Mo in Kent Report 21 Apr 2011 20:54

God evening everyone.
Welcome to the thread Sally, please come back and see us all again sometime soon.
As the heading says this is "The friendlies thread" and we welcome anyone who wants to join our chat.
You don't have to be a nutter to join us, but you will find as time goes by, we can be a bit looney at times.

Talking of bag pipe playing, we had an elderly neighbour over the back of us, who was a pipes enthusiast.
Bless him, he would often be playing at all hours of the day and evening.
We did miss him when he passed away, but not the drone of the pipes at all hours.

Maddie, hopefully Marilyn will be back for the wedding, and we can leave the security guards to her. She will just flutter her eyelashes at them, and they will be putty in her hands.

Is anyone going to watch the new series tonight, at 9.00p.m on ITV, Long Lost Family. I am going to have a shufty at it, to see what it's like.
Oooh I have just noticed the time, got to go it's nearly nine now.

Mo we must vote for what we beleive is out view not what someone else says.
I am voting yes. because I think our voting systems is wrong not working at all. to me it is unfair.
but friend are mostly voting no.

I was so pleased that the queen spent a lot of time speaking to those children today at West Minster Abbey. it was something those children will remember for the rest of their lives. considering she is 85 I thought she looked very well.
I hope she carries on for a few more years.
I beleive that Prince Charlies must be older than Queen Victoria son when he took over the throne.?
I wanted Prince William to take over but thinking things out I hope he stay as he is and enjoys married life and a normal life as much as he can before he succeeds to the throne . the only thing I am not keen on is Carmilla being address as Queen.

Hello everyone.
Rita we had our postal votes papers on Tuesday, all now filled in and sent off.
Good job I had Roly here to explain things to me,or I would probably have messed it up.
Thank goodness they will mark you as DNA, and not DOA. I had to actually read what you had written twice, as I misunderstood, and thought they were after your DNA for testing. To much C.S.I ,and Murder She Wrote watching I do believe.

Hi Pauline, sorry to miss you yesterday. How are you all. Is Brents cold any better now he has passed the germs onto you. LOL

Maddie, I'm not sure if I will take advantage of the masseuse, I don't want to start the rolls of fat moving, or they will never stop.
But the idea of shopping in Bond Street sounds wonderful to me. I will have to start saving my pension, to have a little splurge.

Hello all

Rita we got our postal vote last week, still don't know what to vote on AV.

My OH gave in a form last week at the hospital to book an xray, he got a letter on Monday telling him to go that day at 11am, our post didn't arrive till after midday and he was at work so didn't open the letter till 4 o'clock when he got home ( i don't open his letters )

Pauline, my brother does as he is told, she wears the trousers in that house. I wont repeat on here what else she did which really upset me and my sisters.

Son has gone to Cambridge for a couple of days to stay with a friend, he's gone on the train, he said if he had a car he could have driven, i think thats another hint

All ready for the big day next week, I might go with Rita in her open car and wave to everyone lol

I had the form and listed canidates also one form on voting AV telling me to tick No or Yes. . both lcoal vote and AV votes goes into seperate envelopes.marked wwith A or B

I also has my letter re my warfarin test. no longer do we get a nice typed letter on yellow paper telling you your results and dosage you need to take and the past reading of the test.

you get a card with perforated edging that you have to tear off to get to the card inside.. which you need to read three times at least to understand what they are telling you. the date for my next appointment if 12/7/2011 when I am on holiday. you cannot get inotuch with them no phone calls. so when I dont turn up on that date I will be marked DNA. did not arrive..
why in this morden age do these hospitals make such hard work of everything

Morning all, very misty here - feels a bit nippy. I think it's forecast to be warm and sunny again though. We went for a 3 hour walk yesterday, trying to take advantage of the sunshine while we have it.

Where was Shelly, Mo and Jean yesterday?

Morning all
Back from a lovely walk with the dog again. This morning the lake had a light mist hanging over it, quite ereathral(sp).
Think it's going to be another beautiful day.
The herons and swans have visible nests, but many other waterbirds round there. Mallards, tufted ducks, coots, moorhen, grebe, mandarin to name just a few.
Managed a bit more of the blanket last night, but not much.

Have a good day everyone

Hi Rita
Just back from dog walking. It was a lovely evening and I am quite warm, I think the expression is glowing !!!

I just checked google and found this page:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/threecounties/programmes/schedules

It mentions Wally Webb

Hope it helps

It actually doesn't include Berks as I think we have our own local radio

My KILTS I had two one was McCallum and the other Campbell, I still have a scarf and hat of McCallum. but nothing of the Campbell left.

I have two SKI caps one is a plaid but no idea what clan it is. blue background. I will have to look in the drawer for that one and see if it tells you.

I am going to go in a Red Dress and big Red Hat with a white Rose on and white leather shoes low heels. and Red Handbag. and white gloves.and the band will play " The Lady In Red "
So I cannot go on horse back or fly on my broomstick dont want to crease and dirty my outfit.
So I have hired a car with an open top . I can wave to the crowd and they will think I am someone of importance.

Congratulations to Yvonne's son for passing his test. That's a lot of money for insurance Yvonne, makes me wonder how so many young people are driving around.

Mo, I hope Lilly's parents agree to have a blessing at home so all of your family can go. I can't see any reason why they would be against it though.

Yvonne, that wasn't very nice of your SIL, why didn't your brother tell you about the Christenings?

Maddie, why no kazoos? It's the only thing I can play!

Are you sending a limo up for me, or should I hitch a ride with Stephen?

No Dermot, that's not enough said.............. we want to know what you're wrong about........... well, Pat and I do!

Rita, it'll be nice for you to see your friend and go out for a meal, you've had a lot of stress and worry lately.

Stephen, when I first looked at your post - I thought 'Pauline' was the answer to 'what does a Scotsman wear under his kilt'.

Linda, what colour is your kilt? I used to have a red one (Royal Stuart or is that Stewart).

Mo in Kent Report 20 Apr 2011 16:29

Oh Yvonne, please send my congratulations to your son, for passing his test.
The cost of the insurance for youngsters under 25, is horrendous. In some circumstances, it costs more than a car for them.
My grandaughter was a bit cheesed off, when she passed her test, as she had just paid out for a holiday, so she now has to start saving again.
The way things are going, she will be drawing her pension, before she can afford to buy and run a car.

I am going to suggest that my son has a blessing done for Lilly, down here so that friends and family from here can attend.

Stephen, if you are bringing a Kazoo to the celebrations, the Dor@hester won't allow you in. So perhaps you could bring your triangle instead, it could be hidden in your suitcase.
I have my tambourine ready for packing, if I pretend I am with the Sally Army I may get away with it.

Maddie, are we being picked up by limousines, or should Stephen arrange for the private jet again.
I don't mind catching a train if needs be, but would like to travel in luxury if it's at all possible.
