Pauline I was given a watch for my brithday when I was 16 years old. not gold or silver my parents were poor and I dont know how they could spend money on me like that. ? my sister and I never went without food or clothes, but now in my old age I realise what a struggle it must have been for them bless them. They were wonderful parents we may not have had money but we had plenty of love,

My son was surprised to see how excited Rebecca was.it isnt like her.
she hopes to go on to university and that will be Southampton .

I am surprised to hear you say that about suncream Marilyn all the Doctors recomend it and babies especially I have seen some terrible burns on young children playing on the sand in the hot sun and nothing on their bodies or heads to keep the sun off.
I cannot sit in the sun although I have dark hair my skin is fair and I burn quickly so I wear a light cardigan and sun hat. but I also rub cream in my face and neck. but I use the same cream all year round "Astral. "
I hope they get the boiler fixed quickly there is talk of more cold weather and snow the way .

Mike has his operation tomorrow he goes in at 7.30 but they have not told him what time he goes to the threatre , I said it should be before 12 o'clock if he goes in at 7.30. He is getting nervous now.
I told him if the masses and candles lit for him is anything to go by he will have no trouble.
I have just emailed him a few minutes ago.

Rita.

That's a strange thing to say about suncream Marilyn, I hadn't thought about it that way before. I think all the chemicals that's sprayed on crops has a lot to answer for. Plus all the preservative in our food.

I hope your sister gets her boiler sorted out, I think it's an unwritten law that they have to break down in the winter.

Rita, that was one big surprise for your granddaughter, she won't forget that birthday in a hurry. My sister did the same thing for her daughter's 18th birthday and her son's 17th birthday. Kids today are very fortunate aren't they? I got a portable radio for my 18th birthday, I didn't jump up and down but I was pleased with it.

Linda, I think I'll just stick to buying a card, less mess!!

Edit: I'm off out now, catch you all later.

Morning all,
Well things changed yesterday in my household, I had a frantic phone call from sister .....her boiler packed up ,so we had start ringing around for help !!
Now I have told her that she has to start paying for insurance to cover cost of repairing her boiler which is now going to cost £300 to repair . Anyway as its winter and EVERYBODY has the boiler men out repairing, no luck in getting anyone yesterday.

So Her and hubby came for their showers and I cooked them dinner and they stayed until bed time . they could have stayed the night but wanted to go home to see if any one rang on the answer machine for a call out I bet they rang at least 10 boiler men !!

So that's why I couldn't come on yesterday.

Rita hows Mike ?

Maddie...... Pete had a legion on his forehead 5yrs ago that was cancerous and had it cut out and the consultant made a nice clean scar . he has to wear a hat always when he's in the sun. But I have reservations about Suncream 's I think there are more chemicals in them that causes cancer, so I NEVER use suncream 's ever, just sit in warm sun sensibly or shaded area's.

Off for my bath......Hello to all thats up !!

Now the surprised for Rebecca's birthday,
they brought her two books she wanted and gave her a voucher for driving lesson and got her a driving license she didnt expext the driving licence or the vouchers for the lessons.

Her mother went and picked her up from College with two of her friends, just before they turned into their close blind folded her. guessed now ?
In front of the house stood a bright red car, with a balloon on each side one saying ONE the other SEVEN and a big pink bow on the bonnet.
when she got out of the car they took the blind fold off and she screamed and jumped up and down she kept saying I have a car. my son said she got in it and started it up. she kept going out and looking at it. this morning she was sitting in it when he left for work. he said she is always a job to get up in the morning she didnt today.
They have a drive in and out in their front garden it is quiet big.
She told her Dad I didnt expext this ? he said you would not have had it if an endowment had not come out.

she will have her driving lesson then her Mum and Dad will take her out.

Morning everyone I had a funny old day yesterday, felt tired all day even dropped off to sleep for an hour yesterday afternoon while reading.

Mo I have AVG a free anti virus protection on my computer I always had Norton till they put the pirce up higer.

Maddie I have been to Paris three times the last time was four years ago
It gets so hot there, I suppose because the building are so high. about 5 years ago might be a little longer ? Sheila and I went and it was a heat wave.many people died it was on the news and in the papers most were elderly or people who lived in the top flats and they made for the parks as that was the only place you got the breeze and shade. we spent ages in the parks sitting on the parks benches.
We went with a nun on the religious procession from the Notre Dam they chant Ava maria and sing . The nuns from across France and Germany attend they carry the Staute of The Blessed Virgin Mary, I took photo's of it.
it was that year we had the heat wave.we sat with one of the Nuns and had a packed lunch.

Morning all
Same weather as Maddie
Don't think I will be going walking today with Little M Ughhhhh

The Crafts I did for Chinese New Year were Bookmarks, Fridge Magnets and stencilling to make pictures. I have a poster with the animals for the years too. There is quite a lot on line too. But I have bought things from a childrens craft catalogue for many years now. I have enough to see Little through and some, as hubby would say !!!

Better results for Hubby Maddie, glad it can be dealt with. I too have to wear a hat in the sun, poor scalp is very exposed now and I don't fancy sun cream in my hair.

Have a good day all

Linda :o) XxX

Linda, I hope your son's friend does something good with the photos. What are you making for Chinese New Year? Do you have any Chinese friends? One of my closest friends is Chinese, so is my next door neighbour.

Jean don't overdo it, you've just recovered from an illness............ as well as fighting off cancer.

I'm sitting here talking to myself because none of you are up yet.

Stephen will be up but he can't talk to me.

Oh dear, looks like our Stephen still hasn't got things sorted. Stephen just send a postal order for now and get your card sorted out later. We can't have you missing all this time............... GET BACK HERE.

Dermot, hope we get the next part today, keep it coming.

Hope Shelly's kids didn't burn the house down yesterday when they made their own meals.

What happened to Marilyn last night, where did she go?

Cath, I like that little rule as well, not much point me saying it though, we'd all starve if I didn't cook.

Pat, if I was living on my own, I probably wouldn't cook at all, I'd eat out during the day and just have a snack at night........... the opposite to what I do now.

Maddie, you must have been worried sick........ literally. I'm so pleased that Kevin is going to be alright now, such a relief for you. It's frightening how these things can turn your life upside down in such a short space of time.

I'm pretty sure that going to Sunderland wasn't the trigger for the pre-cancerous cells, more likely to have triggered frost bite.

Mo, how did a virus get past your anti-virus? Maybe it was in disguise! Hope you get it sorted.

Rita, what was the surprise?

Thanks for confirming that I WAS throwing a tantrum Cath, lol.

I think this years holiday was the 'trigger' for the change in Kevins' skin.

He used to go fishing for years, and sat for hours without an umbrella, silly beggar.

I had a basal thingy a few years ago on my nose, it was cut out with an 'apple corer' and then stitched. I could see the stitches out of the corner of my eye all the time. They were blue. Someone had a sense of humour.

Beddy bo boes now.

God Bless.

Maddie we dont mind your tantrums. we're your friends.
I had a basal cell carcinoma removed from my back several years ago after being told by one GP that it was isolated psoriasis! When it was still there and no better 2 years later I saw a different GP who sent me to a dermatologist the following day and it was removed 3 days later.
Hope Kevin recovers quickly and always wears a hat.
Take care,

Cath xx

Good Evening All.

Calmed meself down a bit now, enough to be lucid. lol

Right here's the SP. Kevin and I went on 3 holidays last year, nothing very special, just Family Hunting in Sunderland, Anniversary Holiday to Paris, and then a week on the IOW.

He used the same SP factor as me, but his forehead was irritated.

Anyway, these lesions appears in about September. They didnt heal.
So he made an appointment to see the doctor, who in turn referred him to the Dematologist a few days ago.

Anyway the upstart of it is ....................... if he had left it, it would have been a bit naughty. He has pre-cancerous cells on his forehead. Luckily he can be zapped with liquid nitrogen, and regular intervals, and that will kill it dead.

So ............................... now we can both sleep properly, I can eat, and not keep running to the loo every five minutes.

We are both relieved. BUT if he goes into the sun he will have to wear a hat. So that is the general situation.

I dunno I bore for Britain with my cough, then bore you still, with me tantrums.

Hope everyone is well and warm.

Maddie

Thanks to you for your kind words.
