I've been to Scotland. I went to Fort William. I went on a coach hoilday. I didn't realise how far up it was! I went in September so no snow!

Patricia,

For some strange reason a number of people thought I was the right person to portray the 'Ideal Young Scot'

I was followed through my daily life, leisure time, my education, what I did for the community etc etc.

It was a grand experience. And being so well paid for it. Magic.

You would love to live in Scotland. Come and try it some time.

A chance to meet Fluffy Paws !

Marilyn, I'm afarid thats not the right Matthias Flaherty. He's my great great grandfather,and his daughter Mary Martha was born in 1869, somewhere at sea,or Ceylon. It's all very vague, as I don't even know my G,G Grandmothers name.

I think Cath is on the right track,in assuming he was Irish. This is what my mum always told me, but I have absolutely no proof.

One week to go Yvonne,and we will be meeting. A bit like the three musketeers,or the three amigo's.
It's such a shame that everyone else are unable to come. And I know Marilyn would have loved to have been there.
Mind you, she could always catch a flight home, stay for a couple of days and then return to the U.S for the rest of her holiday, Unfair, thats what I call it, letting us down like that.

Pat, I can recall it having snowed at easter, since 1966. I am not sure of the year now, but I know it happened. Well at least I think I do. Unless I dreamed it, and that would not surprise me. lol

Afternoon all

very nice this morning in the sunshine but it's clouding over now.

Went to the pub last night for friend's 40th but was only drinking cola cos I was driving.

Looking forward to next weekend. Blimey I'll have been out 3 weeks in a row, unheard of! lol

Was watching the news yesterday about Japan quake, I couldn't believe that tidal wave, it was taking over everything, frightening.

Patricia,

1966.......Big Head me was on TV for the first time and paid at £1.00 per MINUTE.. I remember it very distinctly. That was a fortune to me then. (and still is)

We often get a heavy snowfall in and around April. As much as a foot or more. It's the way the airflow changes as we near summer. Cold air dropping down from the Arctic meets the warm moist air from the South and Hey presto, Snow

PatriciaAnn Report 12 Mar 2011 10:14

Morning everyoe,
It's not too bad down South.
Stephen I can remember it snowed Easter 1966!
I'm going to read some more of War and Peace and then it's off to the Launderette!

Morning all,
Frothy coffee please Maddie.
Mo I hope you find Matthias Flaherty (sounds Irish) soon. I sometimes get so exasperated with searching out elusive ancestors that I question my own sanity, but then you find one and makes it all worthwhile.
Marilyn hope your neighbour is doing ok.

~~~~~ to everyone, enjoy your day.
Morning everyone, hope you enjoyed a peacedul night.
Thank you for breakfast Maddie.
Stephen, hope you will be able to get out if you need to,
I can remember having snow at Easter. hope it clears soon.
Just watching the news about Japan, such a terrible sight, all those people missing and dead. Nature can be so cruel at times.
Hope you all have a good weekend.
Go with God and in good health.
I'm Dreaming of a White Easter
Thanks for the breakfast Maddie. They way to a mans heart is through is breastbone.
Yep ! More snow and it's decided to stay a while by the looks of it. The conditions are certainly right for a longer stay.
Hey Ho Shovel the snow.
Seems only yesterday I was near sleeping with the shovel in my hand..
Last week I was cooking outside in the forest, lovely day, this week I could build an Igloo. Isn't our weather so predictable !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rita.............How are you ?
And all the others that are not 100% just now , how are you too ?
Will be back later, hopefully.
Well done Cath, no wonder you are so chuffed finding the elusive couple.
I was searching earlier for my great great grandmothers parents, without success.
You would not believe how hard it's been for me to find who Matthias Flaherty married,and where and when.
Oh well back to the drawing board another day.
Thank goodness you and Pete were around to help your neighbour Marilyn. I hope he will be o.k.
Popping in to say a quick hello.
Had a good day ancestor wise, lots of help from GR boards. Great stuff.
Im really chuffed as been looking for this couple for over a year and basically had nothing. Now I know they both went under middle names (no wonder I couldn't find them) and he was born in India not Ireland!!! Have dates of death for both and cemetery and grave numbers. Just had to share my exitement, lol.
Sweet dreams to you all.
Hi All,
Well I suppose you are all wondering where I have been ??
I have been to the hospital here as my neighbour was taken ill yesterday.
He has a bad heart and felt unwell so we took him to the hospital .
He's being monitored, and is stable ...we have had to comfort his wife and stay with her most of yesterday and today....
He's in the right place and going to take his wife to see him in the morning.
Back for something to eat ...starving hungry
Back with news tomorrow...
