Marilyn, I think everyone knew you meant Cath when you put Christine.

Cath, you've settled in here just fine, you're a fully fledged member now.

Mo, Brent can't talk, so he can't ask for anything ............he just expects to get everything.

We had loads of snow this morning, hubby had to walk to the butchers to get the beef we'd ordered. He was freezing when he got back. Luckily we haven't had any more the rest of the day, so my niece and her kids were able to get here.

Marilyn
Hubby does in fact have to go to work tomorrow !!! He is hoping to do a shorter shift........ but that depends upon the backlog being cleared.Of course there are countries and places that do not celebrate Christmas.

The valleting was down to SIL going on his Christmas celebrations !!! Our youngest came round to do a claen up job......... so as Mum was already not 100% Dad chipped in and helped.

I have our gammon on cooking now so hubby can have some for his lunch before he goes to work tomorrow as I will be eating at the relations tomorrow. A first for me as we have had Christmas at home for many years now and I have always done all the preparation. Hubby is very good at cooking and enjoys it too.

Have a lovely evening everyone

Linda :o) XxX

PS Stephen hubby might well be using a mallet on some of the aircraft but I sure hope he isn't getting hammered eh?

We don't have turkey, not keen on it, I've cooked pork and lamb today and I'll cook beef tomorrow. God knows why I do all that because there'll only be the 3 of us. We've had different members of my family this week and we'll have different members of hubby's family next week, but Christmas Day is just for us.

A very Merry Christmas Cath, enjoy yourself.
It's relief that shops are shut now isn't it, what we haven't got, we will make do without now.
You are most welcome on our lovely little friendly thread.
Have a great day tomorrow, and see you over the holiday period,as no doubt most of us will be popping in.
Love Mo xxx

Good evening friends,
well thats it now!! If I've forgotten to post a card or buy a present its too late so I can finally relax and stop worrying. Veg all prepared, stuffing made, gammon boiled, covered in orange slices and cloves and drizzled with honey ready to shove in oven first thing. OH will get up at 5.30 and put turkey in for me. Time for a little drink methinks.
Will raise a glass to all my lovely friends on here, (can't believe I've only been part of this thread for 2 weeks), seems like a lot longer and I mean that in the nicest sense.
Hope you all have a lovely day tomorrow, I might not get a free minute till quite late but will try and pop on,

Merry Christmas to all,

Cath xx

My niece and her 2 girls have just left. The youngest one is always with her horses, my niece said she practically had to drag her off the horse to bring her here. I had to give her some clothes to change into because she was smelly, I don't like the smell of horses.

Rita, Linda and Maddie, hope you all feel a little bit better by tomorrow. So many people have those flu symptoms at the moment.

Rita and Jean, I hate to think of you on your own on Christmas day, such a pity your family don't live closer to you. Mind you, if your weather is anything like ours it would be dangerous to travel even short journeys.

I'll join in and say Merry Christmas to you all ...Marilyn, Shelly, Mo, Linda, Rita, Sue, Lady, Yvonne, Maddie, Jean, Stephen, Dermot, Pat, Cath, Liz (Mo said we had 15 people on the thread now, so I've put 15 names on ............but it would be 16 with me).

Jean,

You and Yvonne should get together with all your horses and all of us could have Gymkhana or a Cross Country Event.

Linda, I keep looking at the washing in the machine, and thinking to myself
that I really should do it tonight, but with not using the tumble dryer it will be hanging around tomorrow, and I don't want that, so it looks like I will have to do it on Boxing day. I know it's supposed to be a day of rest then, but needs must.

Even though your OH is back at work tomorrow, I hope you will have company. I seem to remember your saying that you have got your F.I.L with you.

Thank you Mo

I love the fact that your son didn't recognise a yule log............. maybe he was looking for something in wood?

I hope you have a good day with your family.

I have done a huge pile of ironing, hubby promised to do it but ended up valleting the car!!!

Well I shall relax this evening

Oh Oh Rita, it looks like Stephen has been sniffing the barmaids apron, and is a little squiffy.

Linda I do hope you feel better by tomorrow. There seems to be an epidemic sweeping the country, with the flu like symptoms knocking people for six.
Thats the last that folk want at this time of year.

My son phoned me earlier. I asked him to get me a yule log for tomorrows tea. He was in Tes*o's, "Mum I can find a yule log, they have only got chocolate cake that looks a bit like a tree trunk " LOL I hadn't got the heart to tell him the truth, so I just said that it would do. You wait till I see him in the morning, I will rib him rotten.

Well the joints of meat are all now cooked, the veg is prepared, and I am sitting here relaxing, wonderful.
