Rita you've met a lot of famous people. Am I right in thinking that Adam Faith was quite short. About 5 ft 5" Torquay must be kickking themselves because Crawley who beat them have been drawn against Man Utd at Old Trafford. I don't do walks Stephen. Too cold! I'm a couch potato at heart. Just been speaking to my sister and she and her husband went for a walk near where they live. She put a photo on Facebook and the ground looks really frosty. Pauline I like of picture of the flower. Very good. You don't live in cloud cuckoo land Stephen. I can't remember the name of the maigical place you sometimes talk about! I did have Irish God parents but as far as I know I'm pure English. Dermot the theft of the church bit is inspiring!

Dermot I didnt take , it must be someone with long legs.
I have just had an email from my Nephew from Arlington where he lives in USA. He was telling me last wednesday they had a terrible storm ran and snow the snow was so wet it was hard to drive in it . so many people left their cars and walked home. He said the Newspapers called it a "Thundersnow " as it was a big electric storm I told him keep it that side of the pond we dont need that,.

Amongst the church announcements today, our priest reminded us of his appeal for the church spire.
It still hasn't been returned.

well I am a lot older than all of you and I have a long list of people I have met famous well it depends on who you call famous.?
I have met Bill Kitchen, Tommy Price, Split Waterman, Bronco Wilson all speedway riders . went out with one of them.
I met Alex Jackson Football.
I went into the bar at Wembley Stadium and met Little Richard. and Joe Brown anyone remember them.?
My husband and I was given tickets to see the Harlem Globe trotters This is the orignal team afterwards they invite us to go to the bar and have a drink with them there was a very tall one not sure of his name ? but the other three Gary March. .Phil Daniels and Alan Burgess. all these I have their autographs still, there were many more.
Later on I met Adam Faith at a party. with Jack Panel the band leader. I went out with one of his trumpet players. Meryvn .
I also met Clift Richard and some of his group, they praticed in the house next door to my friend in Willesden
I also met Prince Charles when I was living in Norfolk met him twice. and Princess Anne when she opened The Save the childrens shop in Kings street Norfolk., I met Jim Davidson,
My sister use to say who did you meet tonight.?
I have also been at bank twice when they were raided. one in Willesden Green I was just getting my Dads book out of my pram and saw two men with guns standing on the counter so ran and told the manager of Smiths the paper shop he pulled me and my little pram with my son in side and bolted the door r he phoned the police station. The new paper reporter came to see me.. The next time I was taking money into the bank in church road and a guy rushed out with a bag of money knocked me over. I watched him run into the church while I sat on the ground. and told the police when they came they caught him.
all this is in my Autobiography. so you see I have had quiet a life.

Rita - I don't remember seeing you in Cricklewood's Galtymore Dance Hall.
I remember being taken to a dance once by a neighbour's daughter. I was only about 10 or 11 at the time - more's the pity!!

Dermot you could have shorten that to the luck of the irish..
I came from an area full of Irish imigrants Cricklewood and Willesden all the pubs were irish and after mass on a sunday the Irish use to go straight to the pub and have a good time including the Priest. I lived a few door up from the KELLY family now theres a good old Irish Name they had Bridget Biddie Jimmie and Patrick along with Peter and a Shona. I went to the cinema with Patrick when I was 12 years old and Jimmy took me to an Irish dance,

Never mind Pat, I don't know anybody famous either, so that's 2 of us.
I like the middle 2 lines of that as well Dermot, the other 2 lines aren't applicable to me.

Oh well I've never met anyone famous! I can't think who I'd really want to meet and to be quite honest I can't think of a famous person who'd be interested in what I was up to. Most of the people I come across in my life aren't so why shoud they be. I haven't got any chldren or a partner to talk about. Dermot I like your Irish blessing especially the second and third line. I'm going to have a glass of creme liquor and watch the football.

An Irish Blessing.
May you have many children. May they all grow & mature in taste, health & colour & be sought after as much as the Irish whiskey in this glass.
May you have warm words in a cold evening; a full moon on a dark night & the road down hill all the way to your door.
May every hair on your head turn into a candle to light your way to Heaven. May your God take the harm of the years away from you.
May you have no frost on your spuds; no worms on your cabbage. May your cow give plenty of milk and, if you inherit a donkey, may she be with-foal.
Amen.

Hi everyone
a bit overcast and cold here
thanks for the jokes and emails Marilyn and Pauline, I had quite a few emails to open, had a couple from Ancestry about renewing my membership, I get 20% off if I renew before tomorrow
I met Princess Alice a few years ago when I was in the St John Ambulance, I was on duty at a charity function and she was the guest of honour. I was introduced to her along with the staff who served dinner.

You've spent time with the Queen Stephen. Very high company! I've seen the Queen a couple of times when she came to Exeter. Most people have an interesting story to tell one way or another. i hope it's warmer where you are Stephen. It's cold down this way!
