Morning all Little M is staying with her daddy this morning and Mum will get a Drs appointment for this afternoon. She has a very high temperature and possibly it has gone to her throat again.
So off to do some shopping this morning and then for Tony to choose glasses frames at lunchtime, before he goes to work.
It seems warmer out this morning no frost on the cars, but I believe the forecast is for rain.
Have a good day
Linda :o) XxX
PS Marilyn good luck at the dentist and then opticians

Morning All,
Marilyn......are you gonna have two baths as well. ROFL
No Breakfast......Cooker is on the blink. I'M the Cooker.
Day off today.....but guess what......will be busier than ever. Phone call at 10.30pm last night. A niece shouting for HELP ! I'm the 'Help'.
Checked in the cupboards and fridge. You can have some Irn-Bru, Cheese and Tomatoes, Lettuce, Cucumber, Branston Pickle, Morning Rolls, Butter. and other such things for Breakfast. Cold beans if you wish.
OOOpppps ! And some Crispbread for those on a diet.
Dark and miserable here. Strong wind making it feel cold although the temperature is up at 6C.
Time to get the tools organised and ready for the off.
Keep well. Keep safe. Keep smiling.

Jeniwren, you did write it clearly, I understood that you were saying your great gran birthed (delivered) you. My grandmother delivered me, she delivered all of her grandchildren, we called it 'brought into the world', you called it 'birthed'. My grandmother came from an Irish Catholic family and she was very similar to the way you describe your great gran. She brought loads of babies into the world and she saw all the old people 'out of the world'........... in other words, she 'layed them out'.
We'd like to hear more about your days with your dad and great gran, when you were on the road.

Hello, all horses are settled for the night. Rita, the foals are growing very quickly and are doing fine. when I travelled with my Dad and Great Grandmother I was washed every night standing in a large enamel bowl and was sponged down with soap and hot water, usually outside the vardo unless it was raining, then it was inside. Have just realised I didn't write very clearly before, it was my Gt Gran who lived to be 103 not my birth mother. I was given to my birth father by my birth mother because she was leaving the family group to marry and couldn't take a baby with her, my father was married to my non romany mother, so in a way I was lucky, I was born Romany and enjoyed their life but also grew up with a house dweller, so experienced both sides of life. I never knew any of my family to ever be ill, they were all very healthy, when they were on the roads their main meal was in the evening, stew with lots of veg, not much meat. as children we ate whatever was put in front of us, we didn't have a choice. My Dad died in December last year, 2 days after his 98th birthday.
Dermot, those thatched cottages are beautiful, you must have lots of happy memories of life in Ireland.
Well I'm off to bed now, been a long day. Hope you all enjoy a peaceful night. Love to you all. Jeniwren xx

jean we didnt have alot of material things either but I think if you have alot of love and cuddles in your life it makes up for the material things.. I was going through some old diaries sorting out another drawer and reading bits in them, things I had forgottten about. I lost my mum in August 1978 she died of breast cancer she was looked after by Nuns in Westminster. she was 68 when I see now what they can do when you have that she would have had a chance and I realised she never had a bathroom in the house only a bath that hung on the wall in the yard, when I think of what i have and what she had I feel upset..

Kevins' Nanna was 102 when she died in Sunderland. She had been moved into sheltered housing, but she was as sharp as a tack.
She had her telegram from Queenie and everything.
She was a bonny lass.

I'd get on the bus to Camden Town, into Regents Park Zoo, and round up a few.
Whilst in the Ark, they would be attended to by two young people that I know.
You dont really expect me to muck up my manicure do you?
Marilyn, hope they dont remove all your teeth bar one.
We will have to call you Juanita.

Good evening everyone.
Really pleased for Jean and Rita. See the power of Prayer works.
Oh how much longer is gonna be COLD. Apparently only a couple more in London. Then the torrential rain will come.
Note to self. Go to Wickes, buy wood, pitch and nails. Make that Ark soon. lol
Really liking the stories from Dermot, and now the ones from Jean. How fascinating.
Hope everyone is well and warm.
See ya later.

Hi all, hope you are all well. Rita, that's such good news about Mike, you must be very relieved. Linda, sorry Little M is poorly, it makes you feel so helpless when they are poorly doesn't it, hope she is soon better. Have been reading my Great Grandmothers diary...again...don't know how many times I have read it, but each time I find something new, it isn't easy to read as her writing looks like a spider crawled over the pages, but I suppose as she lived to be 103 I'm lucky she was able to write things down. She birthed me, [sorry, meant delivered me, I still lapse into Romany sometimes] and named me Jeniwren, but my non-romany Mum called me Jean, but I do use my romany name more than Jean. she was my Dad's Grandmother and was a very important part of my life. I spent a lot of time with her until my Mum decided she wanted me to go to school, so my Dad bought a farm and put down roots, although he still went on the roads for weeks at a time, when it was school holidays I went with him, which I loved. I had a wonderful childhood, not very much in the way of material things but was very happy and knew I was loved.
Just going to check the horses, be back later. Go with God and in good health. Jeniwren xx
