Hi everyone

had a great time at the meet, it was lovely seeing people, it was great to meet Mo and Maddie in the flesh

Maddie was still drinking when I left Mo, I left about 5, took ages to get to Kings x on the bus, traffic was bad. Got home at 7.

Cath, it's a shame we can't get to see you, Maddie took lots of photos

Dermot, your story of the snakes was funny.

I know that Maddie and Yvonne were taking pics, and Garden Pest (Karen)is going to forward the pics she took of us all as well, so you wont be short of photo's.

Cath when theres another local meet over here, you will have to come over and stay with one of us. You know you will be welcome.
It would be great if we could all meet up sometime.

Gooood evening everyone. What a great time we had today. I hope Maddie was o.k after I left, as the vino was going down a treat.
You would all love her to bits, she's a proper giggler.
And it was great to meet our Yvonne, she's a smashing lady, and quiet as a mouse till you get her chatting.
We had real laugh today, and the weather was so kind to us.
I have a confession to make, I forgot my camera, but plenty of pics were taken by the others.
We met the wonderful Foggy, oh boy he is such a gentleman, and truly does look like an older version of Adam Faith. We also met Johnny Blue Eyes, unfortunately his eyes are not quite as blue as they were once upon a time bless him.
Whilst we were there, the waitress came to let us know, that our Jeniwren
had rung and wished us all a lovely time. How lovely is that.
I got home at about 5.30, and had to feed Roly's hungry belly, mind you mine was grumbling as well.

I hope Maddie and Yvonne got home safetly.

Dermot,
I liked your story about the snakes.I find it quite amusing the thought of a snake going shopping!
Even thought Ireland beat England in the Rugby- we're still the better team!

Dermot Report 19 Mar 2011 18:34

Slithering Snakes.

This mother snake had three baby snakes living in a pit. She wanted to go out shopping one day & she didn’t want to take the baby snakes with her to the shops. So, she asked them if they wouldn’t mind hissing around their pit until she returned home.

Yes, hissing around the pit - well, they are snakes; snakes do hiss & they live in a pit. They agreed. She said if she were late returning from the shops, they were to go over to Mrs Pots’ pit & hiss there to await the mother’s arrival.

Mrs Pots was a neighbouring snake widow with no baby snakes of her own. So, they said fair enough. This is what we will do like you said: “We’ll hiss around our pit till you get home & if you are late, we will go over to Mrs Pots’ pit & hiss there till you turn up”.

So, she went off to the shops & the baby snakes hissed around their own pit. And right enough, the mother snake was late home. So, the baby snakes decided to stop hissing around their own pit & went over to
Mrs Pots’ pit to hiss, as instructed.

Now, they were hissing around Mrs Potts pit for a long time when
Mrs Pots came out of her pit & let out a fierce roar. She frightened the baby snakes & they were upset. She scolded them for the noise they made. “You cannot hiss around here. Go back to your own pit & hiss there“.

So, they stopped hissing around Mrs Pots’ pit & went back home to hiss around their own pit again. There they were hissing & crying at the same time when their mother snake arrived home. And she asked them why they were crying & they told her the full story.

The mother snake was enraged. “Mrs Pots has a nerve - she really has a bloody nerve. I remember Mrs Pots when she didn’t even have a pit to hiss in herself”.
-----------------------------------------

The snake slithers around
sneaky not a sound.

Creeps upon his prey
attacks then & runs away.

He might be pretty look at
outside he's a snake, inside he's a rat.

Beware of him, he bites
and does it within his rights.

The snake will smother
even kill his own mother.

Snakes are full of greed
upon your soul he will feed.

The snake is a self-adoring creature
humility is not a feature.

Snakes are everywhere
so beware.

Hi Marilyn

I feel sorry for myself I am not use to being so down and feeling ill I took myself off to Town today did a walk about thought it would do me good to get out it was packed I thought I would go and get my hair shampooed and cut and blow dried but there were 12 people in front of me and there were only two girls working so I came home. I will try and get there in the week when it is not so busy. I have a young Italian hair i dresser and she was away today.
It has been a lovely day I am wondering how the Meet went off. I am pleased it stayed nice for them. but there were alot of probl;ems on the underground trains but hopefully they missed that.

Happy Birthday for tomorrow Jean. hope your day goes well.
Love Rita

Morning all, it's very frosty , the gritters were out last night. Looks like it's going to be sunny again though - so might be a nice day.

Hope it's a good meet for everyone who goes today, looking forward to the photos we get from you. The rest of us will just have to get the gossip second hand. Pity we couldn't all make it to a meet.

Stephen, how can you put the word 'snow' into the same sentence as the words 'glorious day'?

Morning to everyone,
Hope those of you going to the meet have a great time, wish I could go too and meet you all.
Dermot, no wonder you are so proud of your niece, I bet not many get into the Oval office to interview the President.
Rita and Jean hope today is a better one for you both.
Mo I am happy to get splinters from your tree instead of mine, lol. Quiz night was fun.

Hope everyone has a nice day tomorrow and especially those at the meet.

Wrap up warm as Hubby said it is -3C this evening when he left Heathrow !!! Luckily he didn't have to scrape his screen.

I did a pile more ironing. And finished the cardigan just needs a button and the jumper as I had spare wool now.

Sleep well, hope you feel better tomorrow Rita and Jean
