Hello, just got back on and I think Lady has beaten me to it.

My husband used to breed canaries. He used to breed Border canaries. There are buff [white tipped feathers] clear yellow [self explanatory] white [jonquil] and variegated [brown] You will need to keep breeding to get a 'yellow' canary. You will need yours with a buff, or yellow, to try and 'drain out' the brown feathers. It will probably take a few years. so simply, if your is brown now, it will remain brown. Like flamingos and shrimps, if you want your canary to show red feathers, you will have to buy a specific seed from a seed merchant.

Hello Marilyn, no I was not rich. Mum was determined I had 'nice' feet and had me measured every time. I had the biggest, hardest shoes she could find from Clarks or Startrite. Pity some 10 years later I wore the most unsuitable shoes and ruined all her hard work.

Pleased to see Jean is feeling better to.

Hope everyone else is well and warm.

Nighty night
Maddie

I had canaries & had brown ones & yellow ones
This may help

Canaries come in assorted breeds, colours and markings. Common breeds are Gloster Coroner, Yorkshire, Fife, and crested. Typical markings include buff, clear yellow, white, and brown variegated.

Hello everyone, have been having trouble with computer today, takes ages to get onto any site I want, my son is going to give it a going over tomorrow.
Rita, am glad you slept well last night, I always feel better after a god sleep.
Mo, Lilly is absolutely beautiful, please give her a kiss and a cuddle from me next time you see her.
I went to the horses today, the foals have grown so much. Went for a half hour ride, it was cold but lovely to get out in the fresh air.
Marilyn, I hope you had a great holiday and have come home feeling very fit.
Sounds like some of you are planning your holidays.
think I will go make a cup of hot chocolate and go to bed.
Sweet dreams to you all.

Stuffed Heart were favourite of my Husband and my eldest son
I use to put them in water slightly salted then turn them inside out and clean then turn back and stuff with sage and onion stuffing put in tin foil and bake , we lived on cheap meats could not afford anything else. neck of Lamb and Rabbit and port strips and mince mostly our diet. later on we had legs of lamb beef etc must admit though I didn eat them

all good food.

Hi ya all.
Thank god you know about the canaries Lady, as I know nothing at all about our feathered friends.

Shelly yuk, stuffed hearts, how the eck can you eat em, the thought turns my stomach.

Cath, surely your not scared of dentists are you. If it's a male dentist he has more to be scared of than you, as one little knee in the wrong place and he would be screaming out in agony.

Hi ya Marilyn, good to see you home again. Are you going to have the tooth pulled, or can it be saved.

Hi ya Maddie, I bet you are glad to be home early for a change.

No Pauline, Stephen , or Yvonne yet tonight.

Jean hows your day been today.

Evening friends,
How is everyone?
I'm a happy (WARM) bunny!! lol.
Welcome home Marilyn and good luck at the dentist -rather you than me-.

Bit of a random question but here goes; Do any of you know at what age a canary turns yellow? Apart from a few yellow feathers on his breast my 7 month old canary is still brown.
