Mo the hat I got was one of those things of a band type of thing. It has a flower and some feathers. I felt comfortable wearing it.. It's black/dark brown and my outfit is grey with a pink top underneath. I'm no fashion icon. I don't like shopping! I much prefer to buy books! My attitude is that it'll do!!!

Hoo Flippin Ray, I have managed to get into the site at last. They must have been doing some fault finding, but couldn't find the fault for the amount of times I tried to get on.

It's lovely to hear that you had a good time on your travels Jeniwren. Will you be off again this weekend,as it's another bank holidaay, and plus the Wedding of the year on Friday. Or are you going to be watching the celebrations on the t.v.

Sally, I have always wanted to go on the ferry across the Mersey. Ever since Gerry and the Pacemakers, bought it to our attention with their song.
Shows how much I know, I didn't even realise that they had a tunnel under the river either. So thank you for enlightening me. How long ago was it built, probably years ago.

Pauline, my mum had an electric cooker. The only problem was, she used to think she had turned the rings off, but hadn't, and it turned onto full instead. Oh so many times she had left a tea towel on the top of the stove, and it caught alight. Thank god she had a smoke alarm. But when the dementia set in, she became a danger to herself, and others who lived in the sheltered housing accomodation.
We had to get her a microwave oven instead, and get the cooker removed from the flat.
Thats another reason for my preferring gas, at least you know it is turned off.

hello all iv not done much today just been shoping and doing house work

I got a free book- my sister took part in this scheme. I've got a copy of "All Quiet On The Western Front"

I heard that as well Dermot. they went onto readers group on Tv and asked why more people did not take up the free books offer as they expected many more to do that.
One person said perhaps if they had been in their own countries language, they would have all gone . The Host said the idea was to get the children to read and learn English and be interested in books

Rita - reading does not appear to be a UK accomplishment in schools anymore.

The fairly recent decision by the authorities to 'give away' thousands of books seems to have fallen a bit flat. The demand was poor so I'm told.

Sally you gave me a big laugh when I scrolled down and got your message again and again and again I did that once only it printed it three times. on that occassion I hit submit and it didnt so I hit submit again it didnt move so I tried again and it went the only things was three went.

did everyone send off their census ? I heard someone say they had not sent theirs yet ? I wondered if anyone will get a fine for not posting theirs off. ?

I have been listening to the news and on boiling point. talking about paying to walk through our parks or running they must be mad. we will be charged for beathing soon.many of us brought plots of land for burying family on now they throw soil on top of the graves and bury someone else and charge them for that land.

I tried to get on site but it would not let me . now I know why ? they said they had an error on the site and needed to sort it out, hence my email to Marilyn to tell her why I was not on line. but she appears not to have been able to get on either.

Sally of our Alley you need to delete all but one of your readings you sound like you enjoyed the day ? we have rough weather this morning in saying that I mean cold but this afternoon the sun came out and it has got warmer. the garderns came and mowed the lawns and the smell of grass was wonderful not good for people with allegies., My sister suffers from Hay fever and she would have been out of breath by now.

I'm really pleased to hear your spirits have been lifted Rita, you've been very down lately. It is lovely to have your family around you isn't it?

I don't have a ceramic hob but my mother had one, the rings light up red when they're on - that's how you know where to put your pans. They are very easy to keep clean, but I like gas for my hob. I have an electric oven but a gas hob.

It's freezing today, it was cold yesterday as well.

Jean I am pleased you had a good time. as my daughter and son in law were driving me home yesterday going toward the Airport there was a small lake on the left hand side and I saw a Varda there.how strange is that.?

I did it enjoy it having the family around is a big boost whyen you have felt down, and two see two of the family members with cancers talking and laughing is a big up lift. once Mike has got through this second operation we will see him fatten up a little.

Stephen it is funny going in to a shop to buy a cooker and coming out with a camera. but think of the lovely photo's I will be able to take of you all in
your wedding finery on that special day Friday

while on about electric cookers has anyone got a crematic cooker ?I am trying to see what will be the best. my daughter and son said crematic it will save me a lot of cleaning ? what I wonder is how can you see if your sauspan is on the ring when you have a crematic top.
I had a ten pound win on the lotto last saturday .

Another long weekend coming up, then back to normal [whatever normal is]
my Grandson booked today/Wed/Thurs as holidays so he will have had 11 days off, lucky lad.
I had two days of absolute peace Sat/Sun, on the roads, well country lanes really, the weather was great and I found a lovely farm to stay Sat. night, the farmer was such a nice man, he let me put my vardo by the stream that runs through his land, so I had my supper sitting by a stream with not a human in sight. just my horse for company.
Breakfast is ready.

Cereal, fresh grapefruit or juice.

Bacon, eggs, sausage, mushrooms on hotplate.

Toast, hot rolls or crumpets

Tea or coffee.
help yourselves.

Hi everone Hope you all had a good Easter?
Happy birthday to Mrs Stephens I am sure you had a good day.

We had a BBQ at my daughters on Saturday it was really nice the sun was out and it was so warm. my Grandson James arrived with his family of four and his wife.

My SIL Steve has a beautiful garden pond he built it his-self a long time ago and it is full of Goldfish including two Tench must be 50 or more very large fish many are having babies..I sat under the porche seat enjoying watching them all and eating the food.
My grandson made the bread he makes wonderful bread.and he is not a baker.
The day before my daughter had been washing her ktichen floor and sidded and fell and hurt her left knee she is on crutches and in a lot of pain. Stacey didnt come Ryan has a bladder that is not useable so he now has to wear the little bag.he is so brave about it all. His mother Stacey who had , had so many medical problems has to have a scan this week as she has a lump come on her tummy and they think she has a large Cyst. size of a grapefruit.most of her life seems to have bneen spent in hospital

This morning my daughter took me in the car to buy a new electric cooker I dont want my gas one now. we laughed as her husband drove the car and my daughter had her crutches and I had my walking stick. I was asked why I wore my cardigan as it was so hot ? I showed them my arms which are now covered in bruses and I wanted to hide them as I get weired looks from people.

I did not buy the electric cooker but came out with a smart little digital camera pocket size. I brought it with money I had given me for my christmas and birthday and mothers day.

I have seen the cooker I want but have to find a corgie gas engineer to disconect my gas cooker.

I was sitting looking out the window I said to my daughter two people have gone next door and they looked just like Mike and Jan the bell rang and there stood my eldest son Mike and his wife. I just cried like a fool. he has his next cancer op on 25th of May.

so now you all know what I have been up too over the holiday period.
