bless her. Its a worry with her living far away from us but she wouldn't leave Ireland even if we wanted her to.
Have missed you guys lots, its good to have a natter.
Having an early night as travel has caught up with me, lol.
Back tomorrow,

Cath xx

Ahhh Maddie, I am sorry to hear you haven't been feeling to good. I did wonder why we hadn't heard from you.
What time are we being picked up tomorrow. ? I can't wait, it's going to be a brilliant day.

Welcome back Linda, you were on my missing list, but I thought you may have been busy with the family,or the garden.
Have you very much left of the blanket left to do. You must take a photo, and let us see how it finishes up. It's a very painstaking task making it isn't it, it must seem never ending. You must be a very patient person, as I would get fed up if it wasn't finished quickly.

It's good to have you back Cath. How sad that you arrive back last night, and your mother in law has a fall the same evening as your arrival home.
I know it's not a nice thing to say, but god forbid, if it had happened while you were there, you could have cared for her yourselves. Thats the problem as we get older, our bones get more fragile, and break easily.
Bless her, I hope she will be able to manage. Have you got family over there to look after her.?

Pat, have you read Martina Cole's," The Runaway". I have just finished reading it, and could not put it down. I kept telling myself, just one more chapter, but I read it in two days.

Rita, I am waiting for "Long Lost Family" to start. I found last weeks episode very good. I've got my tissues ready at my side.

I hope Jeniwren is o.k, and getting ready for her travels this weekend.

Sally, you must join us tomorrow night for the wedding celebrations,at Clarid*es.
Maddie has booked the hotel, and Stephen may be able to pick you up at John Lennon Airport, on his way down from Scotland, he has got to pick Pauline up.. i hope you don't mind travelling by his personal jet.

Man is a woman's best friend. He will reassure her when she feels insecure and comfort her after a bad day.

He will inspire her to do things she never thought she could do; to live without fear and forget regret. He will enable her to express her deepest emotions and give in to her most intimate desires.

He will make sure she always feels that she's the most beautiful woman in the room and will help her to be confident, sexy, seductive and invincible.

Oh hang on a second ...... I'm sorry ....... I'm thinking of wine. It's wine that does all that.

Evening to all my lovely friends, I,m back!!
Got back last evening but been catching up with washing etc all day.
Had a phone call from Ireland at 8 am this morning to tell us mother in law had a fall yesterday evening and is in Wexford General with a suspected broken ankle (not good at her age), waiting on scan to find out for sure and then it might be back to Ireland for OH.
You lot have filled some pages in my absence, lol.
Welcome Sally, another unsuspecting soul has joined the nutty thread!
Shelly I'm 47 too so we are both babies on the thread.
Hope you are all well, its a bit chilly here tonight.
(((((hugs for all )))))

Hi Everyone
Sorry I wasn't around earlier, but Genes locked me out and hadn't renewed my membership.???
So I had to put a new card on.
Spent the morning doing ironing having got up late after having Little M early yesterday and staying up til midnight waiting for Hubby to get home.
Went to my friend this afternoon and met her grand daughter.
Now watching WDYTYA on Sky it's the one about Rick Stein and one I hadn't seen before.
Done a little more of the blanket.

Enjoy your evening everyone

Linda :o) XxX

PS Glad to be back and able to add

O.k where has our wedding planner Maddie got to. I thought we were supposed to be booking into Clarid*es, and doing the sights, if we don't get going very soon, we will miss all the fun.

Stephen, have you got the flight booked to pick Pauline up on the way down.

I would not be very happy camping on a hard pavement, especially if it starts to rain.
Having a nice comfy mattress to lay on,is better than a paving stone.

I've got no idea how many people will be watching The Wedding on the Big Screen with me! I'll be seeing The King's Speech afterwards.

Hi All,

Rita ....I think I read that Gordon & Tony were not members of( Order Of The Garter)
anymore....that's why they where not invited.

Back later doing dinner as pete is starving .

WELL DONE SHELLY .....you'll do it ..

I've bet you've seen more of Devon than I have Rita!
I very rarely go out of Exeter. It's like as if I've got a ball of string and it extends to the city boundaries. In fact I hardly ever go the other side of the river!

Rita Report 28 Apr 2011 15:46

Not in this case Patricia it would have been wrong to have let him go to the wedding. for what his country is doing to its own people.

Dermot my sister and I had a lovely flat when we went to stay in Honiton and your right about hills we hired a car for the week and it was a new one spoke to you. " your door is not closed " Your seat belt is not on. things like that. the first day we thought we would go to Farway it was a hamlet when our ancestors lived there it has grown a lot now.
the thing was we didnt expect to d rive up a hill that was just around the corner the sign post had been hidden by low hanging branches. I dont think I have ever come across a hill like it. a snail could have gone up it faster than us
we also went for walks in Hontion and we were puffed out the amount of up hill we had to walk.

The thing about Hontion is you can get to so many pretty villiages and places from there.

I thought that once you gave somebody a wedding Invite it's a bit rude to turn round to them and say "sorry you can't go"

Dermot

Dermot Report 28 Apr 2011 12:59

Honiton is a lovely town - it's in a valley. I discovered that when I was on a longish (100 miles) bike ride for charity with about 200 other half-crazy cyclists.

Rita

Rita Report 28 Apr 2011 12:46

Honiton made lace for the royal brides for years then one of the Queens think it was Queen Mary had hers made in Nottigham. The Hontion Lace was made for silk worm (ENGLISH ) normal people had it from Chinease silkworms. after that the Queens had theirs made in Nottingham.

I learned Lace Making among many other crafts. it use to take me ages and was not good for my eyes. but I made collars and book marks and edging for dresses and sleeves.

My Mum use to say you take after the family beause they were mainly craft people but Mum didnt know Dads family females were lace makers. we had sailors who did knitting and other craftwork.

Does anyone know why Tony Blair and Gorden Brown were not included on the wedding invitation List ? I dont care really whether they went or not I just wondered if anyone knew why they were not invited.
I am pleased they withdrew the Scyrian off the wedding list.

Morning Marilyn,
I popped out this morning. I had to post some birthday cards for birthdays next week.
I didn't think it was overly warm and the wind is a bit cold.
Rita, i don't think I've ever been to Honiton or at least if I had then I don't remember it!
i'm going to read my book. It takes places in Siena. The ltialians have got pretty sounding nanes for their streets and churches etc.
Ciao!

GRMarilyn Report 28 Apr 2011 10:20

Rita.
How lovely is that !! your family made making lace for the Queen, I would feel very proud of that.

Funnily enough my family were Huguenots from France and alleged they were Lace makers ,but I cant find any evidence of that as all mine were farmers and landed on the South West Coast ....

The sun is shinning although a little chilly .

Now where is the rest of you ?
