Yvonne congratulations to your son on passing his driving Test. my son got a quote for my Granddaughter and hers was a shock. he said never mind I wont have to falk out all the money on her fares to and from College. I said no but you have to pay her road tax and Insurance Lol.
The doctor was nice he said I have an ear infection one ear is bad the other not quiet as bad and I have ear drops for them. everyone said I look better than yesterday I said I feel it. I caught a bus to Sainsburys this afternoon just for a ride out it was so hot I was pleased to get back home. The compies think the Kids parents can pay. it is such a shame they do this to the young people. why can they not give them a chance. ?
I just emailed my friend in Norfolk and told her I was going to see her in June. and that I would phone her when I got there and make arrangement to meet and have a meal out.. I was not going to say anthing as I have appointmments before then and worry something will go wrong. Dentist on 11th the eye hospital on 23 the scan sometime in the next week and the 7th June the cancer hospital to get scan results. Then Mike has to have the other operation on 25th May he is so worried as he only has one kidney now and they are removing the renal off that he is worried they will find that is cancerous as well. so please say a prayer for him at church.he need the support.
Tomorrow is a happy and a sad happy because it is Charlies birthday he will be three and sad because his twin brother Oscar died three hours after he was born. they are my Great Grandsons. how the time had flown.

Afternoon all
Mo, I agree with Rita and Pauline, perhaps you could ask your vicar about a blessingthen a family celebration afterwards.
At least you had an invite, when my niece and nephew had their christenings we didn't know till after the event, sil didn't invite us, she reconed we wouldn't come cos we live 80 miles away. But then thats her all over!
My son passed his driving test yesterday, now he's badgering me for a car, he's been getting quotes for insurance, what a nightmare! Between 3000 and 4000 pounds!!!!! How do these companies think kids are going to be able to afford these premiums.

Patricia, More intriuing than an Agatha Christie Novel.........What does a Scotsman were under his kilt ?
Pauline,
Yep ! I wear a Sgian Dubh.......(Black Knife) My one was a special gift from some guys that I knew. Silver Blade and mountings topped with a semi precious Cairngorm Gem. Lovely. A treasure to keep.
Back later......all going well.

I'm sure we can rely on Maddie to make everything go smoothly while we're in London next week.
Short skirts are a no-no for me Stephen, my thread veins look like the kids have been scribbling on my legs with a Biro. But YOU have to wear your kilt of course. Do you keep one of those daggers (Sgian-Dubh) down your sock? I didn't actually know what it was called........... I've just googled it!
Mo, would you be able to do what Rita suggested and have a blessing in your own church after they get back from Scotland?
It was mad hot here yesterday and it looks like it's going to be the same today. My son didn't go to the day centre today because he's not well and I don't want him passing germs on to other people.......... he's just passed them on to me instead.

Morning everyone Well it is lovely again this morning. Have already been for a walk round the lake with son's dog who is here for a couple of days. Lovely meal again last night, Thai with 2 girlfriends to celebrate 2 birthdays. The other lady has her birthday next month. Managed to get teak oil onto the garden table and garden bench yesterday. It will soak in with the lovely sunshine. Well off to do the same as Rita now. Toast and pills, such is life.
Have a good day everyone. Like the idea of us all in kilts for the wedding Stephen, so long as it isn't too warm on the day.

Morning All !
Rita, Getting 'old'. Another way to look at it is that you are full of wisdom gained over the years. Nothing to beat the University of Life.
Maddie, we will be calling on your knowledge of the London environs to guide us through the throngs of people. Can't have the Friendly Crew caught up in crowds can we.
Do we bring our Kazoos (?) with us for music ?
Is it short skirts (kilt) and Baton Twirling ?
Misty here this morning but sure to clear away to another fine day.
Have a good day ya all !

Morning Maddie and everyone else who joins us later. I think we are going to have a hot day here although thi morning we have a couple of big clouds overhead.
I have been in Buckingham Palace twice not as nice as I expected it too be. we walked around the gardens as well. The White Room and the Music rooms were the best. I think they need to get some of their chairs recovered. lol
The Queen comes up to the rooms on a private lift hidden in the cormner of the rooms. I was not keen on the Dutch Paintings they have, they are very dark.
I am just going to have some toast and a cup of tea, then I can take my tablets. Oh th joys of getting old.

Mo If your not able to afford the trip to Scotland for the Christening then tell them that is why. it is a lot of money for a couple of days. I think in your place I would tell them sorry but many cannot go due to their commitments and arrange a blessing in your church for the nearest possible time. ot ask you vicar if he will do a proxi service for the christening so you will all be able to enjoy it. and hold a little party when they get back. It is their making not yours.is a shame but it is one of those things.that happen. Family we always get problems ....
Linda I was going to ask you does your radios stations also include Three counties Beds/Bucks and Herts ? I ask . as I know Wally Webb appears to be on those on Easter Monday and Tuesday and Thursday and Bank Holiday Friday I knew Wally when I lived in Norfolk he was mad on county music and we use to all go out in a crowd together, he once asked me to talk on the radio with him about The Carpenters group one Sunday Morning which I did . he was also mad on Football. he gave me a photo of his-self when I left Norfolk also knew Richard Spendlove not as well as Wally Webb. but we had met a couple of times when I went to the Hoteliers dances.and parties I wondered if you knew the stations they are on so I could try and get their programmes. I would love to hear their voices again. Yvonne I hope to see another Doctor tomorrow as I am very giddy and have to walk carefully.using a stick. you know I told you about the Milk. someone rang my door phone and I opened it for them only to find the guy who had the milk standing there. he said thank you so much for giving us the milk I was dying for a cup of tea. I told him he was welcome if he needed milk to let me know. he gave me £2 coins I said whats this for ? he said for the milk I said I dont want your money. I am glad I could help, he insisted and put it down on my book case. I thoght that was kind of him but tomorrow if they are around I will make them a mug of tea and give them some biscuts because the Estate Manager appears not to.

Good afternoon everyone. Well it looks like we will not be going to the christening after all. I must say I am very dissappointed, but feel I can't go without Roly. Finances will not allow for us to go by train, and we would have had to have booked a B+B as well, as it would not be fair to turn S's grandparents out of their own bed, to accomodate us. I will arrange a lovely tea party for the family, when they get back from Scotland. And I am going to leave it to Roly, to explain to our son, our reasons for not going, as it's because of him we are not going.
Maddie, can you book me a room for the royal wedding please. The Dorch sounds lovely, and we must have the best, as we deserve that much. I am just wondering if I can alter my Easter Bonnet for the occasion, If I take the Bunnies and Chicks off, and add some flowers it may look grand. The Eggs will have been eaten by then anyway, so that saves them melting and running down my chin. I will pop into the charity shop to buy meself a dress. LOL If I can't find anything I like, I will have to go to the bigger towns to find an outfit.

Afternoon everyone
another sunny day
Rita what a cheek, the doctor should have done more to help you, you may be old ( and I mean that in the nicest possible way) but you shouldn't have to put up with the pain and discomfort.
A doctor said that to my OH when he went to see him awhile ago about constent back pain, he told my OH what do you expect at your age, He's only 53 lol.
count me in for The Wedding, I love a good knees up!
Right off to the shops to get a new outfit...... x

I have been and had my warfarin blood done, I have not had it read for 6 weeks and it spurted she said you must sit in the wating room for five minutes or until it is safe for you to go. so I did.
I have asked for an appointment to see another doctor Liz said your very white Rita are you Ok ? what a question to ask me. ? no I have pains in my neck and under my jaw feel tender and swollen also my ears are hurting inside. she offered me a vacant spot with the doctor who said your old what do you expect. well words to that effect.
so I have to phone tomorrow and see if she can get me in.with the other doctor . when I got in I found two messages from the fire service they had phoned well l this old lady was out. so I had to phone back and leave them a message. to see if they can do my fire Alarm for me.
Then my estate manager rang the bell to ask to borrow some milk (she dose not drink coffee or tea with milk in). so I poured her half a beaker out. she said thanks the workman need it for their teas they have not got time to pop across the road and buy some she borrows but I have never had any back.not that I mind but when you borrow something you normally offer to replace what you have borrowed.
charming.

Jean I am gpoing to see if I can get anywhere at the surgery this morning and ask for an appointment with another Doctor. one who know s me well. as I am still getting giddy attacks that is why I dont think it is Tinnius last night I had pains in my neck and my ears hurt. so woe is need a few prayers.
