hi everyone, I got wet lunchtime. I was working sp hard that I didn't even notice the rain til i went to ok outside. Mo what's the betting everyone is going to mis-spell Lilly's name! Marilyn you've got a choice-dry and cold or wet and warm. I've had enough of cold! Jean I'm more or less better. Thank goodness! Dermot, celebreties can't stand being ignored.

Hello Jean,
Welcome to the land of the near insane !!!!!!
Snow has gone apart from some huge mounds that are left here and there.
We're having problems with floods in some areas. Once the melt water leaves the hills the rivers rise rapidly also the storm water drains can't cope with such a rapid thaw.
It is so mild compared with what we've been having it feels positively tropical.
Gonna have a coffee now.
Catch you all later.

Hello everyone, hope you had a good weekend. Mo, how is your new Grandaughter? when will they be home? bet you cant wait to cuddle her. I love the old names and am glad they are coming back. A young woman who lives about 5 minutes away from me has a baby boy, 6 months old, she called him Malechi [think that is how it is spelt] poor child when he starts school!! Rita, I hope you are feeling better now, it is awful when feeling unwell goes on and on isn't it. Hope all our friends who have been suffering with the flu bug are now feeling better. Stephen, hope you had a good day in the office, has all your snow gone now? Mo, not sure about being buried in a church graveyard if you are not Christened, dont know how the Vicar would know if someone was Christened, the only thing I know is you cannot be Confirmed if you are not Christened. Haven't been out today, it has been very damp and dull here.
Take care and stay safe. Jean xx

Ooooh my word I must mention Marilyn first, sorry flower how did I manage to forget you. I bet you log of before I have finished on here, and will miss my message.
I am getting impatient now, waiting for little mummy and baby to be discharged from hospital. I can't wait to see little one. I have been told she has golden glints in her hair, as mum is natural auburn ( ginger) but don't like that title, so babe is bound to have some auburn tint to her hair,as my son is blonde, she will be a touch in between. I keep checking to see if I have received my photo of her, but I bet my son has forgotten to send it to me. But I WILL get it and send it on as soon as I can. Oh by the way, I have had my wrists slapped, they are spelling her name LILLY, not as I had written LILY.
Rita, I was shocked when they chose an older name, but I don't mind. My mum was called Rosetta shortened to Rose. And my grandaughter, wants to call her baby Mary,as she loves the name. So it sure does look like the older names are doing the rounds again. You don't see many babies called Maureen these days either, but I dare say it will happen again in the future.
I hope all the workers are not overdoing things, and that Linda is not stuck up with glue from the little one.
And all our poorly soldiers, I hope you are feeling better today.
Shelly I saw your post about little legs christening. Both Roly and I were god parents at a catholic christening, both of us were baptised, but we are Cof E, so I dont know why there are so many problems. All my childern were baptised, but not all my grandchildren have been. It's a personal choice these days, where as years ago, it was unheard of for a child not to be christened. In fact, one woman I know, who is a catholic, believes you cannot be buried in a church graveyard,if you were not baptised. But how could a vicar know if you were baptised or not. It's not like you have it tattoo'd on your head is it,and you could lose the baptism certificate over the years. Apart from that, I may be wrong, but I think she's talking rubbish, but I'm sure if I am wrong, someone will clarify it for me.

Hi Pauline and Marilyn. It has stopped raining not sure how long for ? but one of our car parks is very deep water and the commercial bins are there. so no one can put their rubbish or recycled stuff in them.
I have done my washing and that is put away now I am going to do my dinner then watch The Land Girls On BBC TV. so I am taking it easy.
stayed up last night I wanted to see who stayed in Dancing on Ice ? I fell a sleep and woke up not knowing. I was so annoyed with myself.
Mo as I was saying the 30's the girls were named after flowers. in my road we had a Pansy. and a Rose ,also a Lily. and Ivy. At school we had Hyacinth. Daisy.petuna. The chosing of names seem to come around after a while. we now get Jack. William ,Charlie.. you can normaly no the rough age of a person by their name all the Rita's I know were born about the same time as me. we had three in our school two were in my class.
I hope we get to see a photo of Lily. ?

It isn't raining here, it's dry and quite mild. I don't like the rain either but it's better than snow............. we don't have any of that today either.
Have you got the photo of the baby yet Mo, can't wait to see her. It's lovely when you can go out and buy little dresses, I got a beautiful one for my cousin's first granddaughter last week............... all pink and pretty.
I don't watch those celeb' programmes either, some people will do anything for publicity.

A tea and porridge will be fine thanks.
Good Morning All.
Black and wet out there. I have done a David Copperfield and the BT Tower has disappeared.
I went past it on the bus the other day. Apparently there is a countdown to the Olympics running around the top in red letters. Only 507 days to go.
Back to the coal face.
Keep well and warm.

Patricia,
I NEVER watch them it's just that Mrs Stephen has the telly on in the same room and I can't help but hear them and obviously 'see' some of what is going on. Total junk as far I'm concerned. But it is entertainment of a sort and some folk will enjoy them. Gotta come and go a bit I suppose.
